  1. Not seen any square ones, but certainly heard of them! Like with the wagyu (and also the most expensive tuna, etc), to us it seems like pointless pursuit of perfection at obscene cost. It will barely taste any different.
  2. You can get wagyu in Japan for affordable-ish prices, but once you get to the top grades you'll be paying over ?100 for a teeny tiny steak. Ridiculous. I think it's as much a prestige/status thing as anything. Suddenly I'm reminded of four watermelons I saw on display in a Japanese supermarket. Something like ?5, ?25, ?50, ?100. The difference? The pattern on the rind, which is apparently indicative of sugar content.
  3. Maybe you could try making that image a tad smaller, david! I'm not really a huge truffle fan... certainly don't think any dish needs more than a subtle shaving of it to get more than enough of the flavour. It can be really overpowering and pungent.
  4. Metal Gear Solid
  5. Help-Ma-Boab Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Meatliquor for burgers. Singapore branch though. I've never been to Meatliquor... I don't queue for food. I have, however, eaten at MeatMarket and I liked it.

  7. I think we've already figured that out, John! Anyone who won't eat sushi, sashimi, ceviche, oysters, rare meat, etc because of food poisoning paranoia is barking mad IMO (except if you're pregnant, maybe). Had some very nice raw red prawns at Rex and Mariano over the weekend...
  8. Forgot to mention Command & Conquer... that probably goes straight in as my #1. El Pibe Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Resident Evil was patchy but loved a couple of those early ones Yeah the early fixed-perspective ones were great, but actually I think my favourite incarnation was probably RE4 on the Wii. After that they started to lose their way and strayed too far from the "survival" gameplay.
  9. Resident Evil Streetfighter Tekken Gran Turismo Struggling for a 5th. Maybe Batman Arkham? Don't really want to suggest anything from the 8-bit era, as much as I loved them at the time, there's no point playing them now excpet for comedy value.
  10. Yep, prices are steep but not totally ridiculous. DC's link is much more impressive. 30 Euro for fruit salad. 65 Euro for a pigeon. One bloody pigeon... damn... Always wanted to try Bresse chicken though. Apparently the place to go for affordable poulet de Bresse is a service station on the A39.
  11. Can we have one in Peckham Rye too please? Sick of constantly losing reception.
  12. Snorky posting about Eurovision? I think I prefer it when he's despairing over our materialistic society.
  13. That is the NY menu though.. London menu here : http://balthazarlondon.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/02/Balthazar_Dinner_Menu_2FEBRUARY2015_-border.pdf
  14. That's like saying One Direction are awful, therefore music is crap.
  15. If you think speaking up against someone bad-mouthing a local business with false information is bullying, then I am baffled.

Spreading false information in order to generate debate is trolling in my book, and pretty unpleasant behaviour. So, OP = troll and I make no apologies.
  17. I think Bradley or Marquez can be made if the money is right..
  18. Boring socialist-lite troll is boring.
  19. Yeah they should have them in Camberwell. Oval and E&C already have them... Camberwell is pretty close, and really needs transport links.
  20. Yeah, like, real funny.
  21. Come on, who wants to cycle one of those bloody things over Dog Kennel Hill? The queue of desperate red-faced wheezing commuters would clog up the bus lane.
  22. You can bet that behind the scenes, management will be furious at the delay. But I guess they thought it best to keep communication informal/casual in line with brand image. But I don't think they have anything to apologise for, they don't owe us anything.
