  1. Big Long Now - Nirvana
  2. Man, you need help.
  3. It reminds me of the picture of the huge snake which swallowed an alligator. A combination of the sheer size of the prey, and the fact that it may have been clawing from the inside, meant that it burst out from the middle of the snake. With very odd looking results. Perhaps this is something similar? http://cellar.org/2005/pythonvsgator.jpg
  4. I'll be there. I'm committing to it. No messing around. Didn't you guys guys to the CC quite recently though?
  5. 2 Flaming Montagues for me, please. Don't look at me like that. You're allowed to unwind on a Friday night.
  6. I guess it's a fake sports car... primarily for posing purposes. Same principal applies.
  7. I think he prefers the round numbers of 100 and 1000. Anyway... Come as you are - Nirvana
  8. Is "3000" worth anything? Where's quids...
  9. SMG, that's not how it works. You don't let someone off the hook because the victim no longer thinks that punishment is not necessary.
  10. Are we talking about big cars, or sports cars? For instance, someone in a 10 year old battered estate car obviously isn't trying to compensate for anything. But a guy in an Audi TT probably has issues...
  11. What is a swoonboat? Is that a word you use often? And you missed out the greasy ponytails. And the silver suits. And the turtleneck sweaters.
  12. I've always found it strange how he was able to pick up his career after all this. If this stuff about the plea bargain is true, can we expect a re-trial?

Just taking the piss. That's all.
  14. Keef Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > I do however, question the need for BBW's somewhat drawn out macho tale of his Friday night. Yep... booze, drugs, fight, black guys (cos they think we're cool). But would you expect anything else from BBW?
  15. Relaxed view... grow at home... smuggling... yeah of course, but I don't see that it equates to a distinction between "good drug" and "bad drug". There are still plenty of parallels. (cross posted with everyone, but don't care)
  16. A few people on here go on all the time about having a spliff. So why act so outraged when BBW says he had some charlie on the weekend? OK so he does rather go on about it, in the boring way that people who take coke tend to do... it may me tedious, but not particularly offensive (to me at least). DM - it's hard to tell when you're posting in character and when you're trying to be serious... but there's a pretty high chance that your kids will try drugs of some description in the future. The best you can do is to make sure that when the time comes, they're equipped to make an informed decision.
  17. There are loads. I play in a band, and have played in a few others since I've lived in ED. "The Dream Machine" (used to be on Lordship Lane, now do nights in Herne Hill) often put on unsigned bands. Bands used to play at Dulwich Hamlets for a while, too. As Keef says - why do you ask?
  18. I would support a means tested child allowance. It's easy to say that you should only have kids if you have the means to support them... but situations can change. I don't agree with the idea that just because you pay tax, you deserve to claim benefits in return.
  19. Tell her to get a perm instead! Problem solved. http://cecilvortex.com/brian_may_23.jpg
  20. Sounds fine to me. In fact, ?1000 for that lot wouldn't be unreasonable.
  21. To avoid the Crystal Palace triangle : go via Kirkdale, Lawrie Park Road, Thicket Road, Auckland Road, etc...
  22. Ah, but silverfox... you can get frozen chips which are ready to deep-fry. And (I imagine) they react in a particularly volatile fashion when they initially hit the oil. That would be the way to go. The problem would be making sure nobody finds out you'd been round their house.
  23. I don't want quids gloating over this one.
  24. Actually...
  25. The solar power from Africa seems like a cracking idea to me, and it could really benefit local economies if done correctly. Ideally it would be part of some "global grid", as discussed on these pages before. So we're not totally reliant on power from any one source. Power would be contributed to this global grid by solar power from Spain and Africa... wave and wind from Scandinavia and Russia... nuclear from France (and Iran!), etc etc.
