  1. That probably means they don't have to report the fact that it's short. Not that they don't have to report the delay at all...
  2. Apology not necessary..

By the time it comes - if it comes - half of us will have retired. And the tube is certainly not coming to East Dulwich. So the pertinent issue is what can be done to improve national rail services.

I don't hate SC, just don't like them as much as the Jam. Walls Come Tumbling Down is a good song, and could have been on the last Jam album... similarly, Beat Surrender could have easily been a Style Council song. He didn't suddenly become a bad songwriter in the space of a couple of years.
  5. I didn't say overpriced... I said "a bit expensive for my liking". Obviously there are a lot of people around with more money and/or more expensive tastes than me. Not doubting her business skills...

I love The Jam. Especially pre-1980, but even towards the end there was good stuff too. Solo stuff is dull as dishwater, and he looks stupid with his perma-tan and that haircut.
  7. I hate the name too. Would probably only buy stuff from there as a gift, its a bit expensive for my liking.
  8. Also will2015. It did rather "optimistic"... coming on with a username of "pps", defending Will/Chris/Prestige while pretending not to be related.
  9. Apparently the reason they're all down to four cars is because of damage to carriages during the flooing. This of course translates not only to overcrowding, but people being left on the platform, and late running trains while passengers squeeze on and off the train. Some people getting very angry this morning (7:34 train) after being left on the platform... poor driver had to explain that it wasn't his fault.

  11. The bloody brewery hasn't been open for a year!
  12. StraferJack Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > After the birth of your first child and getting > kicked out after visiting hours at Kings, Woah woah. Hold on right there... you mean you chose to go home (via the pub) rather than spend the night in the ward on the floor/chair...

  14. Even though I'm very much in favour of the school and understand their need to maximise space, it is hard to see that this narrow space, right next to the road, could be useful as an "external learning space/garden".
  15. I'm sure *bob* will be standing by with the lotion.
  16. henryb Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > The problems is people complain if cyclists ring > their bells as well so it is a no win. If people really are stupid enough to complain about cyclists using bells, they are not really worth listening to. If cyclists insist on riding in the park, be considerate and use your bell!
  17. London Bridge has been OKish in the evenings for the past few days... more reliable than the Thameslink/Blackfriars route at the moment, I think.
  18. Kids on scooters probably aren't going to knock you over though!

  20. I wonder if he'd give my bathroom a coat of paint in exchange for a bale of hay and a nice bunch of carrots?
  21. KK - I do agree of course that "watching" is not as serious as "doing". As with most crimes there is a sliding scale of guilt. But surely however stong one's urges, their morals should stop them from going as far as funding abuse.
  22. What mistreatment? I don't recall any personal comments, just a bit of (very) gentle ribbing. Besides, he is quick to point out the difference between his online persona (one of perpetual negativity) with the real man (the man all the local shopkeepers wave to, the card tricks, etc). In which case he should consider any perceived "attacks" (even though they are nothing of the sort) to be aimed at the former.
  23. What Rosie said - times 1000.
  24. I won't say "I'm glad he jumped". Rarely does death make the world a better place. But my personal view is that he doesn't deserve your forgiveness or - for what it's worth - your prayers.
  25. I can't really agree with that KK. Buying this stuff is not a victimless crime. If you're paying for it, then you're supporting the creation of more material. This is not my idea of self-restraint.
