Lol. Clueless. Conway will definitely have charged more for the reduced scheme any changes from the original will cost more even if there is less work and less materials. That's how it works. Contractors NEVER charge less they are not geared up for on the fly change pricing. It's all in their contract. The junction wasn't broken ! It didn't need fixing. The system works for the local authority department staff and contractors not for the benefit of the environment or those who pay the taxes or use the services. Result = change for the sake of change . Not improvement. In a couple of years the junction will be ripped apart at a cost of ?500,000 to try a new idea thought up by new staff and new contractors.. And the money go round will march on and on.. And our taxes will be wasted again and again on useless changes and environmental damage "manufacturing cement burning fossil fuels etc" for zero gain. Insanity

Just a wish...(there was a baby/pram/child free pub in ED)

The ambience of the British boozer is being ruined by screaming babies and children whose parents allow them to run riot, according to disgruntled licensees and customers. On the money .! And I hate the guardian. -
Cyclemonkey Totally agree Forest Hill offers better value and is as good a location. Which question?

Wrong. The problem is/was the voting system. Realisation of a wasted vote results in two party politics. Fairytale socialism vs the reality of capitalism. No way in hell the LD had a future the only option was sh?t or bust. It ended the only way it could be bust. Move on .. Or go backwards with socialist insanity. The true definition making the same mistakes over and over and expecting a different outcome. Most voters with a 1/2% memory got wise to it.. Those with a goldfish brain live in a fantasy world. -
Deptford Honour Oak Brockley / Brockley Cross All closer to central London. Why move further out?
-
Yes that's true, but even that wouldn't tempt me. Too far from central London . Ideally the perfect move after ED would be a similar bicycle ride away from the smoke.

Norwood = No mans land. Rough as anything. Cheap for good reasons. IMHO.

Conway Aecom etc etc all useless pi?? taking ?unts. Every job they carry out is a joke ... New roads recently tarmac'd and water leaks so dug up again and again an then new surface is worst than old surface. Incompetence over seen by council staff all on backhanders in one shape or another (ie job offer in the future or other) Crooked useless and overpriced. My concern has always been the risk to life from these morons. ref Peckham Rye and the junction with East Dulwich road a few years back where their slow never ending road works resulted in the death of a young girl at the unnecessary temporary traffic lights. These contractors and incompetent council people are a danger to us all.

I found it bonkers where the result is 50/50 spilt, it is implemented!!!!! Common sense in all the others. Parking restrictions in ED would kill small business's as it has done in Peckham and every other thriving high street. Insane UK. -
Sydenham for low price. Peckham but now priced the same as ED. Forest Hill would be my first choice for upside potential in prices.

What exactly has that got to do with James? Or anyone else who follows this thread? Should we all be posting the minutiae of our daily difficulties? Constant aircraft noise isn't an issue but a one off scaffolding removal noise is a disaster. Lol -

The extreme comparison is a great example of nimby logic .. ..

This lot only want a specific type of development. Not to big not to small ceilings not to high not to low. Not too cheap not too expensive. The list of requirements is endless. Must look amazing but not too amazing. Must be affordable. Insane lunatic people. Development Can't Just build it and let the market decide. Noooooooooooo It's important that every neighbour and nosy parker had their say. Bit like the Dulwich Estates development where a bunch of clueless old grunters make poor decisions based on maximising profit over style nimbys maximise stupidity over homes.. Sad

NIMBYs What a great read for anyone who wonders why we don't have enough homes moans about sky high house prices. I admit I almost gave up the will to live after the first 1/2 dozen posts and stopped,, so maybe I missed something? I think the general gist is moan moan moan and why why why tooooooo big tooooo low tooooo busy body. If anyone wants to know why the quality of housing in Southwark is so poor... Maybe they should look in the mirror.

In Clapham similar problems with rat runs were fixed with a combination of barriers and one way streets. It's only a matter of time and tens of thousands ? wasted on other useless attempts to fix rat run problems that ED will end up with the same system as Clapham. Best if Southwark get on with it sooner than later esp with the new School set to cause major traffic nightmares. Southwark should go and ask how it was fixed in Clapham ... Only that would result in savings and we all know they don't want that ! -
No The answer was. Y I A A C :) But then as A C I knew you wouldn't understand. I know U R A C .. UC

tfwsoll That hasn't been my experience. Sure aircraft have flown over ED for many years but we've never had the current every 2 min aircraft noise with aircraft flying low above us. That's a recent development. Around three years ago the intensity changed it became more intense directly above Dulwich. With westerly winds. It is now a constant whistle from a320s as mentioned above.

Y r a C Capitalise that.

Anyone who lives near Heathrow BOUGHT into the noise they knew what they were getting. In ED we didn't many of us have been here since WAY WAY before the Aircraft NOISE !! Not V difficult to understand OUR position !
