In reality they just click on someone name like those in the outer circle. HAL, you're painting the forum as if it's a courtroom ... judge this, found guilty that, counsel for the defence etc, etc. I'd like to reassure you it's not, so relax, take off your wig and gown, put your speedos on and dive it, the water's great. If they have someone else's registration number on record then they won't be able to contact you. For all you know you have been given a ticket for another vehicle. Forget about it and spend the ?40 on something nice. [edited once] Added: obviously that's not legal advice.

It looks like it's the same one as this http://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/forum/read.php?12,394630,397128 you may have an AOL account or another one of the big ISPs but I expect it'll stop soon. Hopefully. And just to add I use chrome and have never seen this error.

You're filling a void with something made up. Just because something exists does not mean that someone/thing created it. We are intelligent enough to know that something was created by another person, such as a painting, but saying that a universe creator exists but we shouldn't dismiss it because there's no proof is daft. The wind that blows through the trees and rustles the leaves is the bellowing of bum air from an invisible gigantic man called Dave (who is a stamp collector in his spare time). paulanouicer, are you telling us that you cannot dismiss this theory because something has to make the wind move and put it in motion? It is something that we cannot recognise but, as it is written that it is the Air of Dave, but more importantly it is neither provable or non-provable, it must be true. [edited once] to word it more proper

Just to update that, it's now 12,972 registered users (of which 9,793 have posted) and about 3,200 unique users a day. As with nearly all forums most users just watch and so unfortunately we don't get to know what their opinions are. So what does this say about East Dulwich? As Keef said not a lot, you could look at the stats of the Lounge threads and make the conclusion that ED is full of word associating badminton players who are also musically talented footballing comedians that fly into irrational rage over a curry. Hmmm, hang on....

As he's an outdoors guy how about a weather station, you put the thermometer outside and it magically beams the temperature to the indoor display, something like this.. http://imgsrv.mdgmail.co.uk/medium/BAR206.jpg My mum's got one and thinks it's great, at least that's what she tells me. You can get ones with barometers, rain measures, forecasters etc but generally it's just handy for knowing what the temperature's like outside without having to go outside. I bought mum's from here http://www.weather-station-products.co.uk/cat--Shop-by-price-range-%C2%A330-to-%C2%A360--mid_price.html

It was removed on request, Admin busted them for posting fake recommendations.

I think in moderation they're fine, the odd *slaps hand to forehead* tells how someone feels about a post and is quite handy in getting that feeling across. I guess the name that springs to mind is LadyMuck who uses them a lot but I'm used to her writing now, and perhaps people don't realise that in real life every time she does something * and * appear next to her. Someone mentioned the quiet room but that's different because that's a theatrical performance.

I apologise for not mentioning his memory. I assumed it would be hard confusing a handful of police outside the station against police vans, a helicopter, roads cordoned off, traffic police, face-to-face and door-to-door enquires on Lordship Lane. [edited twice]

Domitianus Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > there were fewer police turned up for that major incident than have > been hanging around doing nothing at ED station! I don't know why I'm being defensive about the police, I guess it's just because it annoys me when people lie to make a point. Domitianus, after that stabbing there were police vans, a helicopter, roads cordoned off, traffic police, face-to-face and door-to-door enquires going on. Ask Karter, he was on the scene.

North Cross Road sub station - art installation
Mark replied to James Barber's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Am I the only one thinking ?2,200 for 44 diabond vinyl art squares!?! Let me know if you want them cheaper. -
Best to wait a year (if you can) for the sloe gin, it tastes smoother after that time. A 3 month old will still be a bit "ginny".

Personally I do go about my daily business without undue interference from the police state. However I have been stopped riding my motorbike by the afore mentioned fascist regime rozzers in a "routine roadside check" and they duly checked my driving licence, gave me a Think Bike high-viz vest and then let me go. Bastards. I have also had my car smashed into by joyriding twats who then ran off leaving me stuck with a big repair bill and a hatred of uninsured people on the roads. The point being that I don't mind being checked by the police and seeing them on the pavement outside the East Dulwich station and being sniffed by a dog doesn't bother me. However if I was a dealer hanging outside ED station selling drugs to commuters I would be bothered and I think that might be the point of the exercise.

Brilliant! Yes, what essential liberty has been given up? The right to vote? The right to bare arms? Freedom from slavery? Oh no, the right not to walk pass by a handful of police.

"Police in Crime Prevention Shocker!" As someone said, it's a police presence in the area on a Tuesday evening. If you're a "criminal" you're going to avoid the area and personally I think the area's better without "criminals". And I don't want my councillor campaigning against this. [edited once]

There were 6 officers there tonight.

Southwark Parking Wardens - setting a poor example
Mark replied to Gimme's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
"the situation will be better because......" a) it's less people parking in stupid places b) it's a feel good thing: Teacher gives you detention at school for smoking but later you see them smoking. Grrrr. Traffic warden gives you a ticket, you see them committing the same offence, they get done for it. Yeeeesssss. -

On double yellow lines, on a pavement and within 10 meters of a junction (not in a parking space). Three offences in one, that's gotta hurt. -
Thanks for the tips everyone, I ended up buying the Lagavulin from Boss Man. My mates 40th birthday present now consists of whisky, cigars, slippers, a packet of Werthers originals, an energy drink and a copy of 40+ (from the top shelf of Londis). Should keep him both comfy and busy for a while.

In iTunes, along the top click on "store" and you'll see "de-authorise the computer" I didn't do a back up beforehand but if you're worried copy your important things to CD/DVD/memory stick beforehand.

I've upgraded 1 laptop and 2 PCs in the last two weeks and have had no issues whatsoever but I would say: 1) Run the Windows 7 upgrade advisor 2) If you have Itunes, it may say uninstall it but all you have to do is de-authorise the computer, install Windows 7, then re-authorise it 3) It takes a while, mine all took between 3 - 6 hours each but after the initial 15 minutes you can leave it to do its own stuff. I left mine running overnight. You may have to tweak a couple of things at first (pinning things to the start menu/task bar but it's worth spending 10 minutes after the install watching the what's new in Windows 7 video. Good luck
