You can also get one of those knob thingies (don't know what they are called now!) that will open your dead-lock internally without a key - especially for the fire escape case you describe. The deadlock is then locked with a key from the outside only (the knob thingy will also lock internally without the key). So there is absolutely no excuse to not use a deadlock on your front door! (and your internal flat door for that matter)

ED Water smelling "Chemically"
fractionater replied to fractionater's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Its not the taste I'm worried about - I normally filter Tap water anyway. Its the smell - I can smell it when washing my face or even using the shower. -
ED Water smelling "Chemically"
fractionater replied to fractionater's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
I live up the Goose Green end -
Not sure if anyone has noticed this, but over the last week or so my tap water has quite a distinct chemical smell about it - Its almost a bleach/chlorine odour. I also noticed the same odour in the water coming from the showers at my local gym. (down the other end of Lordship Lane) Am I imagining things?! - I've been a resident in ED for about 9 years and its the first time I've detected it.

anyone having problems with royal mail sorting office?
fractionater replied to sibbers1's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Nothing wrong with "suspecting"! - I am not accusing! But if enough people are experincing the same with their rental DVD deliveries then we can establish a pattern and try to get the sorting office to investigate. Everything was working like clockwork on these dvd deliveries (for over 6months)up until 2 months ago! -
anyone having problems with royal mail sorting office?

This is becoming a joke! I've had about 5 dvds from Odeondirect (aka Lovefilm) not delivered in 2 months now! I suspect that someone in the sorting office is nicking them! - its obvious what they are as they have odeon direct dvd splashed all over the packaging Is anyone else experienceing the same with specifically Lovefilm/odeondirect dvds? -
anyone having problems with royal mail sorting office?
fractionater replied to sibbers1's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
I live on Worlingham rd, and have had 2 films from Lovefilm not delivered over a 3 week period (I have reported to lovefilm also) - normally they are spot on. I've also noticed that my general post volume seem's to have dropped over the same period. Anyone got any contact numbers to use for Royal mail? -
I've been told Copper nails are good too!

great - was wondering who to contact to get an overgrown tree chopped down in front of my house!

TIP: leave little bowls of dried food in the places where it dumps\lashes. (obviously after you have cleaned up!) my mum's bengal started exhibiting this behaviour and the local vet recommended this (drug free too) - soon stopped. -
