  1. I'm with Rose on this one and also feel sorry for the people who paid for those other dogs to be walked - the ones who were confined to a park bench while the walker did their negligent thing and just sat there.
  2. People stick to the original edf even after physically moving to China or Kent.
  3. this is terrible, on top of the human tragedy, has it affected access to the station do you think? asking as meeting north London friends at station tomorrow and don't want to totally freak them out now they've crossed the river.
  4. much less than a loft conversion. we did this swap AND a loft conversion. we have two bathrooms now, very useful. the bathroom swap, using existing baths etc buy putting up new partition walls was about three grand.
  5. stick a window in the ceiling, isn't that where the roof to ceiling relationship is very close? also, yes we gave the bedroom the back window and the bathroom got the window on side return . run the corridor the other side if its the wrong side or add a new small bathroom window- cant be that expensive- in the wall.
  6. our house was like this- as were many Victorian houses where a bathroom had been tacked onto the back bedroom. Originally you walked through quite a big bedroom to a big bathroom. the doorway to the bedroom was almost as soon as you came off the stairs with very little landing. Our house has left hand front door and all rooms to right, so we created a new bathroom, much smaller, at the top of the stairs to the right with a corridor to the left of it leading to a back bedroom. I now rather wish we had made the bathroom even smaller as the bedroom is a bit bottle-neck.
  7. Excellent service from Tom, highly recommended again!
  8. gosh so what was his story?
  9. hi, I go to an adult ballet class run by Fiona Foster- its been going for a few years and is now on a Wednesday at 7.30pm at Honor Oak Baptist Church Se22 0SG. It is off for half term next week but resumes after. It's a lovely class but I wouldn't say we adults are young....
  10. My dog would always try to chase a fox if given the chance. Part of the point of him being on a lead in the street is to protect him from his own instinct- so he doesn't forget his common sense and rush into a road in pursuit- because instinct would definitely take over. Foxes seem exciting things to chase- He definitely doesn't think they are dogs. He has chased many foxes in Nunhead Cemetery but they are much too fast for him and have secret places to hide.
  11. i like the Rye Lane one
  12. thanks tomskip but Bell Green is just as far as the Old Kent Road recycling centre.if Sainsbury's ones were getting out of hand, maybe they needed to be emptied more.
  13. re height, put up a trellis.
  14. understand but have boot full of bottles driving around trying to find one of those big things- there must be others.
  15. have I missed a trick? wanted to recycle loads of bottles but the big recycle banks have disappeared from both Peckham Rye and Sainsbury DKH car parks. Is this a new policy?
  16. we can collect it as soon as convenient for you.
  17. Sheff you are the hero of Christmas. PMing you now!!
  18. stair carpet come away and this is the instrument for securing it. a bottle of wine for a loan please.
  19. 7.45am this morning queues both lanes, but noticed that while my westward travelling lane got two goes on the green light, the opposite lane didn't move when our lane was redlighted. with a tailback to Red Post Hill. SO presume not working. Coming back the other way, 45 minutes later, the same. Then a workman came out with a Stop/Go sign and nonchantly swizzled it around while smoking a fag.It would be quicker to have no lights and people use their common sense in giving way in a road narrowed for the length and width equivalent of one double parked car.
  20. Got off train around 5.45pm and then stuck in a swelling crowd from platform, then down stairs which was completely stuck as only one person at a time allowed through the (broken?)gates. Didn't get through till 5.55pm. More and more pressure behind crowd. Staff urgently on phone. One staff person at bottom of stairs staring helplessly. Accident waiting to happen.
  21. no, I didn't see a crime. I saw a VW Camper being lifted onto nuisance vehicle removal truck.
  22. this was an older model.
  23. we now have this in the Bellenden area and it has had a big impact on parking spaces. In our road we have four small junctions, each with these extended lines.
  24. mine is 5kw, the largest you can have without an airbrick, Cleaview Pioneer, bought from The Forest Bailiff http://www.forestbailiff.co.uk/ and is one of the most efficient stoves on the market. Its in my kitchen'dining room and the warmth extends into the rest of the ground floor if I leave doors open, which I have to as it is so lovely and warm. It has a grate so you can use smokeless coal. There is another model you can stick a casserole in!
  25. I am sending you a message DF
