  2. Was wondering the same thing. Is it something like people in the "bread circle" take it in turns to bake batches of bread for everyone?
  3. Don't know the opening times. But we went in for lunch on Sunday. It's a pretty small menu (breakfasts, sandwiches, salads, scotch eggs/sausage rolls, and of course cakes) but food was quite good. Interior feels rather unfinished, but I guess that's not surprising.
  4. Fox - that looks like a winner, I will keep an eye out for it!
  5. Surely that just means it's too expensive..
  6. Yep looks like it's closed for a while due to techincal (or structural... or both?) issues which need resolving.

Fry's Turkish Delight is definitely milk chocolate. Not had one recently, but I remember it as a fine chocolate bar indeed.
  8. rrr - it's a cafe and sh!sha lounge, according to the signs in the window.
  9. Harvey Keitel (Wolf) from Pulp Fiction
  10. Maybe you're a few years younger than me dave_f, but amongst people I know in my age range, it's more of a mixture. Some staying in London (either scraping together the money for a house, or living in a flat with their families). Some moving out to the home counties and commuting in. Some returning to their original home towns in other parts of the UK. Some deciding that the marriage/family route isn't for them and happy to continue renting in places like Hackney or whatever.
  11. Victorian conversions - sound proofing usually pretty bad. Victorian houses - usually reasonably good.

I will try to avoid it! tfwsoll Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > There's a wide range of chocolate between > Cadbury's and the 85% single estate stuff. I know Cadbury's is pretty low down on the "quality" scale, but nevertheless it always hits the spot for me, especially Whole Nut. The same way that fish finger sandwich with cheese and a fried egg is not a gourmet meal... but few things hit the spot in quite the same way.

  14. I think the house number stones embedded into the front walls on some roads were also included in the scheme. There's a retired guy who always walks his dog along our road who I sometimes chat with.. he claims this was his idea!
  15. The inability for first time buyers to buy a home is shocking, but statements like "the fact is that people are leaving London in huge numbers" or "London has lost its' reputation as a city of fun and opportunity" just sound like one person's rather bitter experiences rather than any real substance.
  16. It's in a conservation area? Really?
  17. Miserable gits? With that playlist blasting out, they're lucky not to get a brick through the window!
  18. Yeah, it sounds familiar AM... but I think the debate was about other ingredients (vegetable fat?) rather than milk. I just have a sweet tooth... most dark chocolate is too bitter for me, and I can't drink coffee without sugar.
  19. Cadburys chocolate is delicious... yes its sickly and milky and fatty... that's what i like. You can take your 85% cocoa single estate nonsense and shove somewhere REALLY dark!
  20. Mars, Snickers etc definitely were made smaller relatively recently. Wouldn't be surprised if Cadburys did the same...
  21. Louisa.. do you REALLY use Iceland online shopping?
  22. Was that a clue? Are you talking about the principal from Ferris Beuller? (He gets attacked by a dog at one point in the film)
  23. Nothing unreasonable about it, but it always leads to the same old "that could be me/my kids/etc you're talking about", etc, i.e. accusations of stereotyping.

  25. mynamehere Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Very important to stand up to them I kind of agree, but at the same time, whether you stand up to bullies or not is a personal choice, not something we should feel compelled to do out of duty.
