  1. You do get some proper nutters on here, don't you? [ although to be fair, I thought the OP's complaint about parents and kids walking three abreast seemed bizarrely intolerant... it can be a busy road, and wanting to hold your children's hands seems reasonable to me ]

    Pure Alcohol

Sounds quite nice to me. Basil and sugar go well. I imagine basil, sugar and alcohol works too.

    Football Focus

Load of shite. If they can't beat Russia or Slovakia they shouldn't even be there. Thoroughly expecting them to get sent packing in the next round.
  4. If a bird allows itself to get caught by a cat, it's obviously bloody stupid.. and should make way for more intelligent species.
  5. Shocking doesn't begin to describe it. Made me feel physically sick, even more so when I read about her kids.

    Pure Alcohol

If you're feeling adventurous, you could try re-distilling vodka to increase the strength!
  7. Is the bit about using your own caterers essential? Could make things difficult. Peckham Liberal Club? A little scruffy but also has a certain cool retro charm. Or a church hall? I don't think a private house would be a good idea from a noise perspective.

Fox - assuming you're still on the old Orange plan, log into your account on the website, click "upgrade to EE", and there are cheaper/better options to be had.

Think I'm on the same package, Fox. 500MB is pretty poor these days though - and it's not even 4G! Phone coverage is OK-ish but data drops out all the time. I really need to shop around...

  12. It seems that there is a "lady gardener" advertising her services on the forum... http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=lady%20garden
  13. Handsome indeed, but would shit myself if I saw one in the house (not so bad in the garden). I saw a vid on youtube a while ago, of some idiot who let one of these things "bite" his tongue. Unsurprisingly, it hurt.
  14. Well, serious swimmers would want cool water. Recreational users would warm water (outside of summer months at least). Not sure you can keep both happy.

Yeah... the superior, sanctimonious attitude amongst some of the remainers is almost enough to make me vote leave.

  17. So... new owners, or just a re-launch? Same interior?
  18. "Cutting in" = painting the edges If wall and celling are same colour - and you supplied the paint yourself - it sounds rather unusual to me too.
  19. I don't know... Brockley is getting quite popular now. It's not like it's some undiscovered secret - especially since the market started. And there are some pretty impressive looking houses around. It is a little bit cheaper than ED... maybe because it doesn't have much of a "centre", and is a bit spread out. But it's a decent area.
  20. I was being a little flippant Louisa... of course it will remain a highly desirable area thanks to the grand properties and village-like aesthetic. But it's not for me - and especially now the pub's gone, I've no reason to go there (I'm sure the gallery is lovely, but it's not really my scene).
  21. I'd go as far as to say that Dulwich Village is even more dull than Tunbridge Wells! It's a picturesque spot, but boring. And a bland budget hotel is now going to be the only place you can get a pint. Proximity to ED and Herne Hill are it's main redeeming features... how times have changed...
  22. I was under the impression that Bill Clinton is remembered much more fondly over there than Tony Blair is over here...
  23. Isn't it just a rebranding?
  24. I have to say that I'm not personally comfortable with overt, flag-waving patriotism (apart from perhaps during major sports events). Not that I'm looking down or sneering at anybody. I just find it hard to summon much in the way of pride towards our country. There's plenty I like about England/Britain... but also plenty that I don't.
