  1. I'd say not. I'd have thought it was a fairly low risk game to try out a forward combination of Owen and Rooney. It's also still relatively cold in Madrid during the winter so whether that's a contributing factor or not I am not sure. Still, we have the luxury, at the moment, of having replacements for him and I am sure he will be fighting to get fit again.
  2. On a brighter note, Giggs looked great again last night and then there's the nes that Hargreaves will be back training in the next few weeks: The Original Owen!
  3. Yossi gets better and better thought doesn't he? Sounds like your two yanks are going to try and get out of the club too which can only be good news.

  5. Is this some very convoluted ryhming slang joke?
  6. I hate smileys too. I've just learned to use them to try and not start rows. I think they are stupid things if the truth be told.
  7. I like that. Is that Rafa on the left in the fluro jacket? :))
  8. Good old Teddy. I might pop down there.
  9. If he can manipulate time like that it'll be the PFA Young Player he wins.
  10. Nah, that can't be true. Giggs would be too knackered to have been playing for that long. I would expect a correction to someone like Macheda. :))
  11. If you'd photoshopped him tapping his watch I'd agree.
  12. Now with added attachment MM!
  13. Maybe you can preface them with a standardised prefix, something like ***MANC RANT*** then I will know not to read them. ;-)
  14. Matt, you are off again! Do you see any other clubs in the league or is there only United and Liverpool. The fan who threw a coin is an idiot, as is any fan who throws objects at players. The fan who came onto the pitch is an idiot too. I have friends who go to games home and away and wouldn't ever consider doing anything of the sort. United will punish them just as they will be punished by the police if it is appropriate. Why don't you try to get through every other post with out slagging off United? ;-)
  15. There's always an exception to prove the rule.
  16. I believe in the NFL and NBA play continues after full time and the clock has stopped until the ball is dead. A hail mary can be thrown before the buzzer and score after it and still count.
  17. Keef and Jaybee I think I love you. Those sites are exactly what I have been looking for. I can now stop torturing the wife, kid and cats with my only two songs (House of the Rising Sun and Sit Down). :))
  18. I think that Vermaelen fella is looking like a pretty good find for Arsenal. He seems like a good centre back to me. I'm not sure why Ajax would have let him go. I only say best club in the country because we are current champions.
  19. Whether it was "over celebration" (and who could blame them? Getting an equalizer against the best club in the country, away, is worth celebrating ;-)) or not it was nigh on a minute to add to the clock, plus 30 secs each mandatory extra time for a goal and substitution. I think people are clutching at straws. We won the game in the time allotted by the ref. Therefore we get three points. That's how it works. :))
  20. I do wonder at the logic sometimes. If you look at any sport, especially those where a lot of money is at stake, you will find people who are prepared to go as far as is legal and sometimes beyond to be the top team/performer. Would Michael Schumacher have been as successful if he wasn't prone to nugde a rival off the track as he passed him? Would the Aussies have been so dominant in cricket without world class sledging to go with their world class team? Ferguson takes this to another level. If he really has that much influence over refereeing strategy in this country (and I doubt he does) then surely it's his job to take advantage of it? There's enough pressure on players and managers to perform so why not refs? If the people who employ officials in the game are stupid enough to bow to pressure from an individual manager then more power to him if he uses that to his advantage. Pretty much all the non-united fans hate the guy anyway and as I am sure he would say, it's not popularity contest. Maybe it's time for other mangers to grow a pair? Jose had the right idea and did similar things.* *This is just a point for discussion, I am not sure even I totally think this is the right attitude but I thought it might be interesting to discuss it.

  22. Where am I? Who said that? ;-) No, I didn't bang my head. Maybe a bit too much sun but none-the-less I stick by my statement. Personally, if I'd have been Sparky I'd have gone in there windmilling! I think there's a case for both of them to be disciplined actually. And in case you want a lesson in windmilling it's either Quids or this geezer. Tilting at windmills.
  23. Interesting clip Anna. I would have thought there would be grounds for some sort of official complaint from City on that evidence. I would have been furious if I were Hughes. Fergie is Fergie and you won't stop him talking to the fourth official or anyone else but I would have thought the official should be given a talking to about professionalism. They are paid to do a job and not to jolly around.
