  3. stair carpet come away and this is the instrument for securing it. a bottle of wine for a loan please.
  4. 7.45am this morning queues both lanes, but noticed that while my westward travelling lane got two goes on the green light, the opposite lane didn't move when our lane was redlighted. with a tailback to Red Post Hill. SO presume not working. Coming back the other way, 45 minutes later, the same. Then a workman came out with a Stop/Go sign and nonchantly swizzled it around while smoking a fag.It would be quicker to have no lights and people use their common sense in giving way in a road narrowed for the length and width equivalent of one double parked car.
  5. Got off train around 5.45pm and then stuck in a swelling crowd from platform, then down stairs which was completely stuck as only one person at a time allowed through the (broken?)gates. Didn't get through till 5.55pm. More and more pressure behind crowd. Staff urgently on phone. One staff person at bottom of stairs staring helplessly. Accident waiting to happen.
  6. no, I didn't see a crime. I saw a VW Camper being lifted onto nuisance vehicle removal truck.
  7. this was an older model.
  8. we now have this in the Bellenden area and it has had a big impact on parking spaces. In our road we have four small junctions, each with these extended lines.
  9. mine is 5kw, the largest you can have without an airbrick, Cleaview Pioneer, bought from The Forest Bailiff http://www.forestbailiff.co.uk/ and is one of the most efficient stoves on the market. Its in my kitchen'dining room and the warmth extends into the rest of the ground floor if I leave doors open, which I have to as it is so lovely and warm. It has a grate so you can use smokeless coal. There is another model you can stick a casserole in!
  10. I am sending you a message DF
  11. this may be nothing, but just in case- this morning outside Nunhead Cemetery (Linden Grove end) I saw a pick up remove -or possibly even place- an orange VW Camper van. The pick up had 'nuisance vehicle' insignia and a company name. I don't think the van was there when I parked to walk the dog. I know people have had campers nicked locally by pick up trucks. This could have been a nicked one being temporarily parked. Or in the act of being nicked. Anyway, I took a photo of the campervan and the truck.
  12. I adore Johnnies and my only twinge is tucking into my huge veggie brekkie and there is a famine alert fund raising thing going on on the big screen which at one time it seemed it was tuned into permanently.
  13. Waitrose were giving away free Daily Mails with coffee and now they are not.
  14. we enjoyed our ?6.99 firework variety box from Lidl. Lots of quiet colourful low key fountainy things and one rocket type thing that hit a tree.
  15. Jags. It's economical if you use it as much as possible as membership covers all classes, gym and pool

  17. She'd fallen over in the takeaway. left her handbag there. That is pretty drunk. The room was dark. She may not even have known a second man was having sex with her. Maybe that was part of their 'joke'in 'bagging a drunk one'.

  20. our downstairs loo is on the site of the original outside loo- all the drains and pipes are already there somewhere underneath. I've seen quite a few people do this, sometimes adding a shower too. It is a boxed off square off the kitchen at the garden end.
