  1. It seems a high mortality rate for a heron. When there are ducklings/goslings in Dulwich Park the numbers only seem to shrink gradually, and the heron are there all the time. I'm wondering about rats too.
  2. >>Does this one belong to Linda? Think i recognise it from come dine with me!!<< I don't think so - it's too close to the junction with Belvoir Road. There's another house just there that had a lot of money spent on it a few years back.
  3. The bit about the Christmas trees shows a hint of depseration I think??
  4. The "South London Press" was bound to have covered it.
  5. Are you going in fancy dress to the First Division play-off final then? :))
  6. I often see that turtle there. I hope he is not alone!
  7. But what cut of steak was it?? And had the chips been made from scratch?
  8. Hardly "futile", given that so many DVD players these days are multi-region. Press conjuring up a non-story yet again!
  9. have you had "The Singing Detective" & "I, Claudius" from the Beeb? There's also two series of "Rome" of course.... I wish they'd issue "Tutti Frutti" as a box set. Best of all though, 3 boxed sets of "Heimat" !
  10. Now that looks really horrible.....reminds me of the automatic, coin-operated chips machine they used to have in Guy's Hospital... Oh, and not to be left out, after having sublime pizza in a Sorrento pizzeria* a few years ago I could not face any UK pizza for months afterwards... * Italian word for "cafe what sells poncy welsh rarebit"
  11. >> Quote: Where on earth does Louisa say she does not care, or is past caring, about global warming/climate control? Well, here for a start. << ER no she does *not*!:)
  12. Where on earth does Louisa say she does not care, or is past caring, about global warming/climate control? And why is it not possible to care about the local theft and vandalism of daffodils - which by the way will probably prevent them blooming in future years - at the same time as global issues?
  13. Red squirrels are extinct in the UK except for a few areas the grey monster has not invaded. So your sighting is a puzzle indeed. I think we get your jay here too from time to time. He/she or his ancestors have been making sporadic visits for at least a dozen years. We also get a robin and his missus, various kinds of tits and finches, mr and mrs blackbird, sparrows and the occasional woodpecker down from Sydenham woods presumably. The magpies and pigeons which also visit cannot get into the birdfeeders, as they are too big, but as the smaller birds are messy eaters they clean up the ground beneath. The parakeets also stop by still...
  14. >>When at college, I went to see The Nolans. << But did you pull one of them? If so, time to get it off your chest... :)
  15. So that's Vidic, Scholes & Rooney all suspended....good job they have strength in depth eh? B)
  16. >>Burped. Never have.<< It must happened on a daily basis when you were a baby surely?! :)
  17. bought a lottery ticket
  18. All I know is that He loves Mrs Robinson (more than she will know) :))

I think CSI cannot really survive the loss of Grissom - it's one major character - the major character - too many to leave. Apparently CSI Miami is the most watched TV show in the world - even though some of the plots have been truly ludicrous and David Caruso and Emily Proctor look like audition rejects from Thunderbirds. These days "Bones" is definitely better. I mean Emily Deschanel, oh my! >:D<
  20. I think Mrs Robinson can now truly be said to have arrived now it has been badmouthed in the EDF. I mean, the list of pubs, cafes, food shops, book shops, who have all taken flak for one reason or another - selling expensive tat, selling cheap tat, bad service, bad coffee, too middle-class, too working-class, needs a lick of paint etc etc etc - is almost endless. The few that don't make it to this roll of honour are either very special indeed - Hello Farmer's! - or genuinely mediocre. >:D
  21. McDonald's is so popular that both the Forest Hill & Upper Norwood branches have closed in the last few years... B)
  22. Agree about Phil Brown's excellent applause for the travelling fans. But what short memories the Hull players have. In the 5th Round replay against Sheffield United the referee made two such serious errors (a goal where the ball did not cross the line, a booking for diving for a United player which was clearly a penalty) that he actually telephoned Kevin Blackwell after the game to apologise. That said, United got the benefit of similar errors in each of the two following Championship games, both won, and I'd take those six points aainst another drubbing at the Emirates any day! >:D
  23. You can shop online for Lakeland you know!
  24. >>Have you heard Warnock is now planning a personal lawsuit against the Hammers for loss of earnings etc...>As are many of the Sheffield United players!<< Again, evidence? The players concerned have always denied this after one of the pro-London clubs tabloid rags claimed last year they were seeking legal advice.
  25. Oh yes the Pie van is terrific. Last weekend they were doing bacon, potato and pea pasties as an experiment...most enjoyable!
