  1. You need to go for half a chicken at Nandos - quarter is too small for normal people.
  2. Yeah but it's only really worth their while if the song's a massive earner. I don't think there's much to be made from album tracks by Aussie also-rans.
  3. That's true BB. Reminds me of when Joe Satriani sued Coldplay. Both songs shared an identical - albeit generic - melody, but I'm inclined to think it was a coincidence.
  4. Nandos actually own GBK. Maybe they'll give us a swap.
  5. That's the thing, GBK might have seemed OK 10+ years ago, but the "Meat" burgers, Shake shack, and even Byron are much better and GBK have stood still.

  7. I don't really rate Bittersweet Symphony anyway, take away the orchestral sample (i.e. the good bit) and you're left with four generic chords, a repetitive melody, and run-of-the mill lyrics. But totally stripping them of songwriting credits was harsh.
  8. That was settled out of court, Otta. And I think it was over sample clearance, rather than a plagiarism case. But yeah, The Verve got totally screwed.

OK - The Railway and the White Hart. Tulse Hill is an infintely better location than the Harvester. You're simply not being objective, Pete.
  10. I doubt the whole episode will make much of a dent in his wallet. Judging by the sales of his last album, Robin Thicke is probably pretty annoyed though.
  11. *Bob* Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > it's the production elements ... that did for them. But you can't copyright "production". If you could, every house/techno producer would be suing each other as if they were Apple and Samsung.
  12. I thought the judgement was harsh. The arrangement is lifted from the Marvin Gaye track, but not the melody or chords/bassline - which is what the judgement was supposed to be based on.
  13. There's a teenage rapper called Chief Keef (honestly). He released a single that went something like "if you don't suck my dick I'll kill you". So, yeah, that's a good one.
  14. Sorry. A charming stroll, taking you along 1km of one of SE London's premier 'A' roads, with sufficient gradient to feel that you've earned that morning croissant.

  16. But it's just round the corner from a station, and the pubs/restaurants/shops of Tulse hill...
  17. Shite misogynistic lyrics. Crappy, boring, bland song. Why anyone would listen to this dross - let alone pay money for it - is totally beyond me.
  18. Bic Basher Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > I wouldn't define an area which is next to Dulwich > Park and Sydenham Hill Woods as a "crappy area" Perfectly reasonable place to live (if you don't mind a hike to the train station). Crappy location for a pub. Especially for a big pub.
  19. To be fair... it is a crappy location. 1KM to the nearest high street, perched on a very busy intersection of the south circular.
  20. Probably 50/50 - rusty "skillz", and various editions of the game play a bit differently. Felt a right tool when I got totally thumped by Guile in round 2.
  21. I can pull off the moves (I always relied on a pretty basic set of moves anyway). But success always depended on second guessing the opponent, which was quite easy once you'd played it enough times.
  22. BTW - I considered myself reasonable good at SF2 back in the day, played in loads on the megadrive, completed a couple of the arcade versions with a single credit. But when I play it now in Four Quarters, I get my butt kicked and struggle to get past three or four levels. Why is this? Do different versions have totally different AI?
  23. I'm not sure it's over caution on the part of the restaurant... more likely that the burgers are not freshly made, so they know it's not safe.
  24. TBH I wouldn't have a problem paying ?75ph at Beast for a special occasion. But apparently things start getting really silly with the drinks http://www.standard.co.uk/goingout/restaurants/grace-dent-reviews-beast-9490877.html 2 cocktails ?29 Water ?14 2 Diet Cokes ?14 1 bottle of wine ?55
