  1. Go on then, treat yourselves
  2. Karen Carpenter singing 'Goodbye to Love' with the Tony Peluso, amazing guitar solo at the end. Guilty heaven, it's a fair cop but, society's to blame.

    Mandelson

He's Herbert Morrisons grandson, so a real part of old Labour depite his presentation as a moderniser. He's an opportunist. They can't live with him, can't live without him. Poor bustards.
  4. He should write a book
  5. Whatever, but he's (and I hate saying this word in connection with GB) right. Particularly in London and the south east, theres simply not enough property to go round. Things can change very quickly and unexpectedly in the house market. For example in May 07 the current situation was unthinkable amongst buyers and sellers.
  6. Lush, didn't you have a thing for Mrs T once?
  7. From the BBC 'The UK's property market has a better chance of bouncing back before other countries because "we failed" to build enough houses, Gordon Brown has said. The prime minister told a City audience the US and Spain had "overbuilt" homes during the years of rising prices. In contrast the UK had "pent-up demand" because not enough had been built. He said the UK problem was not shortage of demand for homes at "the right prices" but a shortage of mortgages "at the right prices for people to buy".'
  8. Is Dulwichmums slipper a mistake?
  9. Dulwich Village traffic lights and the madness that results. It's probably the most congested junction in the area as far as traffic and school children are concerned. I'm amazed nobody has been killed there. The traffic lights are, amazingly, equally unfirndly to drivers and pedestrians, what are they thinking about??
  10. Yeah, alright, that was the best thing about buses, in the EDOlde days, upstairs was smoking. (packed up now being all healthy and PC as anyone who knows me will testify). 176 very good after a late night in Denmark St (or anywhere else in the West End for that matter) last time I went there, very entertaining, everyone on the bus, apart from the driver, trashed. I hate you Butler.
  11. The buses today are infinitely better than they were 20/30 or even, as I remember, almost 40 years ago. I'll admit I don't use them during rush hours regularly, as I did once, but on the times I do I find them regular, relatively clean (considering how many people use them)and a very cheap way to get round London. It may not be the fastest but what is fast in London these days?

    a joke

Whats the capital of Iceland? About ?4.50
  13. And I thought Clown's were funny
  14. Surley the councils have a bit of a Dali Lama here. One the one hand if they invest wisely and keep our tax bills down we are grateful but if they stick it all in an Icelandic bank and it goes pear shaped we are all tearing them apart. Bring back Camberwell Borough Council I say, they'd have put it all in the Peckham Building Society.
  15. Stock markets are down
  16. I'm all for expensive rub a dub dubs meself, keeps the riff raff out, don't you know?
  17. ?2.50 a pint for Harveys bitter at the Dog at the moment. But, it has, gone to the Dogs.

  19. Has anyone mentioned their Granola? Really like it. I also like the bread but they never seem to have enough small loafs for us old people.
  20. I'd just go to this thread 'What's happened to the CPT' and read the Ted Max posts. Riveting stuff, what will happen next?
  21. No one complains about William Rose being cash only.
  22. Met Jah Lush and his lovely sister in the Mag 2day had a very nice drinky and retired to the first floor of the EDT. Which is terribly posh and is going to be a private members club, but dear friends, is it all a question of life, Jim, but not as we know it? (Incidentally I think I might of had one too many.)
  23. And steve is complaining
  24. The place was originally owned by two brothers, Peter & (I forget the other ones name, might have been Steve) Lui. The food when they had it was exceptional and I believe one of the brothers still runs the Chinese, Mr Kai's, at Crytal Palace. I've never been disapointed and I agree with Standwithfist, the Duck (really, really crispy) and the chiken noodles are very good. But it has changed hands recently and only time will tell. I've mentioned this before, but this is where Nico Ladenis had his restaurant, after he left it was a burger place and then the Chinese.
