  2. If people are putting their names down as "Mickey Mouse" then they are idiots , whilst they may not want to be identified what if "daffy duck" who was also drinking in the pub tests positive for Covid just after, Mickey couldn't be traced so goes on to infect his family and as a result his granny who was shielded catches covid and dies slowly and painfully alone and afraid. Whilst it's a made up scenario, that's the potential result of the crass stupidity employed by so many so called educated people.

  4. Still The benefits of the scheme across the borough are clear https://www.southwarknews.co.uk/news/stumbling-blocks-confusion-reigns-over-walworth-road-redesign-amid-claims-flowerbeds-are-blocking-police-pursuits/ especially for criminals 😱
  5. I understand the reason of expanding to bring in more income but the question remains where are they getting the upfront capital needed to implement it and pay a new 5 Year expanded contract to capita That's the bit that I'm not seeing as TfL are basically broke at the moment.
  6. It could be a conspiracy to stop school kids and teachers turning to drink 😱 Think I will start that as a rumour on theyareoutthere.UFO.UK 😆
  7. I still fail to understand how TfL / the mayor can afford to expand the ULEZ at a time when he's going to the government cap in hand to ask for money to stop TfL from failing due to poor financial management and lack of customers. It does strike me that maybe (pure speculation) the mayors predicted cut in police and fire budgets is being done to fund the ULEZ. I have no evidence or seen any documents on this but it does seem strange that TfL are able to mysteriously find funding to expand the scheme, rehire capita at a higher contract value (capita incidentally are hiring a further 500 people to implement the scheme which shows how much they are adding to their bill) and obviously have funds to install all the new cameras needed to monitor roads yet still be running a deficit that needs government funding. As Elvis sang "suspicious minds"

But it's a road junction Technically it was designed for vehicle traffic so actually using it for cars is logical and valid
  10. Are you German kid? don't want to have to get up early to fight you for my sun lounger ! I'm the house next door to the people next door to me 😆

  13. Sadly with the risk of a second wave and the chances that going abroad will result in a sudden two week quarantine being implemented , I think the perfect holiday location for me is my back garden, okay there isn't a pool (paddling pools don't count) but it's relaxing, sunny and there is no competition for loungers to get the towels out first !

Really ... the rare white range rover, a very endangered species normally seen in its native environment of the scrappus yardus of Sloane Bit of an exaggeration there tbnhg , now if you said family cars filled with families doing family things it might have been credible. I think rouwj is referring to the risk presented by a large gathering of spreading the virus during a pandemic that hasn't gone away despite the way people are behaving

Logically speaking only of it is flying directly towards or away from the windscreen at the time If it was flying across the windscreen then it's mind and arse would pop at the same time upon which point it would possibly think "ouch" There is also the issue of semi impact where the fly is travelling in the same direction as the car and only partially impacts on the windscreen leaving a tattered behind but fully active frontal part in which case it may think "what the heck" So many reasons why your attempt at humour has so many inconclusive faults so as not to make it funny Bazinga

Perfection .... who needs side salad as if carlsburg did BBQ's they would probably be the best BBQ's in the world ...

So are you saying that there's a different class or breed of flies on rye lane ? Possibly your lanus flyus breed ? Or is it the overwhelming attraction of fish and meat up and down the lane that draws them outside again ?

    Flies

Why are flies clever enough to smell out your food when eating outside, smart enough to find an open window or door to invade your house but not smart enough to find the same opening or a different one to get out again ? What's the meaning of a fly's life ?

We need to be careful > but you get the feeling some people aren't happy > unless everyone is miserably sitting at home > eating their "essential food". The current guidance https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/coronavirus-outbreak-faqs-what-you-can-and-cant-do/coronavirus-outbreak-faqs-what-you-can-and-cant-do#social-contact-and-events limits gatherings (see section 2) and whilst there are exceptions to the rule of a maximum of 30 people there needs to be a risk assessment in place However as pointed out in another thread Southwark are not licensing events at the moment so there is a question mark hanging over the legality of the events on the square. Sadly as seen in Spain, France and locations like Preston and GM, the virus isn't under control yet and it just takes one person to infect a group (remember the wedding in India where the groom infected a whole load of guests) Whilst the figures are low in Southwark it just takes one infected person regardless how they got it, to see a local spike and we will all be in the news for the wrong reason. I agree, the pub is just about the same or a higher risk, but as there is a register of attendees then there is the ability to quickly 😏 identify people from a track and trace perspective. Personally I won't be attending any events on the new square, not just because I believe it's a council pet project that has been forced through without proper consultation, but because I don't want to end up breathing through a tube and suffering post viral side effects (long covid) like so many have
  24. Abe_froeman Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > I wonder of they'll have ice skating there in the > winter. > > What else can they put on in privilege square? Maybe , like the communist party of China does in Tiananmen Square, the council could put on an annual show of its might by driving dust carts through it once a year whilst the crowd politely clap chairman Peter John (if they don't clap they will face death by a thousand CPZs ) and the villagers can all release doves dyed red in his honor and to celebrate crushing the evil West's plan to allow freedom of driving All hail emperor Ming..... >
  25. They have events on every Saturday this month and I suspect it's not totally cost neutral
