  1. golden wonders are good but shall check with my mum an let you know. Most of the supermarket ones are rubbish. Asked at Borough market if they had any British Queens a while back and got some funny looks!
  2. Think colcannon should be kale, plenty butter, not so much milk, salt & pepper just make sure absolutely no lumps in the mash and use a decent potato. We used scallions (spring onions) and still called it colcannon. Coddle is digusting anaemic stuff tasted ok but lacking in aesthetics.
  3. If you look on either sydenham or forest hill forum there is a really nice walk planned for Sunday. Through Nuhead Cemetary over Oe Tree Hill, Horniman Gardens, Coxes Walk and I think on to Crystal Palace you could join part of it or do the whole thing. Nunhead Cemetary is nice for a walk stop somewhere for lunch Costa Smeralda Nunhead Lane or Rye Hotel with a stroll through Pekham Rye park go into the actual Park the gated bit if you've not been really nice wins out over Dulwich Park imho for character

  7. Victim support were great when I was burgled a month ago. Didn't feel I needed them for the counselling support but for the home security side of things. They put much more secure locks on my door and little alarms for the window it really helped to feel my home was more secure. The police were also great.

  15. once it's not too hot we'll be ok
  16. oh for gods sake the roads & paths should have been gritted adequetly days ago it's not just about people being able to get to work and back but about essential & emergency services being able to respond to the needs of a community, I work in A&E and ambulances are finding it difficult to negotiate the roads, meals on wheels and home helps, district nurses can't get to people. Renal patients can't get to their dialysis, the list goes on
  17. I notice a post has gone maybe someone knows more than the rest of us was this not locked a few minutes ago.
  18. Hardly your fault, but your input is very helpful for keeping people informed
  19. The quuestion was how do you get home. I left work at 8 this morning and all was fine so people would have had little excuse or the choice not to go to work, I checked the forecast throughout the night and this weather or lack of the ability to deal with it was not forecast.
  20. yeah very easy if you're pregnant or infirm or have toddlers in tow, not all are fit young men!
