  2. Hmm... a discounted rate for two years, after which it goes up to 3.95%. Obviously you'd then shop around again, but the problem is that in two years time mortgages might be quite a bit more expensive. It's always a gamble, either way.

  4. I'd actually use Nandos I reckon. Unlike Carluccios, Jamies, etc.
  5. Thanks antantant. Yep, impressive response time.
  6. It is still "coming soon" according to the website... maybe worth an email/tweet?
  7. One one hand I don't think it would be a stretch to say that many of these towns outside of London are less tolerant (e.g. UKIP support inside London vs the rest of SE England). But at the same time... recently a friend of a friend posted something on Facebook along the lines of "Kent and Essex are full of racists", and it just struck me as really ignorant and smug.
  8. She's the pantomime villain... gets everyone all worked up by saying absurd things day in day out.. enlivening despite being boring..
  9. Yeah... I got a bit of a bollocking for not walking it into the office!
  10. I expect John Kerry is staying at the Victoria Inn.
  11. Well it's no secret that there is a lot of poverty in London. It's not just graduates, young families, hipsters, craft beer and food markets. Besides, I quite like McDonalds... sometimes even fried Chicken. But just because junk is widely available, doesn't change the fact that the quality and variety of food available has improved immeasurably. [ And yes... it has become a bit of a cliche, for the self-proclaimed liberal urban elite to assume that everyone outside of London is a racist, uneducated Daily Mail reader and it is getting a little tiresome. ]

Yes I would have thought that the dead stems you're left with by Jan should be safe to burn. But not convinced that the bin men go round inspecting our bins for JK..
  13. Speaking of car clubs... if you live on a road which ALWAYS has spare parking space (and is in a CPZ), how could we go about suggesting that the council provide a couple of car club spaces?
  14. BrandNewGuy Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > The Flying Pig's OK too, but I'm not fond of the overloud club music on weekend nights. Would put me off too. Last time I went in, it was more REM/Pearl Jam/Weezer kind of selection which is quite up my street. And as Otta said... The Castle definitely had a bit of a spruce up around 4-5 years back. But I hear they still do a mean pint of Strongbow!
  15. Sainsburys car park should do the trick... 3 hrs presumably long enough for most hospital visits. There are a handful of roads within a 10 min walk where you can park for free, but would hesitate to suggest them, because residents struggle to find spaces as it is.

  17. Not everyone has a work blackberry, or remote access to work email. Good for them, tbh...
  18. Actually it was Bellerophon who suggested in was Special Escort Group training. Makes sense to me too.
  19. Yeah that's pretty much it Otta - plus visiting the parents (who live in Kent, and a couple of miles from the station). I get why lots of people don't bother having one, but we find it handy and are lucky to be able to afford it.
  20. Of course frozen and fresh veg taste different, despite nutritional value. It's almost a pointless argument. It's just arguing for the sake of it. [ I'm kind of with Louisa on the car thing though... don't strictly *need* one, but it's a very useful thing to have - trips out of London, B&Q, weekends away with the baby and luggage, etc etc ]
  21. Louisa Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > there's no difference between frozen and fresh veg It's true, Eric and Margaret told me so.
  22. 7.30-3.30... sounds good... is your employer hiring any developers at the moment?
  23. I thought the police offered this as a (paid) service for slebs and suchlike. Training exercise sounds plausible.

Louisa Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Jeremy the trouble is, people of my ilk still > represent a sizeable proportion of the population > who would still use these establishments Well not enough of your ilk were using it! Otherwise it wouldn't have closed. The couple of times I went in there (weekends) it was pretty empty. > I wouldn't fancy eating a wrap whatever that is. Now you're just being silly..

I reckon sometimes dried is better, because it can be cooked al dente. I'd say dried for spaghetti/tagliatelle/etc, and fresh for ravioli and other stuffed pasta.
