You need to get a sense of humour Pearl Harbour :) I am definitely more sensitive to the noise but that doesn't mean it isn't there or that it has increased. since dec 2012 Unfortunately there is no record of noise pollution levels or aircraft noise impact on SE22. All I know is that I suffer and a few others also suffer. Just because a bigger % don't suffer doesn't mean I shouldn't, unless you are using some odd logic? -

Well I guess but it's very very annoying when after decades of quiet one feels suddenly as though they are living Experiencing the attack on Pearl Harbor groung hog of December 7, 1941.... Only slower and with jet aircraft and no bombs. So I guess it's ridiculous I should just live with the noise at least my physical life isn't at risk other than the potential for the noise to increase my chances of hear attack. btw you trying to wind me up isn't helping mi ticker either ... :) -

Next time the sun shines I'm going to get a deck chair and sit opposite to get the full impact and so fully appreciate it's architectural beauty. ;) -

If it isn't a problem for YOU then why would make a comment? Is it to shut up those of us who are affected ? Are you concerned about the impact it will have on your property values or some other negative vibe it gives ED ? Very odd. -

Is it fair > that they should suddenly have planes flying over > their place when they bought a home with no planes > flying over? (not that I think you can buy a house > anywhere in London that has no planes flying over) The aircraft had been flying over those areas for decades !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Like Vauxhaull flights have been flying over Vauxhaull for EVER !!!!!! They previously flew over the Thames and headed to Heathrow turning over Vauxhaull Now they Fly over Blackheath Lewisham Brockley Forest Hill East / Dulwich etc etc etc There's been lots of new paper articles in those areas about the disturbance... -

It's the change after many many years which is unreasonable. It's the change which hasn't been announced just forced on US. how do you see that as nimbyism ... ? I think funnelling every flight into Heathrow over ED is unreasonable unnecessary and an infringement of my human rights to a quiet life especially as prior to DEC 2012 I had bought into an area which was quiet. To suddenly be invaded with constant aircraft noise is unacceptable nimby ... ummm -

I'm happy for you to see it like that ... but for me it's a completely new disturbance and I've also been here for over 20 years. Maybe your hearing isn't as good or isn't tuned into the same annoyance frequency .. For me it's a living nightmare .. I went to a meeting early in the year over in Brockley between Heathrow and Brockley residents and there were a lot of Brockley residents who also say things have changed since Dec 2012. If you don't have a problem then that REALLY great for you .... ! -

If it was a Motorway or flyover that had suddenly appeared at the end of your road you'd probably have issue the flight path over your house is no different. We have never been asked if we minded aircraft to suddenly start flying over ED we have had no say in this life changing motorway in the sky. I don't think it's a lot to ask... I'd like them fly where they were they were flying 50 year prior to dec 2012. IE 1-2-3-4 etc miles further north. -

Applespider I agree in general perception is different from person to person, but there is a point where everyone with average hearing and average sensitivity levels become annoyed. It's difficult to be exact it's possible the change happened before or post dec 2012. I am certain that Heathrow have changed the flight paths together with any alternating they had in place. Possible it changed post 9/11 and post the recent wave of skyscrapers of canary warf and the city. Heathrow has radar flight path data but it isn't precise enough to show a one or two mile difference and it only take a mile or two to have an impact on a neighbourhood which was previously unaffected. The only conclusion I have is flight path has moved south where it was previously over the Thames so it is now directly over ED, when it was previously directly over the Thames. The biggest factor is the constant noise and aircraft I see flying over Dulwich park for years on sunny days I've gone to read and relax there, now that's impossible. It is possible the flight are now in a narrower landing corridor and that has increased the impact, but I don't think that is what has happened. I think it's simply been moved 1-2 miles south. Today Zero aircraft noise landings on Easterly operations. If anyone edcam johnie TheArtfulDogger Otta *Bob* Penguin68 etc thinks it's just as noisy as yesterday they need to go get a hearing test... -

Difficult to get used to the noise. The problem is they all sound slightly different depending on speed position and model. The airbus aircraft also have a terrible whine which sounds like a distant air raid siren. -

Jeremy Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Fazer, do you think the problem is that the volume > of air traffic has increased and needs to be > curbed? Or that planes are being > disproportionately routed over this part of > London? (without mentioning the obvious third > option..) I believe there has been a change in the route aircraft take into Heathrow, and prior to Dec 2012 they flew a couple of miles further north over the Thames where now they fly over ED. Previously Saturday and Sunday morning lie ins I would wake up hearing birds singing and the occasional car, now every Weekend it's constant aircraft drone from 4.30 am and the bird song is nowhere. I have lived in the area for over 20 years and it is something which simply wasn't here prior to Dec 2012. The fact a lot of people don't notice it or have become accustomed to it isn't a surprise, some of us are more sensitive to noise than others. 100% certain it is a new phenomenon, a huge problem for me I am really struggling with the impact, on what was previously a very happy life I had living in ED. Nothing about me has changed I went out of the uk to work for several months and when I came back something was different I couldn't initially figure out what it was but after a while I realised it was a new noise,, aircraft noise a noise which wasn't there before. I remember hearing Concord passing over once a day it was loud but that was the only aircraft noise which was noticed ..... now it's like a very slightly quieter Concord every couple of minutes. The only conclusion I have is that the flight path into Heathrow has changed otherwise I would have noticed all the aircraft as well as Concord back before Dec 2012. -

Oh yea I'm part of the problem . We are all part of the problem the whole of humanity is part of the problem.. Aircraft prior to Dec 2012 did not fly as far south over Dulwich as the have post Dec 2012. I know as I remember clearly hearing busses hitting a pot hole on Lordship Lane early in the morning back then there was no aircraft noise! I don't hear the Busses, as the pot hole was fixed road resurfaced ..... I do hear Jet Aircraft roaring overhead from 4.30 am then from 7.30 am one jet after another every few minutes. I remember relaxing in Dulwich Park reading a book on a sunny summer day and there not being any aircraft or aircraft noise above me, now it's constant aircraft ever couple of minutes. The air is now constantly filled with the drone of jet aircraft it was never like that NEVER! IT is a recent problem. I flew Prior to Dec 2012 back then in ED there was no aircraft noise, other than Concord. How do you explain that was it because I only flew Concord ??? Your logic would make that the answer. Derrrr.. -

I quite like the plans. Contemporary design with lots of large windows all built out of yellow London stocks. They could just replicate the Edwardian and Victorian look but for why? Compared to the design of the new houses on Court Lane this is a delight. The 1930's petrol station offers little in terms of visual interest "looks like a hut" and is of zero benefit to anyone. If the residents ever have a big say the result = NOTHING would Ever happen Nothing would be built we would all be living in mud huts!
