  1. Does anybody else have two brown bins? Not just the small one (which looks like it's supposed to fit onto something, but I'm not sure what), but also a slightly larger brown one too. Is the idea that you keep the smaller one in your kitchen, and the larger one stays outside? Can you put general recylcing (cans, plastic, etc) in the larger brown one?
  2. Surely the fact that it's from the Green Party is reason enough not to read it.
  3. There's a pretty long list of stuff you can recycle at Vale Street, including electrical equipment.
  4. There are public waste sites in Vale Street (West Dulwich) and Manor Place (off Walworth Road).

There are times when the audio will cut out entirely, but it shouldn't go weak/fuzzy/noisy. Like a digital TV hooked up to an indoor ariel... when reception isn't strong enough, you find out pretty abruptly, there's no sublte degradation in quality.
  6. Bob - it's just radio waves, emitted in all directions.
  7. Have I deciphered your post correctly? I thought most Indian restaurants served lassi!
  8. Don't know about you... after taking a steaming dump, a bit of dirt on the floor or from somone's hand is the least of my worries.
  9. We already have two Thai and three Italian restaurants in East Dulwich...
  10. I agree that the Victoria service is more useful than the London Overground for a lot of people. However, I've been told that the South London line being axed has nothing to do with the London Overground, apparently it's to make room for extra Thameslink services at London Bridge.

  12. Glad to hear you had a good time in Thailand.
  13. It's there to see on www.sainsburys.co.uk...

  15. I think both the Tories and Labour have to compromise their ideologies to ensure broader support. And that's not necessarily all bad.
  16. According to BBC news, the sentence has been overturned by the King, so at least some common sense has prevailed. There seems to be some gentle optimism that the stance towards such things is softening, and there is a gradual shift to allowing women to participate in society. I think the King really has little choice - reforms have to come quickly if he wants the monarchy to survive.
  17. The Mexican place is a great example of how our expectations have changes in recent years. You could probably say the same about some of the Indian restaurants, but even so, we don't need another Indian restaurant in East Dulwich (anyway, I'm unashamedly fond of the trad british curry house).
  18. I wasn't suggesting that hygeine standards and inspections were a waste of time. Just echoing David's point that I don't think it should be the primary consideration when choosing a restaurant.
  19. Putting your sim in the hard drive? Don't try this at home, kids!
  20. Betterat50m - have you met DulwichMoan yet? You might get on well!
  21. Yes, it stands to reason that big chains will have more established food safety procedures. Doesn't mean I necessarily want to eat there.

  23. Thanks James. I was wondering what the new bridge was in aid of! Yes, it does seem ironic that space previously used for trains is now used for car parking, but presumably there will many staff who need to get home after the trains have stopped.
  24. A good Mexican would be very welcome, as would a nice Chinese (I'd happily settle for Cantonese as long as it was half decent). Japanese would also be handy (but not conveyor-belt sushi or dishwater ramen). But please, not another Indian.
  25. Sounds like he's a bit of a nobody, but fair play, he fooled a lot of people for 24hrs.
