  1. Typical Councillor - why not play the ball instead of the man for a change?
  2. What would you like to do? What can you offer people?

    EDF Drinks

Nice one Georgia for sorting them out, sorry I haven't made most of the most recent ones but being away most Friday nights doesn't help. Without wanting to sound like a marketing w*nker a 'rebrand' might be another option, the forum's so big now The Forum Drinks is a bit too general for people to associate with, a more specific name might be appropriate. How about: The Georgian Drinks, a get together of Loungers? The Loungers The Lounge Drinks The Open Arms drinks - (maybe too Godly) The Inner Circle - (members only of course ;-) ) The Drink Appreciation Society That aside I was also thinking that we could have an impromptu summer get together if the weather's looking fine, we'll all meet down the pub or park one sunny afternoon and evening in June or July. 4. Have a read of this Dropped Kerbs - contravention code 27, it will shed some light on it.
  5. I was hunting them too then found this: "Local elections Votes cast in the local elections will be counted from 1pm on Friday 7 May 2010. Results will be published here as soon as they are available so please check back again." http://www.southwark.gov.uk/news/article/18/elections-6_may_2010
  6. Have a good break Barry, you deserve it. ps Any chance you could sort out Downing Street before you go?
  7. Could you let us know from where and when it was stolen? Someone may have seen something.

    I say no to Lib-dem

After reading this I think Dem Lebs might get the sympathy vote from some.

KD, when were you appointed the voice of the People's front real people of East Dulwich?

Why not ask the Strategic Director for the details you require?

So you sent them a letter with some serious allegations, the councillor replied to you saying because of the seriousness of the allegations they've passed it on to the Strategic Director of Communities, Law and Governance. You then continue to send letters to the councillor about this issue even though you were told it had been passed on. Why not ask the Strategic Director for the details you require?

Probably best not to drown us with all 28 right now, just the initial one you sent and the received letter will do.

May we see the original email you sent to the councillor and the subsequent 'confusing letter' you received?

Seriously though I believe it's more effective to ask someone or something real for help (and therefore actually get it) rather than ask a make believe god and make up the answers to suit. Feeling Lonely? a) Speak to God b) Phone a friend I know which one I would recommend.

    Memorials

I've had this discussion with my better half too, and should I be killed and a flowers laid where I fell, the instructions are to remove then when they're dead. I agree with MM, I feel a pile of long dead flowers at the scene of an accident just says "they should be cleared because they're a pile of dead flowers but it's an awkward situation so no one wants to do it". Perhaps replacing them with a bunch of fresh ones would be a simple, respectable solution.
  20. I submitted some questions, one of which is used, and I'm glad it hasn't been sexed up for the audience. It simply means my question has been asked, however if you read the questions out loud in a Dirty Harry voice they might be more appealing to some.

I think that continuing to do what you have been doing ie helping people with everyday issues about dog pooh, schools and rubbish collections don't count.
  22. Blimey, how many sweeping generalisations can one thread have?
  23. Surely a vote for Labour is a vote for four more years of Brown?
  24. Has anyone mentioned buggies, Waitrose or organic coffee yet?
  25. To follow on from Sean's point about shite broadcasting, the BBC's website has a pathetic Live: Volcanic cloud over Europe page which says: "...the volcanic cloud could lead to two more days of disruption" and " Time to recap... The cloud emitting from the volcano in Iceland is still drifting south-east into Europe. Air traffic has been grounded ... When will it end? Nobody knows." First Panorama goes tabloid and now the website 'news' gets peppered with bolded phrases like that. When will it ever end? Sorry to hear about people's flights, I've got one in three weeks and I'm actually starting to get anxious about that.
