Possibly true but why is it that those words bring to mind gooners more than anyone else?

Brew XI (shudders) Bossman also has some decent 'craft' ciders too - when my West Country rellies came for a visit they were surprised by the choice.

  6. Jellied eels are too bland - smoked eels on the other hand are one of the very finest things in life.
  7. Touching the twitching eye of a dog's arse with ones tongue will, rumour has it, stave off hunger pangs for a while (and saves on all that expensive Miso!)* *see also 'sucking a pavement pizza'/'licking the bottom of a lampost'

And I thought they were terrific (note to BFS, that's how you play with muscle and power but with added skill and tactical knowhow). Possession and tippy-tappy is attractive but has its limits, especially when your defence is sus. (Arsenal found that out a while back).
  11. That's that Welsh water company franchise isn't it? Makes their fridges look real coooooool.
  12. Another favourite Midlands street food (alongside dripping toast) is the faggot & pea batch - a large crusty roll with a faggot in gravy (a proper butcher's faggot of fresh pig heart and liver not the 'Brains' frozen muck) topped by mushy peas and seasoned with pepper and vinegar. Delicious, stick to your ribs for a week.

  14. we know the diff between stork and butter lard and dripping you... drip. One brings the other to mind is all, though some other meat fats are equally good - a smidge of good solidified roast chicken grease with a dollop of the jelly underneath.. mmmmmmnn... (calm down health fascists - it's not a replacement for polyunsturatedcholesterolloweringimitationbutterycolouredyellowfat - just an occasional treat)
  15. ...shirt sleeve order may be adopted...
  16. Have to say I enjoyed the first few eps then missed one, then another, and missed the finale too - and wasn't all that bothered. Sometimes these things go on too long and it's easy to stop being interested.
  17. Excellent TT - and none of that veal jus on brioche buggery - sunday roast beef dripping on freshly toasted bloomer, pinch of salt, white pepper. Ta.
  18. TillieTrotter Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Never Louisa. I'd rather eat lard on toast! Now you're talking! Proper dripping on hot toast with a little pepper - 'slovely. Do any gastrofinders know of a purveyor in the district?
  19. Can't hack those new indoor restorant thingies, if you want restoring nothing restores more than a starling on a stick.
  20. Mega nursery!? *weeps into bowl of rusks.
  21. I disagree Dude - libraries aren't just for people who want to work on their laptops. The problem with Peckham Library is that it's like a giant internet cafe with a few books squeezed around the outside - and they even have a separate floor set aside for 'quiet study' - I like the room and light Dulwich seems to have now.

  23. 21. Wigan (8)? 22. West Brom (7)?
  24. Stats schmats they don't prove anything - after all a couple of players can rack up the pass count by meaningless exchanges in harmless areas of the pitch. But stats and 'tables' are what BFS relies on too - "Look at the figures - we're not as long ball as some teams...etc etc\" - I am not trying to present a reasoned unbiased argument like a Lawro et al - I just don't like the way things are developing. We're not Bolton or Stoke and I would rather be relegated again and rebuild from scratch than use muscle as a substitute for skill. Mad innit?
