Penalty Charge Notices [box junction and rye lane] - Peckham
JohnL replied to gemmamala's topic in The Lounge
I've seen so many people in that bus lane outside my flat - lost and not sure what to do The bus behind beeps them .... and they drive straight throught it, they may have a bus or two in front too (blocking the view). Some actually reverse back, but its difficult once something gets behind them. No excuse once you know it's there - but newcomers to the area seem to see it late southbound - I'd put a sign 'left only at bottom' or similar a bit further up the road. -

No - the latest theories seem to say we have another level of universes I think they call them BRANES as in Membranes http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brane_cosmology Its all theory anyway - until there is some way to prove.

losing a lot of tories are going to be shocked - Labour will probably win the next election !!!!! especially if the rich begin to boast and brag, vinceayre Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > The next election was decided when the unions put > in their puppet, its the election after that which > will now be decided by a few events yet to happen. > They are: > > The cuts and any further tax raises will be have > to be seen to be equitable, as the child benefit > cut has been, after all who cares about a few well > off people loosing state handouts, not as many it > turns out as the media would have us believe. > > How much and how severe the industrial action > becomes, the laws to come will require a majority > of the union to vote for a strike not just a > minority of voting members as is the case now. Are children allowed to play school sports in a park where adults might be also- i.e. would adults be banned from that area of the park ? If its just an informal free for all - I'm OK with that. pablogrande Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Got to say this thread makes me more than a little > depressed. Late night caller (wanting to borrow money)
JohnL replied to Damian H's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Are Npower still going around. They never give up. BT irritated me more - talking me into moving talk away from Sky who promptly charged me more for having less. I reckon Sky owe me a few months free Sky Sorts too No more listening to cold callers for me. -

The burning money in pubs bit sticks in some of our memories. I work (and go out) in Canary Wharf and some of the arrogance has definitely gone .. but in my fathers day tax was 99% on anything above quite a low amount, Osborne so far seems more likely to head that way than Brown/Darling. ..and now 'Wall Street' is back.

Well apparently, Vortigern invited the Saxons in to fight his battles with the Picts and Irish, and that was it for the Britons. louisiana Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > HAL9000 Wrote: > -------------------------------------------------- > ----- > > Twirly Wrote: > > > -------------------------------------------------- > > > ----- > > > I have no idea what the solution is. > > > > No one knows - we are on the cusp of a new > > paradigm. Ireland's already in it. Another property crash .. and yes I think we might. But ... I remember the 80's and 90's and how bust to boom can be so quick (you think things will never improve, and suddenly bankers are burning money, in pubs, for a laugh). Lets see what (public services) ollie hammers, as well as the parents, who he enjoyed having a go at so much, he's coming back for more.

It always rains in Wales, but the beer is good :)

It was young ones'ish in halls in the 80s IIRC. Everything in the communal fridge and areas was ... considered communal property. It was like school ... with no teachers in some ways. No TV in rooms - we watched Spitting Image in the shared lounge, No Internet (hadn't been invented), Kitchen full of unwashed pans and plates. No outsiders could get in however, and we lived on the Kings Road (halls long since sold off). My local was the Worlds End if it wasn't Students Union happy hour (most nights it was).

Those worm bins might help - if you don't mind the creatures. -
Richard Dawkins is rather quiet at the moment. Has the Pope got him beaten. If I see a miracle I'll assume (a) I'm drunk (b) I'm hallucinating © Veridian Dynamics has come up with a new toy.

Every hotel seems slightly different in the way they do Breakfast .. which is strange considering they all offer the same things. Some I like others I hate. Marriots is always nice, one of the best for Breakfast I'd say :)

Some Wetherspoons across the country are OK - but you always get the old men in a traditional spoons and the youngsters in a Lloyds. I've popped into that one in Brockley sometimes - its OK when waiting for the 484. I'd visit :)

Every time my work colleague returns to Nigeria he... (a) forgets his injections (b) catches something (malaria/typhoid) He's off again in October :) Do get injected up !!

I am an old student of Kings College (not the hospital part) and for years I got calls from students and letters from staff asking for sponsorship/money. I never minded them doing it, I liked the college, but could never really afford to give them anything, so they stopped. I think Kings has just taken over part of Somerset House - They didn't get that by being shy with money requests :) I think Universities have been doing this for a long time, so a hospital that is part of a university chasing ex-patients isn't that different. Never feel obliged - take it as a compliment.

It did with me ... a long time (15 years) ago Reported theft after someone attacked me at a cashpoint .. turned out the money was sucked back in and the guy was just a drunk not a mugger. In response to the OP ... It seems OK according to Swansea... see below, Notice the words 'use''driving' and 'display' http://www.dvlni.gov.uk/vehicles/renewtax.htm "What About The 14 Days Grace? If your vehicle licence has expired there is an understanding that you may continue to use the vehicle for up to 14 days. However you must apply for a new licence within the 14 day period and licence it from the expiry date of the previous licence. If proof that a complete application has been received at DVA, before taking a vehicle on the road, you will not be penalised for driving without a current Vehicle Licence or for failing to display one. The 14 days period of grace is a concession. In law a current licence must be displayed at all times when the vehicle is on the road."

Unfortunately, its close to normal behaviour on those buses (especially the 12). The criminal damage was out of order, but the shouts and threats happen every day - you see the bus stop and sit there until the perpetrator gets off and walks away. There is a lane police team who would be useful to contact - altough their thread says not to report crimes to them. http://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/forum/read.php?5,483727
