He seemed OK though -

The spate can't have gone unnoticed. The fire engine goes up and down LL on saturday night (I was in the EDT) - so wonder if they saw anything - I was keeping an eye out, but saw nothing on the walk from EDT to Rye Lane.

Not Peckham Rye but from the independent "Six dogs have died after eating poisoned meat left on a London golf course. Police believe the dogs ate chicken and tripe which had been laced with paraquat. The poisoned meat was left near the 14th tee of the public golf course at Beckenham Place Park in Bellingham, south-east London, earlier this month. Detective Sergeant Clive Barnes said: 'We strongly believe this was done deliberately and are treating the matter very seriously. Whether it is someone with something against dogs for some reason we don't know.'" http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/heartbreak-for-pet-owners-as-dogs-fall-prey-to-poisoned-bait-oliver-gillie-on-an-illegal-practice-that-kills-indiscriminately-1500082.html

Warning: Unprovoked attack on Dog Kennel Hill (Sat 23rd)

Got bashed on the head with a Plastic bottle the other night - just laughed and so did the gang of lads that did it. But probably was a dare and could have been a glass one if I was unlucky. -
Rugby I'm an Ospreys supporter and we just got an away draw to Biarritz in the Heineken Cup quarter finals - which will probably be played at San Sebastian in Spain. We might even win. What a great trip

Fight in Sainsburys this afternoon (January 03) (Lounged)
JohnL replied to sawyerphin's topic in The Lounge
Sainsburys only have a limited number of staff so what is the priority Fence off the area Protect children from seeing anything Protect anyone from getting hurt Call the police Protect evidence Stop panic In a terrorist attack, I reckon a 'fog' would descend very quickly - and this was not on that scale. Shows how difficult it would be if something on a larger scale happened. -
I get 2.10 and 1.70 when I put London Bridge (National Rail) and 3.20 and 2.80 when I put London Bridge (Underground)

Further info 1. you need a 1.50 balance 2. you can stick the OEP on at a quiet time ready for use when required Quotes "Also, whilst OEPs themselves are free, in order to have an OEP added to your Oyster card, you will also need a minimum PAYG balance on the card of ?1.50 ? this is because OEPs aren't really a ticket (they don't carry or contribute to your fare), they are effectively simply an electronic ?permit to travel.? In expiry terms, OEPs are effectively ?one shot? - the OEP is removed the first time you tap out outside your zones. They do not, however, carry a time-linked expiry. This means that one can be added to an Oyster Card at any point and it will not expire until it is either used, or removed by a member of staff. LR also understands that only one OEP can exist on an Oyster Card at any given time."

National Insurance contributions and their worth.

NI is just Tax now Originally it was meant to be ring fenced I think, but that stopped years ago. -
Governments haven't exactly endeared themselves for their truth telling. Are we really sure they're not just in it for a quick profit somehow. I have a suspicion that because the powers that be believe in Global Warming caused by man then they feel they are justified in going to any length to demonstrate it. That doesn't mean it's not true, but if they get rumbled ....

I'm non commital on AGW - but something is wrong and I have a feeling I'm being lied too - whether malicously or because governments want to do 'the right thing' Why is East Anglia refusing to give the original source data out ? I hear rumours that if you take out some seemingly insignificant figures - the hockey stick graph changes completely. We need a proper debate - whilst also limiting pollution, production and perhaps population.

and the bouncers ..... The big one looked mean on Saturday - now I know why :)

2 buses full (not stopping) by rye lane heading into town last week. I'm sure it's busier.

If Capital Punishment was reinstated it would have to be in public, not hidden away in prisons IMHO. Those who support it, or not then know what is happening and the public response. I'm generally against by the way. and, about C4, as the Guardian says "A former glam-rock star called, say, Stanley Sparkle, who likes to have sex with children would have fooled nobody, but would have demonstrated a little more humanity. "

or even the DLR (didn't see it in the avoid list) Theres a train sometimes from Peckham Rye to Lewisham and various bus routes to Deptford Bridge.

JohnL replied to snoozequeen1's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
http://www.thecnj.co.uk/islington/2009/073109/inews073109_12.html So a new CEO and "Royal Free bosses announced this week they are facing ?unsustainable? cuts of ?900million over the next five years. " Seems so - thats a lot of cuts. -
Sand flies exist, here's one http://www.armymedicine.army.mil/news/photos/fullsize/lg_sandfly.cfm but are they with us, in ED.

Surely the devious paedo would have a convincing explanation for his actions, more so than an amateur camramam. -

So by shouting Paedo loudly enough at certain people -- I can end their career. !!!! Phillips keeps the Bok back row honest, Jones goes flat, very flat and that makes space for our top two centres. The statistics last week showed a large LIONS dominance in attack, breaks etc. But the scrummaging collapse caused a disaster - the penalty count was unplayable in the first half. I think the Lions may do it ..... with some clever subs in the 2nd half.
