  1. It is going down in our areas, mainly. Two weeks ago the colours were darker.
  2. I have noticed the parakeets much more this past week or so. I rarely see them where I live or in Dulwich Park but they are more apparent now. I am not a fan but they're all doing their best, so...
  3. I saw the leaf sweepers this morning on Jennings. One said the bags are often collected same day. I?d prefer it if schools swept away/collected the leaves from the footpaths rather than wait for a once-in-a-while sweep by the council. The paths near Goodrich are slutchy and slippery. The PTA may have ideas on this.
  4. Truth is good, facts often better.
  5. A contractor came in and out several times with no mask there three weeks back. It was very early morning and I wasn?t up to confrontation so kept well away. He worked for Hunter, I think it was.
  6. Waiting for a council to give you a paper sack? Just use a carrier bag and put it in a litter bin or your green bin. Also, I don?t support using neighbours? bins without asking which is why I suggested doing so ⬆️ there. Stop making excuses, would-be do-gooders!
  7. The plastic covering the red sign ahead of the Court Lane on LL has come away revealing Mon?Fri and 0800?1000 and something else but I couldn?t work it out.
  8. As long as they?re disposed of correctly people can take it on themselves without ?permission?. I?ve had to report bags of collected leaves, split with contents rotting, to Southwark because the collection was never made. Keep it simple is my motto. Adding a layer of council bureaucracy adds to time wasted, I think.
  9. Anyone?s ears burning? Sadly, there is a vociferous minority who don?t want us to do this. They want our residential streets to remain a convenience for others to drive through. I share their outrage ? but my vexation is at the fact that we have to defend and campaign for these things; to get back what we should never have lost in the first place. https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2020/nov/13/children-britain-residential-streets-low-traffic-neighbourhoods-roads
  10. Minority of noisy dissidents ? Yes or No? https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2020/nov/13/local-councils-advised-to-push-ahead-with-traffic-reduction-schemes
  11. Still coukd do with fewer parents driving their kids to school, full stop. Pretend it?s the seventies or eighties before people got so ?busy?.
  12. Sweep up, bag and stick it in the nearest rubbish bin or your normal bin. Or ask a neighbour for the temporary use of a brown bin. Solutions
  13. Maybe because the school hasn?t got the staff or has but doesn?t see why it ought to help. Remember that the school objected to the shutting off of Dunstan?s and Goodrich, even though it?s only in use for a portion of the hours in a year.
  14. No, I?ve not finished. I love chinchillas, hot milky drinks and photographing road signs (but only the ones with red borders. I mean, no offence to the National Trust, but that brown shade does nothing for me.)
  15. Will the school have to operate this?
  16. Think about a pneumonia jab for ?30 at Lloyd?s or Superdrug.
  17. There?s a piece of plasticky paper tied to a post at Dunstan?s and Goodrich.
  18. 👏 (Oh, and Frankfito, I also pick up litter and smile at strangers. 😇)
  19. What about clearing leaves outside one?s house oneself, if it?s physically possible!? I don?t mean far from the gate, just six or so feet each way? I?d do it if I had a problem chez moi but I don?t. It?s reasonable and community minded ? maybe that?s why people don?t do it where the council can?t or won?t.
  20. There?s to be a week day daily closure on Dunstan?s from the junction with Mt Adon Park. The flyer on the post described it in a very council-type way so I can?t work out which way and for how long down the road it will extend.
  21. Superdrug in Streatham. You can book online. The chemist opposite A J Farmer may offer it, and the one near CoOp on Forest Hill Road does.

  23. I use the BBC app which lists E Dulwich if you tap it in and I find it very reliable. (BTW The hour shown means there is x% of rain/snow etc until the end of that hour, not from it.)
  24. Same here ? lots of wood pigeons and the usual variety but very few sparrows and no blackbirds, robins, tits, jays despite their being lots of food in the feeders and on the top of the wall. 🤷‍♂️
  25. Re the consultation groups ? perhaps there?s too much consultation, or at least too much consulting of the usual suspects. Folk on these groups are often self appointed, fixated on one issue and think, just because they?re being consulted, their view is sacrosanct. Much better would be random consultation, perhaps with a gift voucher incentive to give one?s views, across varied localities in any one borough. Councils need input, obviously, but not from ?professional consultees?.
