  1. Hi NewWave, I think Helen faces a dilemma which many of us wouldn't. Her constituents voted overwhelmingly for remain and she has stated she shares this view. Sounds simple enough. But if she has ambitions beyond being a 'just' a local MP she may be closing those down if she upsets her national party and if it has a strategy of going along with the referendum result. Some Labour MP's have now publicly stated they do not want free movement of people, a pre requisite of remaining in the EU. So I think she's now keeping her options open. Not what I or you would do.
  2. This is the response form TfL I've received via Caroline Pidgeon's office - success: " Dear Caroline Thank you for your email. I can confirm arrangements are being made to re-install the Advanced Stop Line with the feeder lane. The works will be completed in early July. In the meantime, please extend our apologies to Cllr Barber for any confusion caused by our previous emails on this matter. Kind regards "
  3. The response I had yesterday is the head of leisure will investigate as clearly contrary to stated council policies. My expectation is the cafe sells much healthier fare. I hope it won't take long to organise this. patt1980 Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Hi James, > > I just posted this on another thread about the new > gym operators but wondering who I can talk to > about the re-fit of the cafe Everyone Active have > done there. Thanks.
  4. I'll ask when Goose Green roundabout can be fixed.
  5. Hi Burbage, The flood defences are to protect all residents. The next priority has been a review of East Dulwich and Peckham Rye areas and I have fed in all the flooding casework I've had, and Cllr Rosie Shimell since 2010, for the area since I became a councillor in 2006.
  6. Hi Renata, 16 & 17 years olds were excluded and have been since Lib Dems made our first promise to enfranchise them what must be 20 years ago is because Tories know they're more likely to vote other than Tory. If they were allowed to vote in this referendum it would increase the likelyhood of a future general expectation that they have the vote. Tories didn't care in Scotland referendum because they'd given up on winning there. Hi uncleglen, I don't think that's true. A number of politicians are publicly members of the British Humanist Society who campaign against religious schools and we have seen some recent successes on school admissions.
  7. Hi ClaphamMum, You should talk to your insurers about this. They will know if they can sue the council to recover their costs. IF you're not insured then if the damages you've injured are ?10,000 or less then your could sue the council via the Small Claims Court process.
  8. "Dulwich" signs are cheaper than "East Dulwich".
  9. Hi nxjen, I would represent the constituents of Dulwich and West Norwood who overwhelmingly voted, whatever their political background and none, to remain. Fullstop. Other areas of the country that voted to leave have their own MPs to vote that way. To oil the parliamentary wheels to leave. I would also use every political tool to remain at my disposal. As indeed would people who wanted to leave if the tables were turned. That is why people vote for you to be an MP. To fight for your area. And I would fight tooth and nail on this issue. Even talking about leaving will be causing unemployment, less investment, a possible recession, a less stable world. We've even heard of increases in racism. Fighting these via fighting the prospect of leaving is what I would do. This is to important to be nice cosy parliamentarians about.
  10. I'd be amazed if we don't have a general election this Autumn - new Tory and quite possibly new Labour leaderships. My lot will stand on a platform of not leaving the EU and if we have left of re entering. As our MP I'd imagine Helen is meant to represent her constituency. Dulwich and West Norwood voters of all political persuasions and none overwhelmingly voted to Remain. I find it strange our MP doesn't want to represent that view.
  11. I thought I'd updated people a while back they'd shifted opening to August. Dulwich is rather unfortunate as it isn't a descriptive to location as East Dulwich. But Sainsburys on Dog Kennel Hill claims to be their Dulwich store.
  12. Hi ford, The Remain campaign didn't run a full telling operation so what they said was a script to try and motivate you to get out and vote. Saying that the overall turnout across Southwark was low at 66% compared to Lambeth next door. Labour Lambeth were wholly campaigning for IN. Southwark Labour we were told by the Remain campaign were split down the middle and relatively by them little was done. In East Dulwich ward we've delivered circa 45,000 leaflets including GLA election ones which all had Remain stories in them and three round of specific IN leaflets. We've made 2,500 voter contacts in the last 6 weeks about the referendum with remain at 77%. What didn't help is the Remain campaign telling us they had agreed with Dulwich & West Norwood Labour party we were only wanted in Coldharbour ward!
  13. You would not believe how much effort Cllr Rosie Shimell, former cllr Jonathan Mitchell and I have gone to get that church used rather than Heber School. We had a chair lift installed for example three years ago. Fingers crossed everyone is happy for it to become a permanent polling station replacing Heber School?
  14. Hi Patt1980, I've contacted the lead councillor Barrie Hargrove about this. I've also received two emails along the same lines as your comment. Lets see what Barrie says he'll do to fix this.
  15. Yes I can help. I've several different items of casework for different problems with a number of different local GP practices. But please email me and I will then go to chair of the CCG. pigglemarex Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Hi James > > Can you help with the following:- > > I am sure you have noticed that there are a lot of > little poeple in East dulwich! > > My 3 month old daughter is a patient at the > Gardens. 16. Hi Duvaller, Yes planning enforcement should be engaged - [email protected] I'm sorry DHFC haven't responded. Let me raise both issues with council officials. If you'd like to be copied into this please email me at [email protected]
  17. I have a query with council officers why we can;t deploy ground anchors in the road. I've seen this in Westminster City Council area for motorbike parking. Nothing to stop us having this in East Dulwich other than would we have sufficient demand to justify, will the council let us do this? 18. You can always raise the issue via a local councillor - we often do get more traction with officialdom.
  19. Please email me directly and I will get this sorted - it may take a couple of weeks. can you tell me who in each organisation you contacted and when.
  20. If you know anyone voting from abroad the second post out can;t arrive in time - they would need to organise a proxy vote.
  21. How fab. Congratulations.
  22. If any other streets want to organise a street party - still plenty of summer left - then do get in touch. For those that have had a street party why not keep the spirit going by holding a some Play Street events - close your street again for a couple of hours each month to leet your kids play on the street - again get in touch if interested.
  23. Weather just about worked out. I had to visit some but behind with delivering IN leaflets from the mornings rain.
  24. No I've not heard more and nor has AM Caroline Pidgeon. I'll ask her if she can escalate this.
  25. Hi John K, What legal covenant? Do you have a copy of it please? Regards James.
