  1. Cheers for the thought Bob... but no. Another 3 hours wasted - coach tickets resale on Thursday apparently tho... more hope to be crushed!
  2. Jamie, the landlord, seemed interested in the forum when I mentioned it so hopefully he will show up on here and give us his thoughts...
  3. yes yes - I mistyped tickets! oops
  4. Anyone on here trying for resale tickets at 9am today? If you get through first PM me and vice versa if we get through
  5. and what an intro Klaus Agree with most of those points - there is a bit of finger-crossing going on.. Not having proper speakers is bad but the music choices are not really...bad.. just.. meh I wish it well tho
  6. I have had 2 deliveries from Chandni next to West Dulwich station recently and found them to be excellent - sauces have a bit more oomph (body-wise, not heat-wise) and the meat quality is excellent
  7. Loved the Niffenberger book Emma - have I seen your book club dining in Blue Mountain of an evening (a while back now admittedly)
  8. Welcome aboard to Emma - but be warned.. your work will now suffer (just a quick peek so see if anyone has posted) Redrouge - Not often I get the 176 back at night but those times I have done it, the situation you describe transpired.. In fact I think it was around that time that I decided to see how quickly I could walk places instead of travelling by car/bus/train and I haven't looked back. Not only is it 1000% less stressful, but you learn more about the town and it's 100% reliable (People being late is a right old bug-bear for me!)
  9. im up for it if invited how is the quiz pitched - CPT hard or Mag hard?
  10. my hay fever is off the scale today but that made me laugh out loud and had heads turning my way Cheapest is walking of course otherwise it's a bus bus for you 185 to Oval and then change for 436 to Paddington I would allow 2 hours - should take hour and a half but you know the score I sometimes get bus to Elephant and tube (Bakerloo) from ther but it doesn't save that much time and is more expensive Or you could cadge a lift!
  11. I didn't even get the gag until days later. But please, as I said before, should you employ him don't bring the subject up. I didn't because I had an idea he wouldn't be keen to talk about it bit on Day 2 when I was at work someone else did (even tho I told them not to!) and they regretted it instantly Otherwise a nice guy (ahem) and a great job
  12. Kevin thirded - the author did a big piece in G2 this week about the Virginia Tech story as well...
  13. 63 to Peckham takes about 25-30 mins - add another 20 mins to get through Peckham tho.. As for Walworth Rd traffic lights at the mo - don't start me. If I catch a bus before 7:30am it's not too bad - however even 10 mins later than that at the queues can start at Camberwell
  14. November November Preparation It's Creation we will get lounged if we're not careful On topic: if my Mum liked her steak I would say Franklins as well - best steak in town

    a joke

Phonetic one this.. 2 nuns in the bath one says "where's the soap?" the other says "yes it does doesn't it?" ---- fin told at age 11 "got" at age 16 when walking down the street and burst into laughter on my own
  16. and YOU DM are the first person to get the Fatima Mansions reference I would love you more if you meant the band not the apartments .. but still...
  17. If I reply about the venue we'll be getting seriously off topic - so I may start another thread because you are onto something there
  18. Poppy - a fine example of a watertight case if ever I saw it. Although as someone who clearly needs a car I now object to you having to pay for a permit... contradictory - thats me
  19. sound - beats lugging a laptop around.
  20. ah go on Polly - we the public love a bit of insider gossip Obviously you wouldn't be talking about t'Express - just stuff you heard about "other" pizza restaurants
  21. Keef I have yet to have my first web'n'walk bill before deciding whether to subscribe....advice?
  22. As an altar boy of 6 years service DM you KNOW the answer already...
  23. cough.. straight out of left field, a compliment thrown my way. By none other than....DM herself. I need say no more and content myself that this day will get no better. I don't know if I know my stuff... I don't seem to be able to even type properly these days. Back in the day, I had a very similar idea (reviews etc) and created a whole 12k of HTML code that led to www.timamansio.com It didn't look like that - that's an update I did this week just to appease a mate who NEVER stops bugging me about it So I put a link to this place (far better) on the page and a vague teaser I am however, an inveterate procrastinator (Chuir ar an m?ar fada ?)so whether anything will happen remains to be seen
  24. West London to LL - worst type of journey. Any bands playing Shepherds Bush Empire or Hammy Odeon have to be WAY up on my list to even contemplate the journey back Louisiana - any time i arrive at Kings X it's the 63 all the way home - off at the Rye for a quick hop down to LL
  25. Mike I'll never forget dad-in-law coming with us to The Bishop on New Years Day - a born and bred Mail reader he survey the scen and declared "So this is what the chattering classes are like" on a Monday night the restaurant scene will be wide open. From your description I would possibly recommend Le Moulin - French name but plenty of good honest grub my Mum would love too - very unpretentious Possibly too far up LL? What type of food would she prefer?
