  1. It does look rather like one of those garden room/office things you can buy for 15K or whatever. Still... it's on it's own bit of land.
  2. Don't really see the problem. Same price as a one bed flat on the DKH estate...
  3. They have targets to meet... it's actually in their interest to issue as many tickets as possible. Which IMO is totally wrong, but there's nothing we can do about it, you just have to live and learn.

  5. We are near-ish Peckham Rye and things are fine, apart from the occasional outage (often overnight). Is your problem only in the evenings? Do you get closer to full speed during the day?
  6. Yeah I've been stung at Camberwell Station Rd, waiting for my wife to pick up a parcel. That camera must be a great cash cow! I'm kind of torn. Although it was only a short amount of time and inconvenienced nobody so you'd hope a "common sense" approach could be taken, I'm not sure how such a distinction could be made in practise.
  7. Goody. If you send enough of them, I can make a nice pie. So much nicer than sparrow pie.

But yeah, it's a line that I would have found very useful on a few occasions in my twenties. Not.
  9. I prefer squirrels to birds. By quite some margin.

Would be inclined to suggest the latter... music and art make us human. Money and finance are just things we use... tokens and tools..

At no point in my lifetime have thick black rimmed glasses been the only cheapo glasses available. It's also true that they became fashionable about 20 years ago, long before the word "hipster" had made it across the pond or beards were vaguely cool - or even OK.
  12. Otta Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > I thought Life Aquatic was shit first time round to be fair. Seems you have that in common with most of my extended family. Actually... in most Wes Anderson films, not much stuff actually "happens" really. Quirky character based films, often without a traditional story arc. So I can kind of understand the "what-the-hell-is-this-crap" reaction.

I suggested we all watched it, when it was on TV a couple of Christmases ago. Within 10 minutes literally everyone had left the room. Same happened with Life Aquatic wSZ a couple of years before that...

Batwing jumpers? I need to keep up here. Must be tough, being such an individual.
  18. Is it still possible to hide posts from certain users? Or has that feature disappeared?
  19. Fuschia - don't know where you live now, but London/inner-city services are particularly stretched. (although I would be surprised if many were worse affected than DMC).
  20. Congestion on Rye Lane itself is not an issue as far as I can see. But yeah, Blenheim/Holly/Elm Grove might work better. Always worth contesting parking tickets if you have a good case. I contested two really ridiculous ones. I submitted my paperwork ahead of the hearing, the council did not. I won by default.
  21. People say the doctors are good, but I've never seen the same one twice, so hard to draw any sort of conclusion/pattern
  22. Rowanofski Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Jeremy - It isn't traffic wardens who issue these, > it is a camera that picks it up and sends it out > via post. How very modern! Nevertheless, the point remains. The objective is to issue as many tickets as possible, unfortunately the process leaves no room for "common sense" at all. It should. But it doesn't.
  23. The "serves-you-right" responses were/are inevitable. I have sympathy... pretty much every driver sometimes stops off for a minute to drop off someone or pick someone up. But at the same time, surely we all know by now how opportunistic these traffic wardens are. It's their job to issue as many tickets as possible, so there is no incentive for them to use any sort of judgement.

But how long before the roles dry up for him? Whatever else he's in, he's always going to be Jesse Pinkman... And the audience will be expecting him to end every sentence with "bitch!"
