It's about time someone made a stand- the faith schools in this country are riddled with homophobic hate. The issues are not even discussed in pshe lessons- they seem to have an exemption from discussing that LGBT people are Equal in the eyes of the law. The extreme christians (and there is a lot of extreme christian propaganda coming from the USA increasingly) and muslims are brainwashed from cradle to 18 years old when they the get their first 'taste' of the LGBT world at university.....kudos to Sheffield for being the first- and hopefully not the last

You can be excused if your school has OFSTED (although you might want to do it then!)

My sister had no trouble getting office jobs in small businesses after she was 50- one of the interviewers actually told her that one of the reasons she got the job was because she was unlikely to go off and breed!

You could always take a small bottle of hand gel in with you- the driers in Ikea are the best- you get a free hand massage with those!

The man is a fool- where does he think people will drive now?- they will avoid the zone- just like they avoid the C zone- by using the ring roads etc.... Also if you go to East London where the roads are jam-packed all day long with old cars- it's rush hour 24/7 there are loads of children breathing in the fumes.... The way the e-mail is worded is sickening- The Tories are responsible for Air Pollution are they? What about the idiot motorists (like ex- Tower Hamlets mayor Luftur Rahman) who drive 5 minutes down the road- and as Nigello said- the ones who sit there idling. Maybe the pollution is the fault of Tony Blair- who failed to educate an entire generation on environmental matters- despite his manifesto promises

What things > do they do that annoy you to no end?! Share! As for the joint front door- you could get one of those quiet closing things fitted so they can't slam that- they might take the hint. My worst upstairs neighbours used to throw their rubbish- including broken glass, into our garden where my toddlers played...they were total pigs. And when their bath sprung a leak and the water was coming through our kitchen light fitting they refused to stop bathing. And they used to have loud meetings in the house late at night going into the early hours and my OH had to get up at 6am for work.... -
On a short walk to the post box there were 2 vehicles sitting with their engines running - both near a local school. Also, in the last 5 years there has been an increase in the smell of burning wood in the ED area in the evenings when it gets cooler. I have also noticed people advertising logs on the ED forum...and I very much doubt that most people burning logs will have a DEFRA approved filter. And, on a recent overnight stay in Brighton our hotel room was above a bus stand near the station and given they have a Green MP I was surprised to notice that the buses kept their engines running...

Police will not investigate Shop lifting and Burglaries
uncleglen replied to DulwichFox's topic in The Lounge
I don't know about anyone else but in order to get a reasonable quote for household contents we have to comply with stringent standards of locks on windows and doors. As for shop lifting- if the store security catches people surely the cops will come and arrest them or they can be taken to the police....but they just will not be investigating shoplifting. Again the burden falls upon the public and shop owners to protect their possessions and goods...makes sense to me. I think I read somewhere that the vast majority of these property theft crimes are carried out by junkies....so maybe the cops are going after them. -

What amazes me is the fact that there were no proper contingency plans laid down by the EU in the event that a country that is a net donor to the EU votes to leave. As the days go by the arrogance and ignorance of the EU shines through more and more and just goes to show that a Leave vote is in the best interests of the UK- even though the people of the UK benefiting from being in the 'club' don't like it.

I would imagine that due to Human Rights issues they will be incarcerated somewhere near where their families can visit them I remember a 15 year old at my school printing off his mug shot from the Met Police Most Wanted site after the Zampa Road trouble and disseminating it everywhere- he was PROUD of it.

I did put 'bad' in quotes Foxy- my stab at sarcasm as the 'refurbishment' of LL is supposed to be good. Talking of stabbings- wasn't there one in the Magdala years back?

hopefully the 2 teenagers will get some kind of education in the young offenders

Since people do not move on from ED- stamp duty.....then the dropped kerb is obviously the next building enhancement project after lofts and basements and conservatories etc. Eventually everyone will have a dropped kerb and that means that those in (increasingly common around here) conversion flats will have nowhere to park even though they pay their fair share of road tax....how is that fair?
