    Pies ?

I bought mine at a festival, so didn't expect much as I was a bit flaky. I think it was the steak one too but it tasted like heaven in cardboard box. It wasn't the time or place to be quantitatively analysing filling/crust proportions I just remember it was good.

It's the nicknames of the two founders.
  13. OK, so we should have resolved the right alignment issue, if you still see the site aligned to the right please refresh the page (F5 on a PC). Also there was a problem with the forum slowing down, this was because of a script that had to work out what section of the forum was showing before showing the ads. We have removed that script and, although the ads show in all sections of the forum it should be faster.
  14. You might be better off copying it and pasting it from here http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-1232593/Autumnwatch-presenter-Chris-Packham-slams-Im-A-Celebrity--cruelty-bugs-insects.html so people will read your post
  15. It's a flight to Costa Rica, Continental flights all seem to fly via Newark and none of them say operated by Virgin, which is a shame. We did initially look to see where Virgin fly so we could consider a flight with them but they don't do Central America.
  16. Thank you everyone. I did fly to Mexico with American Airlines last year and they were a bit poor, the hostesses were like ageing Sue Ellens from Dallas who liked to chat/shout to each other across the trolley and my video screen was missing the green element. Continental is looking preferable at the moment.
  17. We have the option to fly to Central America with either Continental or American Airlines in January, the prices are similar but we're wondering if anyone has any experience with either of these? There was the option to fly with BA but they might be affected by industrial action in January and so they're a no go. Thanks in advance
  18. Oh, and just to add that Admin disabled hadenuff's account, not because he was critical of Admin (s/he's used to that), it was because he was posting ranting messages across the forum and the West Dulwich Forum despite being asked not to, and because he created multiple accounts to deceive people. The final straw was him trying to locate me personally, as 'the owner' of the forum, in the real world, at that point it's beyond discussion.
  19. Hi, I thought I'd say something as the 'owner' of the site. The forum's always been East Dulwich centric which has been hard to keep on track, and that's peeved a few people off on the way, but it seems to work, having said that we do always listen to people's suggestions and take them on board. Take the Family Room section for example, a few people requested that and we were hesitant to set that up, mainly because I thought it would dilute the forum and spread the users too thinly, but it worked and has created it's own very popular little monster. I can see what you're saying HAL, but the forum's not been run as a business but I do like your idea that the site(s) could be worth millions. As I have always said on the About the Forum/Terms of use page "This forum is intended to be for use by people who live in, drive through, have an interest in or just want more information about London's East Dulwich". It's where I live and it's where most of you live and keeping it focused on the local area helps keep it friendly and neighbourly. If the area it covers gets bigger and bigger then I think it may loose that intimate, some say cliquey, feel, I don't want that and I don't think the majority do either. And I know Admin sometimes get things wrong, they're human and they put their hands up to their mistakes. Anyway it's usually an edge case like this one that causes the most kerfuffle, but it brings issues to light, which although frustrating does help us keep us on our toes.
  20. Brilliant news, no more hanging round a cold and drafty London Bridge station for half an hour in the evening having just missed the train, those 15 minutes less waiting is appreciated. Plus we can stay in town later! Thanks for letting us know TJMP.
  21. I'm curious to know how would you have handled the hadenuff situation cate? It would be great to get some constructive direction from you so that Admin and the team can take on board your opinion.
  22. Hi, if you're seeing the adverts stacked on top of each other at the top of the screen the please refresh the page (press F5 on a PC), that will fix it. As for the page being sat on the right hand side of the screen, it's something we have to look into. It's because the new 'containing frame' of the page is wider than your screen; in that frame is a blank column, the content column then the advert column. You people with a 1024pixel wide screen only see the first two columns, so it looks like is sat to the right. Apologies for any inconvenience and I'm hoping we'll work out a fix for it Mark

    Ask Admin

Hi I'll answer these as I set them up. The ads should be sat on the right of the forum, and only in the classifieds section. Are you seeing something different? If you are please let me know. Also I've written a small piece about the ads here http://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/forum/read.php?12,566582
  24. Some of you may have realised that there are now a few banner ads in the classifieds sections of the forum (for sale, business, residential etc) promoting companies that sponsor the forum. I've always avoided banners on the forum, fearful that they'll maker the forum feel commercial, but I've realised that it's something I have to do to get something back and I'd also like to take the moderating team out for a decent drink sometime for all their work. I purposely haven't put the ads in the discussion sections of the forum because the discussion should be the main focus and I don't want to detract from them. However I think that if people are looking for a service or to buy and sell then the small banners won't be too much of an intrusion. Hopefully it'll raise more money which will allow us to spend time on upgrading the software and improve the forum. If you are interested in advertising please email [email protected] and someone will be in touch. If you have emailed already then please bear with us, we will be in touch shortly.
  25. Hi Yes that shouldn't happen, it's something we introduced last night and so appreciate the feedback. Please could you look at a page e.g. http://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/forum/list.php?30 and hold the Ctrl key and press the F5 key and let me know if it still happens. Also please could you let me know what browser and computer you are using e.g. Internet Explorer 7 and Windows XP. An easy way to do this is go to http://supportdetails.com/ and email it to [email protected] Thanks Mark
