  1. Commercial suicide by the co-op is this.
  2. Because then some tit will call you racist.
  3. I got the impression EDH was simply clarifying the legal status, following-on from the previous poster's point that the law was dreadful. I think everyone agrees small kids cycling on pavements is OK.
  4. I saw a clip earlier today of Jeremy Corbyn slating Tory Govts for allowing Corporations off scott-free while 'the people' pay for austerity. Wouldn't a tax as outlined above be effectively the same thing (but targetted at home owners) ? Can everyone seriously pay ?3k every year going forward (going up to ?12K ?!), some people have been born in their houses. What if they're unemployed, retired, disabled, ?
  5. "Uncleglen - you should definitely take some MDMA, it would do you no end of good." ...and a nice fat reefer to see it out. Then post. I've just been up North for a week, hatred of immigrants by relatives and their neighbours is real there too - and also based on 'fact' / 'actual experience' it seemed.
  6. I'll pop round Sue, but of a walk though !
  7. I got a great super large tray of strawbs at the deli/Turkish shop by GG roundabout a couple of weekends ago. Ready to eat and very ripe and tasty. But they don't always have them :(
  8. I don't know myself Pugwash, but as an interim suggestion perhaps Google or check YouTube. I find that for so many household jobs there's someone who's provided instructions / video clip on how to do it.
  9. "Lewisham market, as long as you don't intend to keep the fruit for very long" Lynne - what days is Lewisham market ?
  10. where did anyone write 'Lots of extremist hate the West because of the war in Iraq' (apart from yourself) ?
  11. I bought 7 red peppers for a quid in peckham rye lane on Saturday, they were 'on the cusp' but were amazing tasting grilled. Any decent tasting veg i get there nowadays. fruit is another story on rye lane, you need to be a bit discerning.
  12. RD I think there's a world of difference between looking at why the atrocity might have happened v a 'scapegoating' agenda.
  13. That wasn't the question RD, but thanks for replaying obvious dates.
  14. No I was just trying to understand the post actually - cheers for clarifying.
  15. So hands up who thinks if Blair hadn't dragged the UK into a fake 'war' with Iraq, the Manchester bomb would have happened ?
  16. agreed - and isn't this the case for almost all the supermarket fruit and veg ? if you want strawberries, mangoes you have to buy a week in advance ! ETA: remember, you're just a customer. You have no relevance apart from to play (pay) into the corporate coffers,
  17. I understand the hassle caused by a strange dog interfering when you're having a picnic, no problem it's a wind up. But (and I'm only asking because you just mentioned this...) on a scale of 1-100, how likely do you REALLY think it is that a dog walker in a public park is carrying a knife which they would attack you with ? I'm not saying you should or should not approach a dog walker, but as Nigello eluded, that's really taking "everyone is a threat" a bit far !
  18. Otta I'm sort of between two camps in a way on this, but basically I'm an advocate for "if you know the law, you know the score" when it comes to committing acts of violence. Like I said previously, the more you have going for you the more you may want to be careful about destroying what you have. I'm not a fan of 'promising career' being the reason for leniency, but perhaps, at a push, more so on the age angle being a factor to be considered.
  19. A lot of it is just misguided tossers, the couple I saw relating to Manchester were prsented as fact with a "but I'll leave you to decide" finale. Utter BS. Even if they'd been correct, the 'facts' presented to back-up the assertion simply didn't support it !
  20. I think it's Thursday bro. It had better be or I'm way behind on this week's task list.
  21. There's posts on YouTube (mainly by Americans) within a short no. of hours after the attack claiming the Manchester attack is a hoax - challenging the 'way' people were evacuating the arena (bystanders were just stood there watching, but the poster didn't realise he was showing a clip from Victoria station as people ran there to get trains - so of couse there would be bystanders who were regular customers waiting for their trains wondering what the sudden panicked influx of people wa all about). There's always someone going to say what happened is not real.
  22. Letters and parcels keep getting posted through your letterbox year in, year out, and every one (every. single. one.) says your name, a street address then the phrase 'East Dulwich' on the address.
  23. And, conversely, I've never been paid to play and I'm brilliant !
  24. bgw if you're that offended why don't you contact the author of the tweet ? he/she may be obliged to promote the opening as of today / may not have checked the news bulletins / may have thought it's not their place to comment on the atrocity using the channel they've (presumably) opened specifically for the pub. Talk about looking for offence. You fools looking to attack people just for doing their job, because it's not on the terms you've just invented (for other people to oblige to !). I notice you have no words for the perpetrator, but you do for some unrelated person. Did you preface YOUR first business/work comms today with a homage to the dead and injured, a minutes silence, by making a donation to charity ? What did YOU do if you're so squeaky clean ?! Molehill bollox.
  25. "Is this ever going to stop???? " Serious question ?! No. It will continue for decades.
