  1. I really liked The Office and Extras, but his stand-up is just not funny. At all. Peter Kay... I just don't get it. Is talking in a Northern accent funny?

    Don't be a plank, TopTree!
  3. Alarms are a great deterrent. But realistically the coppers aren't going to arrive in the 5 mins it takes burglars to grab your laptop, jewellery, etc.
  4. I've seen birthday parties going on in the community centre thingy on the northern side of the Rye.
  5. Huguenot - this is facilitating the open market, not disrupting it.
  6. Wish I could have joined you... DT is my favourite local curry house.

But the title of the thread is "M&S planning application to replace Iceland", so I'm not sure what you're getting at. > I miss Blue mountain. I believe it will be back after a refurb.
  8. I think most people admire (to varying degrees) the way he redistributed oil wealth to benefit the poor. But he made the country an impossible envrionment for foreign investment, in the long term his country will suffer for his ideology.
  9. Yeah, right on. In fact, I suggest that shops should only be allowed to between 10am and 1pm. And on the Sabbath, such things should be totally prohibited as we should be dedicating ourselves to thanking the Lord (for he hath given us fish fingers and Haagen Dazs ice cream). Or we could join the 21st century.
  10. Looks nice. From the photos on Tripadvisor, there appears to be a river, and some sort of castle out the back.
  11. I agree with Mikey P, it sounds like some people are just using the alcohol argument to scare-monger.
  12. The police station would be an ideal spot, and it can't be more than a two minute walk from Iceland. But I don't think anybody knows what's happening with the building.
  13. I actually wonder if the people who fall for this scam are intending to hand it into the cop shop or the porn shop. It seems really unlikely that somebody would part with ?10 of their own cash just so they could hand in an item of unknown value.
  14. I doubt I'd use an M&S much, but I'd probably pop in now and again. Sainsbury's is more conveninent for me for evening shopping. M&S sell better steaks I guess, and some nice puddings.
  15. Glad it went well. I had loads of sauce left over too last time I made it... it actually makes a reasonable soup.
  16. I would extrapolate, and suggest that most people are scumbags.
  17. I like them. Pimptastic.
  18. Come back with a Molotov cocktail.
  19. I think Southwark council should organise a refurendum on the opening hours of Co-op's Lordship Lane branch.

But some people who got a mortgage pre-credit crunch could be on as little as 0.6% above base. There's no way you could get anywhere near that now, regardless of how much equity you have. Surely this just equates to screwing customers out of hundreds of pounds a month.
  21. Are you talking about A Levels? Surely kids can revise in their homes, or their school libraries.
  22. Straight edge http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Straight_edge
  23. Surely the first point is not legitimate grounds for objection to a planning application.
  24. I think you're missing the point, LM. The customers affected won't be able to get their old rate on the current market.
