  1. 4. I kill them. Sorry, I really can't stand them.
  2. You're not the only one who thinks so: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/8269600.stm
  3. I've got one. Work gave it to me. I check my email on it. I don't know what model it is. Hope that helps.

Back in the day, you could park at the West India Quay cinema for ?5 a day. Or in the big muddy car park for the same. It's all changed now, though. Not that I go there much these days.

Hey, talking of pies, I know a great meat supplier: http://www.puppybeef.com/products.php

I sometimes buy ale if I'm making a pie. Bombardier makes a nice gravy.

That is an interesting point, DC. I actually went to the real ale thing at Earl's court a couple of years ago, and tried maybe 7 real ales. They did indeed taste different, but had one thing in common - they were all fuking disgusting.
  9. Ah. Never try to grab another man's weapon.

This is pretty much what I am getting at. I will accept that in bottles it's not bad (but not that special)... but on tap, it really just tastes like everything else. And is often the most expensive beer, sometimes even nudging the ?4 mark. Why?

A lot of the acitivity in the city is/was sound. For instance, there's no reason for the derivatives/structured businesses not to come back stronger than ever. What we will see is a reduction in risk (and less instruments with 'abstract' risk characteristics), and banks holding more capital.

Generic lager. Over-rated and over-priced. Discuss.
  15. I'm sure Mikecg used to be alright. When did he turn into a wierdo?
  16. Another problem - most of us live nowhere near Nunhead station!
  17. njc97 - the train is fine (and quite reliable) but the Jubilee line sucks in rush hour. Saying that, back when I worked in CW, I used to do it in around 45 mins, starting near the Plough. When you say "Can't imagine why you'd want to drive anywhere in the morning"... ED to Surrey Quays shouldn't take over 20 mins, but of course that would scupper any impromptu boozing! chica1 - The 381 is a very slow route (aren't they all??), I would avoid it. alice - if you're going to cycle to Bermondsey, why not cycle all the way?
  18. A bridge would have been great. Even a lightweight cycle/pedestrian bridge would be good. Oh well...
  19. I probably used to be your neighbour... I got a bit pissed off with living very close to a pub (and everything that comes with it) but the majority of customers always seemed fine to me. Maybe the best tactic might be to try and make a joke back at them, turn it into a bit of friendly banter. Actually on second thoughts - put brick in handbag, swing bag at their heads.
  20. Will try to make the next one... have fun...

Possibly not, as half the industry has moved to Canary Wharf! Not to mention a whole load of back-office "low cost" sites around the country. Unfortunately I don't any stats either, so this is likely to remain in the realms of speculation...

  24. Oh yeah... I didn't see that you got in there first. OK, ?990,000. But that's my final offer.
  25. You might be hard pressed to find a nice place in ED for a million. But it just so happens that I have a nice place in the area which I could part with for that amount... let me know...
