Depends if you mean the original or remake I guess ?
  3. Two friends try to be scary but aren't
  4. Some price rises are down to suppliers increasing their costs and not the business trying to get extra income. It's a tricky one to judge and different stores may charge different prices depending on their stock levels and when they get a delivery (supplier prices may go down as demand decreases or up if supplier stock levels are low ) So before you judge a store / business make sure it is them and not the supply chain

  13. I'll confess to plagiarising this idea. Can you describe your favorite movie as boringly as possible? An example I saw was "5 kids stuck in the school library all day." (the breakfast club)
  14. Thanks James If I remember correctly, the rising bollards were installed by the then Peckham Programme team (thankfully now disbanded) after their town centre manager went to see it in operation in Oxford. The difference was Oxfordshire drivers respected the bollards that lowered to let buses through and the Peckham drivers believed they could drive over them by tailgating buses. Quite a few cars were wrecked if I remember correctly so a very expensive but badly thought through scheme failed and cost even more to remove a few years later. You would hope that the transport team in the council would have learnt how not to waste our money by now but hey ho Really don't understand why they just don't something like widen the pavements with passing points and loading bays built in then allow buses only and a limited permit managed no of delivery vehicles to traverse what would effectively by a single track road where buses pause in the passing bays to let each other pass. (A sort of extension of the scheme outside the section at the Aylsham centre) Of course a scheme like this would need proper consultation but it could boost night time and restaurant economy by allowing tables to use the wider pavements outside core shopping hours
  15. Whilst this is slightly out if the area, it has to be mentioned. Rye lane will be closed to allow pedestrians to shop safely. Buses will be diverted and not use Rye Lane. Going to make shopping in Peckham hard for those that rely on buses to get there, including the elderly, disabled or those with children. Most shops don't have rear access so restocking will also be difficult. From past closures of Rye Lane, this will potentially have a massive negative impact on the businesses along its length. Not sure Southwark have a joined up approach to this end of the borough or have consulted local businesses and residents about how their implementation of street closures in Dulwich and Peckham will impact them.
  16. So true springtime We give companies like facebook and twitter (other social media platforms are also available) massive insights into our lives so that they can push tailored adverts towards us whilst also allowing us to become people we aren't (look at me, I must be popular as I'm eating tofu in a steak house and 73 people I've never met like it...) or to post comments about people we've never met (or will meet in real life) Maybe it's time to tear down the social media fiefdoms and return to good old fashioned real friendship again and remove the big companies ability to influence our lives. When will we wake up to the fact that the greatest trick the Devil ever pulled was convincing the world that social media was social.
  17. Saw an article that points out theme parks are opening this weekend and people have to wear a mask when on the rides. Why can I just see that being an accident about to happen when little Billy brings up his third hotdog just at the apex of the looping twisting ride into his mask. Not sure I would want to be going to a theme park at the moment !
  18. It's a real thing but the licences are fake as are any of the documents they can provide Don't fall for it

Or there are far too many people in London which overwhelmes the infrastructure and ability for all to share the space efficiently regardless if they are car, bike or waking supporters. The argument can be cut many ways depending on the point of view you want to promote.

  23. It seems that social media (and sadly forums like this) are killing neighbourly interaction. Before I start the forum has useful posts about things like "healthy streets" which galvanise groups of people to understand and work together about issues but far too often there are posts about "my neighbour has a security light" or "my neighbour has noisy kids" or even "Mrs Brown, my neighbour picks blackberry's in the nip" ! Why oh why do the ops not politely knock on their neighbours door (or post note through their letter box if they are too much of a coward to knock) and have a civil discussion. It most probably isn't a problem your neighbour is aware off, they may actually be nice people, sympathetic and understanding and you may even (god forbid) become friends. But all too often people hide behind a pseudo name, and post a complaint that 99% of East Dulwich isn't effected by but will give opinion on. It's like the old days when someone cried "monster" and the locals all gathered by torch light with pitchforks to drive the monster away (2012 I believe was the last time.) In these troubled times we all need a bit of neighbourly support and community spirit so maybe rather than posting on here, go have that conversation first ! Oh and the person parking where I normally do .....
  24. Rather than post on here about how annoying it is, the light must belong to one of your neighbours so why not politely knock on their door and mention it (or ask someone else to knock if you are shielding) !
  25. Foxy They don't work on your mange only moths and if the right sized ones are used for the room size (I.e. big room = 2 bombs) then repeated a month later they tend to kill larvae, eggs and moths to stop the cycle !
