  1. We could use my pad as I've BoxNation, problem is I'll be on IOW ! If I can switch weekends (my weekends, not asking Floyd to switch his weekends for me !) then happy to host. Pubs unlikely to show it cos it's West coast hrs - card probably starts around 1am !
  2. Looks like it's now official - Floyd's posted a photo of the signed contract. Weight limit 147. Not sure if Floyd's 147 title is on the line, but with something like $100m a piece at stake, it's almost irrelevant.
  3. Is it a scam or your own negligence in failing to check around for the best deal you could obtain ? Any mortgage, loan, subscription or insurance deal will rely on 'loyal' customers not moving supplier, it's a key part of their strategy. No company will call you up to give you 50% of your subscription back !
  4. I must be a basic bloke because when I know I'm out in Waterloo and will need to eat, Marie's Cafe on the Cut figures first every time. It's a greasy cafe by day and the last few years exclusively Thai food by evening (Thought they do a set 2-3 Thais dishes during the day, too). May not be glam enough tho - certainly informal. BYO.
  5. Thanks. 176 just went straight through DH normal route to Camberwell FYI.
  6. I need to get up to waterloo this aft and would usually take the 176. I read something a while ago on EDF about there being some diversions due to a helipad being built at Kings hospital, also that there trains may not be stopping at DH today (I may try train to W/loo from Peckham via DH/Clapham). Anyone know what the deal is this afternoon please (next couple of hrs) ? I cannot find detail I need on www.
  7. "If you want to be a proper dad to your kids, the answer is to get to know the woman properly and get married first or at least make sure your name's on the birth certificate". By 'negligent' I mean that's the inference I take from your statement quoted above, if the predicates you advocate for being a 'proper' Dad are not adhered to. I'm sorry but I feel that proposition naive and sexist, all the worse coming from someone who seems to freely call others sexist or mysoginist (sp). Fathers for justice set a bad example in some cases, there's no doubt about that - but to paint all situations with such a beligerent brush is IMO uncalled for. It may apply to some of what you've seen but that doesn't mean the rest of the world matches what you think. I act as a McKenzie Friend for Fathers (or Mums) in family courts, where there are custody disputes. There is a whole Angola going on out there, perfectly reasonable and loving Fathers being ruined by their ex-wives supported by the courts, on account very often of their being male. There are less than brilliant mums and dads everywhere in all walks of life, whether married or not. Not sure what your angle is but your points are very inaccurate and generalised with no sensible merit. I've known two men hang themselves through not being able to see their children even when the children themselves wanted the contact re-established, solely because the Mother decided it and the courts bought the lies. If the Mother 'acts normal' for the hearing they can boss the show, this doesn't translate to Fathers 'deserving' what they get - which seems to be what you're saying. This is more prominent outside London in the provincial counties. You don't work as a magistrate in family courts by any chance do you ?
  8. "If you want to be a proper dad to your kids, the answer is to get to know the woman properly and get married first or at least make sure your name's on the birth certificate". Wow. All sounds so straightforward. The high divorce rate and volume of Fathers fighting in courts to maintain contact with their children must all be negligent, uninterested Dads. Let's hope their children don't find out they haven't got proper Dads.
  9. Vito you asked a question and I've answered it. Simples.
  10. Not if the equity is sourced from your main residence being remortgaged.
  11. "I'd like to know if a husband has ever successfully taken the kids and left the wife". It's extremely uncommon. If involved, the family courts automatically conclude the children belong to the Mother. There needs to be a significant child welfare issue for a Father to be upgraded to anywhere near an equal footing.
  12. "I am sure most of us have been wrongfully arrested one time or another." Er.. yep. ..but also rightfully on other occasions, so fair doos.
  13. If your dog shits outside your home, bag it and find somewhere to safely/sensibly dispose of the bag. Convenience doesn't come in to it FFS. Nor 'the law'. Weather baing cold as it has been lately you'd think dog owners would appreciate the free hand warmer that a nice hot shit in a bag inevitably can be. No vision, these dog walkery people.
  14. Environmental health issue ?
  15. It's horrible what's happened and it must feel awful, but self defence goes hand in hand with conditioning and fitness training - there is simply no quick fix.
  16. "Today there were two army ? Helicopters flying over in a kind of formation. Part of the same exercise maybe?" *mind ponders over the bewildering no. of formations that two helicopters could fly in"
  17. Sticky-out hair at back of head which looks like I've just got up, even after a dozen showers and 8kg of hair gel insists on being sticky-out. I don't mind it looks-wise, at all, I DO mind it not laying flat when I tell it to.

Also charities, Govts, Health, Aged Care, Education, Royal families, families, anything that involves people and a hierarchy basically.

Jam were ace, I missed them as I grew up as I was too in to punk and new wave - but when I got into them retrospectively, after they'd split I thought they were red-hot. Was gutted to have not been 'on it' at the time. Fantastic songs, well delivered, great poetry IMO. Style Council - maybe one or two songs. Solo - not bovered.
  20. Not as if the Church is unique among religions, in that respect. No different than corporations / shareholders, just comes in a different wrapper.
  21. Foxy was out in the snow today..
  22. "Not sure why a typo means dyslexic to you but I'm even more interested why do you think we are bad tradesmen? As far as I'm aware we have not done any work for you so I don't see the reason why you should put your opinion about my company on here. Looks like you are just a troll who likes to have some "fun" at the cost of the others." Dude. I just saw a funny typo. Never said anything about your company nor do I have a view on it. But I do however think the typo was funny so chill innit.
  23. Isn't a solarium what you keep lizards, snakes and tropical insects in ?
  24. Jeremy agreed, I don't think the 'watching' behaviour is OK. At all.
  25. A nice man in person. In persona - a fierce restaurant critic, able to assess an establishment just by looking at the menu !
