  1. Good job he hasn?t led us to leave a neighbouring trade bloc because of his ?positive? outlook and convincing many to go with him eh? ?Prosper mightily? my arse Alas
  2. "But to say Boris is a joke is a bit laughable really. ? Goes on tv this morning to say schools are perfectly safe and in same breath he might have to close them soon Meanwhile in the hours since schools are emailing parents to say they are not safe and moving to remote learning But he?s not a joke
  3. Trinny isn't getting a hard time for "linking to various articles" like other people do, or because they happen to be a different view To the specific point - as of Jan 2 2021 it does appear as if there is concern about EU procurement of vaccine. Just as there is concern about UK procurement and deployment. No-one is looking in great shape But if someone (let's call them Trinnydad) decides that only the EU has a problem and therefore it somehow justifies the massive self-own that is Brexit then yeah they will correctly get picked up on it (plus TD is knowingly doing this - across multiple threads that they are starting themselves. lets not be all defensive on their behalf )
  4. Trinny is just part of a wider Leave bloc* - from Farage, to Redwood and all of the Tory "bastards", they will never ever be happy. It's not enough to be out of the EU - they want it destroyed And will they be happy then? Of course not
  5. And now Louisa is back The next edf drinks post-covid is going to be a blinder
  6. Also Brandon Lewis today ? The unique position that Northern Ireland business now have, as an integral part of UK market & able to trade with EU, opens huge opportunity for inward investment, business & job growth. Globally unique opportunity. Sounds great. Maybe rest of U.K. should have this amazing opportunity eh?
  7. It?s only been 2 days and we already have Brandon Lewis saying there is no border in the Irish see and Duncan smith talking about conquering the world again. But sure - these are the smart guys I know you don?t have the highest respect for the government - but at some point you are going to have to link their ineptitude with their enthusiasm for Brexit. That is the only reason they are there. The smart tories got ditched/bailed from the madness
  8. I don?t need reassurances It objectively is dumb But as well as the opinion pieces I?m also referencing leavers who have changed their mind and regret it Because as soon as you open your mind to objectivity, it?s self-apparent I?m just giving as many pointers as I can. Because as I?ve said before, persisting with this until the last possible moment only to shrug and say ?that didn?t work? is woefully insufficient. I?m just trying to speed the process along
  9. Do we think this is wise? Or lucky? https://nyti.ms/3rNV2s8
  10. Very good in Die Zeit from Fintan o Toole https://www.zeit.de/politik/ausland/2020-12/brexit-great-britain-economy-covid-19-european-union-nationalism?wt_zmc=sm.ext.zonaudev.twitter.ref.zeitde.share.link.x
  11. I think the broader picture is that all countries appear to be suffering a lack of coherent rollout strategy? I don?t think U.K. is especially well placed after the last couple of days confusion
  12. Sue - this isn't an answer to your specific question, but your post probes at an outcome that I think you should explore further Having music/radio/podcasts/tv come out of different/same speakers across a house/flat is fantastic and has really opened up my listening habits Don't just write this off. Listen to stuff you like on that Amazon speaker - if it sounds good look at adding other deviced in other rooms - if they are all Amazon then you will have an ecosystem that can expand (There are different concerns about Amazon/privacy whcih shouldn't be dismissed lightly but your mileage may vary) If the amazon speaker doesn't sound great then other options are available - I've gone with Sonos and have loved it Of course price is another concern - but let's say you are happy with the Amazon speaker - they often have steep discounts (50% +) and you could ask friends to make them presents for example. And you can pair them as stereo speakers to get even better sound But having a stereo in one room and no way of listening around the rest of the gaff seems quaint in 2021
  13. Decent article from a Leaver I've long had a problem with here (I'm seeing more of this sort of thing btw , but HAHA DEMOCRACY!!!!, there is no mechanism for them to change their vote The hill I will die on is that this was a referendum of such magnitudal change that it required a confirmatory referendum based on the deal to be considered in any way democratic - and anyone who shouts down problems by just screaming "democracy" is naive at best and downright malicious at worst) https://www.independent.co.uk/independentpremium/voices/brexit-vote-leave-trade-deal-b1780862.html
  14. https://www.irishmirror.ie/news/irish-news/irelands-pubs-could-soon-playing-23247828 Not an English exclusive
  15. ", but these views don't really means as much as it seems you would like them to" maybe. maybe not. But that's different from "people aren't laughing at Brexit and the Brits" The Euro is more mixed - but kind of moot. People have been living with it for years and it hasn't made them wish they weren't part of the EU. Whereas the country that didn't join the Euro still wasn't happy (spoiler: and never will be)
  16. I?ve already been chided by the feline for posting that article It?s mad that remainers get accused of being in a bubble but no matter how one tries to illustrate the bubble English leavers are in they just don?t wanna hear
  17. Think you will find the dust will be clouding your view for some time foxy Clock is ticking until you realise it wasn?t what you voted for
  18. GEE TD - why dontcha apply such criteria to foxy. Or is only he allowed to spout unchallenged in your view? Nothing foxy said is true. You don?t need to be a mafia member to see that.
  19. All the pieces of the jigsaw fit now - I totally get it!
  20. ?- long very costly 47 years? One would think someone as old as you would remember how sick the U.K. was back then. Tried to stay out. But had to join anyway because it needed to financially. In those 47 years it was the 5th largest economy in the world The U.K. did plenty wel out of those 47 years
  21. Economic reality and the weakness of England in a global world will see to that foxy. It won?t be anything to do with ?remainers?
  22. He is quite something
  23. Speaking of corbynistas. If I found myself on same side as this eejit, I would be quite worried https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2020/dec/31/the-left-brexit-economic-uk?CMP=Share_iOSApp_Other
  24. Everyone outside Labour Party laughed at them when they elected Corbyn leader Did they want to hear that? Nope. Just congratulated themselves on revolution to come. ?You lost centrists? Etc If I was a leaver I would pay more attention to what other countries are saying and not cherry picking
  25. Moot. But not over And that?s the point. England is still patting itself on the back while the rest of the world thinks they are fools for this go to cafes, bars, bus stops across eu and you won?t need to rely on ?newspaper articles? England pats itself on the back but is about to spend years looking for more access without any leverage. The vassal state it?s proponents said they would never accept
