It was Ratty. But then he won the lot. My particular favourite was seeing him interviewed wearing his European Cup winners medal. The interview ended and he looked into camera, picked up the medal from his chest, kissed it and said "This one's for the Gooners." :)) Couldn't have happened to a nicer chap if you ask me.

Seaman was prone to switching off and coming too far off his line. He was a great shot stopper but so was Fabien Barthez apparently.

Foster has to be in with a shout, but he's been a bit shaky at the start of the season. I can't see Milner changing a game but could see Lennon doing something special. If the Brum defence carries on as it has then I think Hart would be a good back up.

Croatia should be a forgone conclusion tonight. I wouldn't be suprised if we screw it up or at least make it difficult for ourselves but what's the betting that we qualify easily and then don't make it out of the group stages in SA after a winter of hype? Can we not just ban those who name call, swear excessively and are abusive? I'm thinking of one person in particular here. I have tried to be as fair and even handed as possible and get debates going on other subjects but there are certain forumist who just want to go back to the schoolyard. :'(

Matt, noone suggested Ronaldo was a modern day Pele (why would we need two :))). I think that Rd and myself just think it's a little ridiculous to suggest that the only two people in the world of football, Ronaldo himself and SAF, think that Ronaldo is one of the world's best players. I'm sure even you see that as a little silly.

I'd like to see him play for England again, but I don't think he will. Not sure itf it's a personal thing with Cappello as I am sure he'd rather win the games than keep up a personal feud/dislike (whatever it is). I just don't think Cappello rates him.

All I saw was contact with the player. In which case they are all penalties or free kicks.
