  1. See http://www.southwark.gov.uk/yourservices/parkssection/azparks/dulwich.html
  2. There were several cake stalls, and they all looked delicious!
  3. All that and the official "unveiling" of the Blake mural too! And Krispy Kreme donuts....mmmmmm>:D<
  4. If it is a private NCP car park why would there be traffic wardens in there levying ?60 fines??
  5. Still five goslings there this afternoon - no thanks at all to the heron who got angrily beaten off by the livid, honking parents!
  6. The best real women are all fictional it seems.. Emma Peel (D. Rigg) Barbarella (J. Fonda) Becky in Coronation Street "Bones" etc etc One needs a sense of proportion in these matters - as Kipling succinctly put it "A woman is only a woman, but a good cigar is a smoke" >:D< SimonM
  7. In the interests of Yorkshire solidarity I wish Leeds every good luck on Monday! Home teams double will do veyr nicely!>:D
  8. Chelsea did have two good penalty shouts in the first half - but they still had a number of glaring opportunities to go 2-0 up which they messed up. The players can moan all they want but they blew it. The final now should have lots of goals, what with all those banned Barca defenders and both sides rich with attacking talent......(now it'll be 0-0....). Barca looked the better footballing side throughout and deserved to go through, 10 men and all. The Sky "pundits"' criticisms of the referee not being up to the job because he was Norwegian were ludicrous.
  9. In Peckham Rye Park ths afternoon and counted 6 coot chicks. Three "singles" each with a parent, and a trio of younger ones being sort-of supervised by a clearly harassed mother! I suppose there'll be the usual mortality rate there... Of more interest was the island in the Japanese garden....two turtles head to head, courting perhaps? B) or whatever it is they do....I think she was shy and he was trying to get her to come out of her shell a bit....:))
  10. I am glad they are back and trying again, but if they are nesting so low down I do really fear the worst!
  11. I see Downing allegedly already thinks he is on his way to Liverpool for ?12million... I am not sure London can be classed as a "hotbed" of football either, given how massive the population is....not compared to the North West!:))
  12. As far as I know they have just the one other, original shop up at Crystal Palace
  13. Well I hope Sunderland do because that way we may get to buy Greg Halford cheap. But I think it'll be the other two North East teams, with Hull outsiders (and even if they survive I'll be surprised if they last beyond a second season)
  14. Must take me camera to the Nunhead open day on the 16th!!
  15. Millwall v Leeds on Saturday sounds fun....:)-D
  16. I did see a "shop to let" sign in the window last week...but hope they are just relocating.
  17. I would not automatically blame the cat....there's a lot of magpies around and they really are vicious bastards!
  18. Well Leeds made the play-offs last year but lost to the mighty Donny Rovers as I recall...It's about time that sleeping giant woke up properly though!
  19. Pigs might fly.... (sorry)
  20. So about the same strength as a typical homeopath remedy then? And some people swear by those apparently....;-)
  21. Oh very well dammit! Chelsea 2 Fulham 0 Man City 2 Blackburn 0 Middlesbrough 0 Man Utd 3 Portsmouth 1 Arsenal 1 Stoke City 1 West Ham 0 Tottenham 3 West Brom 1 Wigan Athletic 1 Bolton 0 Liverpool 3 Newcastle 0 Sunderland 1 Everton 1 Aston Villa 3 Hull City 0
  22. Oh come on this weekend the Premiership is irrelevant! The important stuff is all happening on Sunday! Defeat for Warnock and victory for Coppell please!!!>:D
  23. >1/ Theme From A Summer Place 1960--Evokes memories of endlessly warm Summer days walking thru' the orchards and building >tree-houses and receiving toffee apples from the Ladt on the caravan site who spent all day, every day making them. >Childhood bliss for 8/9 weeks every Summer escaping from Inner London's concrete jungle. Percy Faith & his Orchestra IIRC. Noone remembers the film though, much as noone remembers "Unchained" - only its melody! >3/ More Than I Can Say - Bobby Vee, one of the 1st records that I bought in 1960 again< The Beatles used to play this in Hamburg - incredibly!
  24. Her "other place" on Underhill Road is to let through Foxton's: not to be confused with her "other place" in Yorkshire or the one in St Tropez... B)
  25. And presumably, attending a 'prestigious* local independent school' as he does, he then proceeded to say it in three different languages? B) *I thought only estate agents used this adjective, when describing pokey flats?
