  2. 451 for 8 and Pietersen on 183 (been cutting loose since he got to 150) - very good afternoon's work and Kumar got himself a five-for. Tomorrow is looking like a good day to be there Quids - and early too if we don't see England get a chance to bowl in the next 40mins or so.

  6. Drinks? Oh alright, I suppose I could force one down- oops.

The Prince Regent gastropub on Dulwich Rd are serving a foie gras, rabbit and pigeon terrine with beetroot and horseradish relish today - http://theprinceregent.co.uk/ just don't tell anyone.

I stand by everything I said re little Tommy.

  11. ALLEGEDLY Christine Ohuruogu was due to be there but she says she forgot and, even when reminded and told she still had plenty of time to get there, still failed to show. When told she might be stopped attending further promos she said she would go and be in other promos for other countries so she was forgiven.
  12. Alan Medic Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Well up yours then! Okay watch the old BP - if it upsets you that much I apologise to all vegans everywhere and will smear myself in Marmite and prostrate myself on a bed of ricecakes before them, and when they heave their wracked translucent frames to the barricades surrounding Au Pied de Cochon I shall support them with a song in my heart. *and a trotter in my hand*
  13. Tom has been nothing but friendly on this forum and not idiot enough to think he could pull the wool over your eyes regarding his eating habits. so why not state his intentions to eradicate all animal slaughter (or 'living free from animal products' as the Vegan Society he is a member of states) at the start? Where did he even imply he was not against meat? The use of the collective 'WE' as in we're all in this for the same reasons - now THAT is bollix. he might have hoped to make an impact on some people regarding FG. He was trying to pressurize a local business to conform to his ideals and wanted support. Apology refused.
  14. DJKillaQueen Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > > But I have yet to hear anyone who eats foie gras > justify the inhumane process of production. Why should they? Can anyone justify the slow suffocation of a cod caught by a trawler? Or the cruelty and suffering (FACW) of a beast slaughtered to satisfy religious requirements? Can they justify asparagus flown in from Chile during the winter months? What about our European cousins and their taste for Ortolans (now illegal to sell in France but not to eat). To get the traditional flavour these tiny birds are captured alive, force-fed, then drowned in Armagnac and roasted whole then eaten that way, bones and all. Sounds terrible - but I'd love to try one... even though I could not "justify" it. ETA: though illegal it is only so because of numbers dwindling (not cruelty) and it is now a protected species along with woodcock but it is still caught and eaten and even - allegedly - served in some restaurants to favoured clients.

No AJM it wasn't - it was the duplicitous approach of a campaigning vegan using an old Blairite tactic of Hey Guys and the assumed collective of "it would be wonderful if we could encourage them..." to make others think he was not against all meat at all, just FG... which is bollocks... breaded bollocks with stewed peppers and onions - here: http://uktv.co.uk/food/recipe/aid/533733
  18. Agree with the above comments with this addition - once had to get it all the way to Putney and back for a few days and the delays in getting through Brixton to Clapham Common pale beside the bum-numbing delay of getting through Clapham Junction and Wandsworth to Putney. More bigger better buses now. (more often).
  19. If this was the ONLY kind of tv that the shovel-faced old bag was allowed to do I think that would be okay with me.
  20. looking forward to a gloat-fest.

Have to say I agree with DC too and (incidentally) having looked at the OP again I think it's the "Hey Guys" intro that turns my stomach.

    Treacle.

I think they do Treacle in the Blue Cafe... which I saw in a film recently...
  23. You're right some meat eaters do abhor the practice so they don't eat it. Others never have because it's so expensive - attack the meat-eaters or the wealthy but don't blanket-bomb in the hope of garnering support for a philosophy most people have no time for. And as for targeting a French restaurant for serving a quintessentially French dish and trying to organise a boycott - well I find that more distasteful than foie gras, veal and sow crates. ETA: *sow crates* - not the Bill & Ted philosophy guy.

    Treacle.

You're doing this just to annoy Strafer aren't you? *sniggers*
