  1. swissjoel, why do you live in ED if you don't like it? And if you don't like ED, why are you on the forum? Oh, and I realise your comment about white people may well have been deliberately provocative, but either way, it's still a fucking stupid thing to say.

    What car?

Yeah, my first car was a Honda Civic. Not really knowing what I was doing, I took it to a Honda dealer for a service and a replacement wing mirror. Total bill - ?750.

    What car?

Nette, it's an AMC Gremlin. Detroit's answer to the VW Beetle (with a 3.5L engine, of course).

    What car?

It is my ambition to own one of these:
  5. I don't think you can accuse Pegg of selling out - he was always pretty geeky, so stuff like Star Trek and Paul seem like a natural fit. You can accuse him of making a couple of really really bad films though - he's lucky Run Fatboy Run didn't finish him.
  6. Dulwich Village, surely. Never understood all the fuss about Balham.

    What car?

I always thought Kia and Hyundai cars were a bit cheap and nasty. Mind you, that's what people thought about Samsung stuff a few years ago.

    What car?

To be honest if you avoid Vauxhalls or anything French/Italian, you'll probably be fine.

  10. The website actually looks pretty good. I'm baffled by the rest of his post, though.

    What car?

    Why?

    What car?

So you want a small family car? Skoda, Toyota, Honda always do well in the JD Power survey (customer satisfaction).
  14. Wulli Wulli, Dulwich Tandoori, Firezza.
  15. Penguin, I applaud you for trying, but it's like banging your head against a brick wall. People seem to think that the council specifically rejected an M&S store. From James' blog: East Dulwich councillors had called-in this decision due to impacts it would have and that so many details had not been properly thought through. So we?ve now heard that the application has been assessed by council planning officers as being unacceptable on transport and amenity grounds and has been rejected.
  16. I've no problem with Il Mirto doing two seatings. Losing the booking though... that's a different story.
  17. Yeah, a lot of it is absolutely brilliant, no doubt. Delirious is more offensive.... Raw not quite so bad, as I remember. But still a few really uncomfortable moments.
  18. Looks like there are still a couple of issues to be resolved with Southwark before the work can begin - approval for cycle and refuse storage, and asbestos removal.

  20. Perhaps there is still misinformation on the thread, but everyone seems to know the truth now. James has apologised. So maybe we could let this drop...
  21. This whole brouhaha inspired me to take a trip to Iceland for myself while I still have the chance. The fresh stuff didn't seem much cheaper than Saino's (apart from the odd special offer), and the selection was tiny. The frozen food however was dirt cheap. In fact I can't think of any cheaper way to feed yourself. But it was pretty grotty stuff. http://fishfingersarnie.blogspot.co.uk/2013/03/weekend-in-iceland.html
  22. Indeed I was joking. And disagreeing (strongly) with polla2256's remarks at the same time.
  23. Yeah, I know - but nothing definite. I hope they do re-open.
  24. ScoopED has already closed down.

Don't worry, you'll be fine, there are plenty of us SE5 dwellers here. You're even getting the hang of the local lingo ("Denmark Hill" sounds so much more pleasant than "Camberwell").
