it's true, the next 41 minutes are going seem like an eternity. By the way, what's "the shanter" is it a river? A chimney? The ol' Kent road?

You can also set up a web cam to email you if motion is detected, it emails you a picture of the action. Handy if you're at work and want to check what time the builder actually arrives ;-)

The Forum at the Fair Sunday 13 May (updated)

Thanks for all the offers. I'm waiting to hear back if the pitch is still available but if it is I reckon we have something viable. We can have a place to gather, have a chat, gossip etc and hang out (especially useful if it rains). We need: - Two gazebos (?160 for both) - Cost of pitch (?) - Some seating (mockney's sofa & my sofa) - More Seats/seating/straw bales and a way of making sure they don't get nicked - Some flooring perhaps as if the floors damp people can sit on and chair legs don't go straight into the ground - Pallettes to put the sofa's on and lift off the ground in case it rains - Some covers/throws that can get dirty to put on the sofas - A couple of signs - I'm thinking of slicing up some 8x4 MDF and painting it (Any sign writers or steady handed people out there?) - Some notice boards where people can put up their Wanted, offered & recommendations and What's on in East Dulwich - A trestle table (I can hire one from the organiser) - Help putting it up and taking it down OK, how to collect the kind donations to purchase the tents... perhaps someone knows someone who works in a shop on Lordship lane where people can drop by and put some cash in a tin. At the next forum meet-up could someone kindly do a whipround, preferably when after the drinks have been flowing and therefore the generosity. After the event I will sell the marquee and give the proceeds to a local charity. Your thoughts... -

I bought a 400D at Christmas and and very pleased with it but I've always been a Canon fan, you can see a picture taken with it here. I second Hugeunot's comments about the 30D, wait for the 40D instead if you can. Also Canon are doing a cashback on various products at the moment http://www.canon-europe.com/2007promotions with ?55 back on the 400D For buying kit, I find that http://www.warehouseexpress.com is good on service and price (I bought mine through them) and have a read of the magazines, my personal favourite is Digital Photo -

Sorry, I forgot to mention it on this post, Mockney's Historic post was: Re: 6 for 1... Posted by: mockney piers March 30, 04:40PM That would explain my inability to understand your drunken patter after 8 pints ;) which can be seen here in all its glory http://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/forum/read.php?20,10073,10124#msg-10119

Here are a couple of pictures taken in Budgens and Somerfield on a Saturday morning that may have some reflection of the type of people round these parts. Can you tell which is the most popular paper bought on Lordship Lane? http://farm1.static.flickr.com/167/446043133_d122cef8b8.jpg?v=0http://farm1.static.flickr.com/208/446047211_00101d3031.jpg?v=0

what about this one? The Party Gazebo Complete with Side Panels. http://www.argos.co.uk/wcsstore/argos/images/6501479A61UC52080X.jpg http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/6501479/Trail/C%24cip%3D49998.DIY%2C%2Bgarden%2Band%2Bcar%3EC%24cip%3D49999.Garden%2Bfurniture%3EC%24cip%3D50000.Gazebos%2Band%2Bgarden%2Bawnings.htm 6m x 3m ?70 - Put Mockney's sofa in there, some chairs, Can anyone offer any more seating? Maybe two of them together to make a proper area... Oh, I can feel a plan coming on.... -
kinda relating this to another thread somewhere, whouldn't it be great if all the small meat, fish, grocery shops etc stayed open just a little later in the evening so you could get fresh food after work? Instead having to go to Somerfield and Sainsburys it would be great to get home take a quick stroll down the strip on a summer's evening to pick up some fresh fish and veg for dinner (whilst trying to ignore the pubs and bars on the way). It seems that even the fish counter at Somerfield closes at just-before-Mark-gets-there o'clock. I'm not in retail but why don't they stay open 'til 7? Surely the footfall ;-) is pretty good at that time, look at the queues in the supermarkets...

(updated) Hi For the Dulwich Festival Fair on Goose Green on Sunday 13 May the East Dulwich Forum would like to have an area where people can sit, chat and relax. This forum runs on nothing but love, your love. OK, technically that's not quite true but you know what I mean, we took sponsors on a couple of weeks ago but they cover the cost of the computer server hosting. It would be fantastic if people could offer something, so if you have an idea of how the Forum could be re-created on Goose Green please let me know. (added 08 April) Thanks for all the offers. The pitch is available so I reckon we have something viable, a place to gather, have a chat, gossip etc and hang out (especially useful if it rains). We need: - One or maybe two gazebos (?80 each) - Some seating (mockney's sofa & my sofa) - More Seats/seating/straw bales and a way of making sure they don't get nicked - Some flooring perhaps as if the floors damp people can sit on and chair legs don't go straight into the ground - Pallettes to put the sofa's on and lift off the ground in case it rains - Some covers/throws that can get dirty to put on the sofas - A couple of signs - I'm thinking of slicing up some 8x4 MDF and painting it (Any sign writers or steady handed people out there?) - Some notice boards where people can put up their Wanted, offered & recommendations and What's on in East Dulwich - A trestle table (I can hire one from the organiser) - Help putting it up and taking it down OK, how to collect the kind donations to purchase the tents... Mockney will do a whip round at the CPT this Friday (see this thread). Perhaps someone knows someone who works in a shop on Lordship lane where people can drop by and put some cash in a tin. After the event I will sell the marquee and give the proceeds to a local charity. Your thoughts... Thanks Mark More details on the Fair can be found on the website http://www.festivalfair.co.uk/

Personally I don't resent those, I think they're great. Anything that helps and encourages people to develop is brilliant in my book, it doesn't matter who they are. I'm bored of this now. The original basis of posting was about wouldn't it be nice if Fusion would open the pool to everyone after the women only session. I'm not saying don't have a women only session, I'm not saying don't have a women only session. Now it's reverted to implications of resentment of children's, elderly and disabled facilities which is quite frankly pathetic and offensive. We're talking of making a 2 hour women only session on a Thursday into a one hour session so more people can enjoy themselves. Get it into perspective. *takes big breath in, breathes out and relaxes* -
are there any legal minds for a funny question

Are there any roving reporters out there in East Dulwich (or someone with a camera) who could go to Howden Road just near the Gowlett Pub, take some photos then post them on here? -
