An answer.. Your line of questioning is rather odd.
  2. Maybe they should build offices on that site so people can get to work easily. A 30 floor sky scraper would do the job perfectly. It would save all the journeys into the city etc etc ... Or maybe a dog sanctuary or how about a mosque or spiritualist centre plenty of demand for those.
  3. planning nonsense .. What do you expect it's Loony Southwark !!!!!
  4. Why would anyone want flats rather than houses in Dulwich Village?

  6. The WHOLE "Affordable" Housing story nonsense it's Political nonsense.. ie Boll?KS We simply require MORE housing regardless of the type cost style or location. The market will dictate what is required. Forcing questionable "affordable" housing into the equation has already been shown to restrict the supply as developers take time to battle the planning system. If politics weren't the main reason for this nonsense together with nimby envy maybe we'd have what we need IE more housing and less Politics and Ego....

All housing will be beneficial. As people move up it releases more affordable housing. Imo build thousands of multimillion pound homes please. At least the poor quality of uk housing would improve. Edit Actually... Yes build more cheap poor quality crap housing... Make what I have look good. :(
  9. wolis I believe the flights were 1 to 2 miles further north still visible from peckham rye as they flew over the Thames but since 2012 they have moved 1-2 miles south. It only takes a mile or two different to impact a previously unaffected neighbourhood. Dulwich park is now afflicted where it was previously a quiet sunny day relaxation zone.
  10. For the Record The noise we are currently experiencing has only been with us since December 2012. PRIOR to December 2012. We had the occasional fly over and Concord ..... We didn't have a jet every 2 mins 40 seconds ... THAT is why I now have a problem with the noise ..... ie because prior to December 2012 we didn't have it. !

See my previous posts.
  12. Move up = Dulwich Village Move sideways = see above Move abroad = Small Greek Island Move into another dimension = Nunhead Cemetery
  13. They're a complete shower who have allowed one poor planning permission after another who shouldn't be allowed to run a kids art play group let alone decide on architecture in the Dulwich conservation area. Their chief architect is constantly contradicting himself and really should have moved onto car park design department of some 3rd world country. Shocking bunch of numpties who haven't got a clue. Check out the houses being built on Court Lane in the village what a crock! For the Dulwich Estate It has and always will be about the money because that is ultimately their brief, raise as much money from the estate as possible to spend on the various "charities"...

  16. CBT etc etc didn't help my chronic condition. After suffering for a couple of decades I have found my cure. 1. 30-40 mins of interval running 3 - 4 times a week which involves 16 sessions of walking for 1 min 30 seconds and then sprinting for 30 seconds repeated 16 times. No need to exercise more than this unless you want to be an athlete. 2. Following some of the thought process / logic of Eckhart Tolle see youtube and his books. Be open .... I hope this helps sufferers heal their bodies and minds to live in the peace of the "Present".
  17. I'm up near Dulwich Library. Going into Heathrow at the moment. It's the dronnnnnnigggggggwhistleeeeeee noise soooooooooooooooooooooooooooo invasive.
  18. I've been away on a contract now back and the Aircraft Noise is terrible. Windows open with the heat what a mare!
  19. Saturday and in the garden with constant aircraft noise. the point is. before 2013 I could be in the garden and the only aircraft passing over were so high you needed binoculars to see them! I think that's something worth pointing out on a daily basis.
  20. IMHO It works quite well on this forum the continuity of this thread is good at keeping everyone local updated on what's going on. Otherwise it'll be a blog followed by a few people which will never grow into a useful resource which will not add to the community only divert information away from the community. IMO stay with Aircraft noise in ED updates info even if it's daily info on wind preference etc in this thread. It's hardly intrusive if you're interested read the thread ...... if not DON'T.
  21. All good things come to an end . Back on westerly preference this morning hey ho ... Woken at 4.33 did some paperwork ,,, :(
  22. When away Skiing we had some snow it was also full of Sahara sand dust it took the wax of my skis rather annoying. :( Washed my car yesterday looks lovely now :)

  24. MissKing -- Comic tinnitus ... ffs The aircraft noise is nothing like tinnitus it's like aircraft noise. wavyline girl -- wind direction has put Heathrow into easterly preference mode so we won't get any noise until the wind changes a they go back to westerly preference. Since Nov 2012 there has been a significant increase in complaints from those living under the flight path 10-20 miles East out from Heathrow they are looking at why the complaints have jumped so dramatically. I believe it's because the flight path has moved, they insist that's not the case. It's apparently a mystery ... not like tinnitus but it may end up giving you tinnitus if there is another unexplained increase in noise.
  25. MrBen Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > > If anyone knows anyone who can do a great job of > this for less than ?2k I'm all ears... If your house is worth 600,000k to 1,500,000 is 2k too much to spend on what is probably one of the most important looking Victorian features? I don't get it. Everything to do with property cost what it costs easy to costed per Sq M. If your path is 1 metre wide and 4 metres long that's 500quid per Sq M a tiny 0.333 percent of 600,000 If you don't have the money totally different argument but if you do that's the price would you risk paying 500 less to get a rotten job pay the best people the right price. Common practice in Europe for some reason here in the UK it's a mystery. Find out what it should cost per Sq M sooner we all arm ourselves with that information the sooner we can get work done for the correct price and stop getting ripped off.
