  1. Sundays it's open as quoted below: "From Sunday 11 April the food market will be open every Sunday between 10am and 4pm. "
  2. What time us the food Market open on Sunday anyone ??
  3. I'm with DJKilla on that, I will give sustenance but not cash. I once worked at a rather lovely bakers and left work in the afternoon with some decent sandwiches and incredible pastries, I was stopped by some homeless chaps asking for money but when I offered the produce to them they told me to leave immediately and they were quite rude. They reckoned they could not get p!ssed on croissants and I could not argue !
  4. This forum and other forums has totally destroyed my career, I am millions of pounds worse-off and would definitely have been a Captain of industry by now if it wasn't for reading what's what on internet forums. What a sheer waste of opportunity. Interesting reading though (sometimes).
  5. Went to pool on Saturday afternoon with kids, they all have said they "don't want to go back to that pool, Daddy" because it was too cold. After a year and a half of renovation works the opening day of the pool is timed with a cold swimming pool - you'd be hard pushed to invent this stuff ! Now I will have to try to convince the kids that the 'old pool temperature' will return, how I do this without traumatising them as guinea pigs I know not. I guess I'll have to pop down myself, on my own, and check it beforehand. On Sunday I was mudlarking with my son on the bank of the Thames, he had his hands in the water at one point and said, "Dad it's like the pool yesterday - freezing" !.
  6. sounds like you've got something rotting and the flies are hatching from there, could there be a dead rat/bird/rodent under the floorboards ? is there a foul smell - have a sniff around the floor ? you can get fly paper at the DIY stores on LL or down by ED station. Once stuck on that they will never escape those big green flies are gross aren't they !
  7. Glad it's open again, damn it was coooold in the water though !
  8. Could say the same about gun ownership then Quids. Some people are naughty with them but let's not spoil it for the rest, right ?
  9. Eternal Cirle - Bob Dylan
  10. Eternal Circle - Lou Reed
  11. I recommend Swift a young punk band. They play The Enterprise, Camden, on Monday 27/09. On stage at 8pm.
  12. Great quote: The BBBC decided not to withdraw his promoter's licence as "Hatton Promotions is a large organisation... ". Lucky it wasn't a medium-sized organisation then, I guess. He's either a goody or a baddie surely, does the size of his concern really have a bearing on the punishment given ?
  13. Hal this was one of my fears - we're getting less for our cash which means the cup of tea is no longer a cup of tea is it. It's a (say) 83% cup of tea. cate - this really IS turning into a bit of a science, but hey it will be worth it and withered pasty tips will be a thing of the past.
  14. Sean - I'm humbled.. I will pop in later and grab some (green/red) Barry's tea, and whilst I'm at it I may just as well get the other brands, Yorkshire and red Typhoo. Banish the weak teabag blues once and for all.
  15. I usually buy 40-80 packs and have done for ever. There's certainly a loss of strength and it has coincided with the same symptoms in the cups of tea I drink from external outlets. Based on what I have seen here today I shall try Yorkshire, 'Barry' (never heard of that !) and the red (not Tazo) mentioned earlier in the thread. A small mission for this evening, besides mangosteens.
  16. Not just phsyical harm caused Emerson, what about the harm to our senses by crappy TV programmers and music, we could kill all those people responsible too for a detrimental impact on our society. And those who've weakened our teabags.
  17. Good suggestion. However, the brands are all the same, at home and the outlets I use (Tazo (red), Liptons).
  18. Either the tea is growing weaker (maybe less watering when growing?) or they're choosing to make the teabags with weaker tips. Even making one at home I've noticed the bags are weaker. ie. PG
  19. That's exactly it, they did it..
  20. What's going on in the world of tea bags ??? At first I thought it was just me being overly fussy. But then I noticed other people remarking in coffee bars and cafe's that their tea was 'too weak'. Where I work there are 3 cafeterias and before I got round to politely mentioning that the teas seem to be extremely weak these days so effectively for the same money we're not actually gettin a cuppa anymore, they started offering 'one bag or two' in the tea !! An acknowledgement that teabags (several brands now I believe) are just not 'cutting it'. I would never have concieved that the good old honest teabag which is DESIGNED to provide a cup of tea, would start failing to do so. It used to be that you'd have to give the teabag only a light squeeze to ensure a strong cup, or a proper crushing squeeze to guarantee a cuppa you could stand your fork in. Did you notice this ? It's an outrage and, along with the recession, marks the advent of a harsher world than the most cynical of us could ever have anticipated. These comments are only in relation to 'normal' tea BTW (ie. builders tea - not the perfumed hippy stuff)
  21. The Frank Warren card on Saturday was a great showcase of British Boxing, true, it probably didn't deserve PPV status but having watched it with buddies it was a fine night. Nathan Cleverly showed his mettle against a very tough opponent and, when he calms his wildness a bit, should be in contention for a world title within the year. He wants Bernard Hopins, which I think is a bit ambitious, he may get the win but it could get real ugly because although Nathan's work-rate is high (like Calzaghe's was) Bernard spoils and can make him look real bad. I fear for Nathan against Jean Pascal (who he also wants), perhaps in 18 months but it's too early now, he needs a few mre decent Americans rather than Europeans under his belt. Kell Brook showed his fluid, there-not-there, skills but I am not yet sure he should be billed the 'second coming of Naseem Hamed' ! Enzo Maccarinelli unfortunately was taken down quite harshly by his tough opponent, I think he was quite careless, being desperate for a huge win (and ascendency to world title contention again). The KO he suffered could have happened in any of that or the three previous rounds IMO, he could have bided his time and ground-down his man for a win in the later rounds. The only thing tarnishing the contest was that he was allowed (by his corner) to continue after the heavy drop, I think that bad decision made the difference between whether he will be adviced to/not to box professionally again. Given his prior heavy KOs perhaps he should retire. A real shame as he's lost his chance due to impatience IMO. James DeGale overpowered Carl Dilks in a single round and now wants George Groves (who beat him in the amateurs). This is interesting as many thought the contest would be made much later when both boxers had made their mark professionally and a large all-British contest could be made. The Frank Warren 30th annniversary (of promoting, I presume) on Dec 11 is the billed date for this contest amongst a host of other intersting match-ups. Shame Ryan Rhodes wasn't able to play due to his injury - i wonder if age will get the better of him now and his chance will come too late as he's approaching his mid-30s. It's worth watching these domestic shows as quite soon some of them will be the UK world title holders we support in the pubs when they are famous.
  22. What have Rod Hull and River Phoenix got in common ? Both died after a night on the tiles... What do Rod Hull and Emu have in common ? Neither could fly. Rod's last words: "Grab hold of that gutter Emu"
  23. Risk and Battling Tops (sort of a board game, as in you play it on a table).
  24. What a buoy. PS: Rod Hull fell off the roof, he wasn't electrocuted. Still dead though.
  25. I think as long as it's done moderately discreetly it's unfair to criticise kids and/or their parents when the kid(s) need to go to the loo whilst out in a park like Goose Green. The lack of facilities is not their fault and it's a difficult situation for them to be in.
