Some interesting points raised so far, and I think to encourage more people to add creative thinking, at this stage we shouldn't raise questions over what's been suggested or its practicality, even if they seem a bit of a stretch at the moment. The more ideas on the table, the better chance of debating and agreeing to create a realistic concept for how the street space can be shared safely by all. This is exactly the sort of exercise Southwark should have undertaken rather than imposing something that seems to have drawn so much negative feeling. Who knows, if there are good alternatives presented the councillors may actually listen to the community 🤔

It all depends on how urgent you are, not on how you arrive The triage nurse will assign you a space in the queue depending on your symptoms. However if you are unlucky enough to call an ambulance and they deem you a blue light case, urgent, then you will go to the top of the queue, but if they deem you non urgent then it's down to the triage nurse when you get there. Long answer to say that it possibly didn't make any real difference how you arrived, it's how serious your symptoms or condition is that will make a difference.

Good starting points, thank you

And back to bickering rather than debating creative solutions Strewth 🙄

Devil's advocate time Do we need exclusive safe routes for active travel Or Better use of shared space for everyone ? Are cars the devil's some people portray them to be or is it how they are driven ? Maybe alternatives to closing off streets to all for the benefits of a few need to be weighed up to see if there is a better way of safely sharing ? As others have said, an LTN is a blunt tool and with creative thinking and planning there could be alternatives In Germany 25 years ago around some schools, they removed the kerb to blend the pavement and the road, making it hard for drivers to "own" the road, as a result drivers were more cautious and slower through these areas. Possibly not a wider area solution but it was creative. How about instead of everyone arguing over if LTNs are right or wrong, the community on here puts their creative head together to suggest ways the space can be shared sensibly and safely. After all, as the street space review said "people need to use other forms of transport to be able to travel, such as private cars". So let's look how to implement a scheme or schemes that benefits all not just a few and mitigates the I'm right, you're wrong type arguments.

I think that what goes on in your loft Bob, is over most people's heads.

I guess, like most people Bob, that I just "skimmed" over that last bit 🤨

You couldn't make it up Today there is a high pollution warning for London however even if we had a London wide ULEZ it wouldn't help as the Mayor said "we are importing pollution from the continent" LOL is he trying to impose his car free empire across Europe 🤔😄 Regardless be careful out there if you have breathing related issues. Not confusing at all Sue, Bob is obviously the 'comedy' account of a well known forumite who seems to have at least 3 personalities Maybe when he / she is CN150, they are all being treated by her for multiple personality disorders at the Mausdley (oh yes they are , oh no they aren't) Regardless, keep on posting Bob as it's part of your therapy

It is becoming an increasingly grey area (50 shades worth) For example, whilst someone whom is pre operation is allowed to identify as the opposite gender to the one they were born as, should they have access to services for the gender they associate with? Examples of this include a man identifying as female entering a woman's refuge or woman's toilet. Whilst there is a discussion to be had we shouldn't shy away from the discussion or hard questions for fear of offending people. If we are open, those who have issues may learn from the discussion, those in the middle may understand why there are objections and resistance and can then work to create mitigations and as the OP raised, rules/guidelines can be put in place to ensure fairness for all and ensure everyone is comfortable with change.

Bob It's obvious Mrs Buzzard is obviously cooking them breakfast and trying hard to make sure they get their sausages in before the heavy humping for the day starts. I would be more worried if Mrs Buzzard was complaining that her eggs were fertilised whilst making breakfast. I suspect that the builders also have a mattress in the back of their van to facilitate an over night session when they have an early start to their errection work 😉

But to follow up on penguins point They can't tell what sort of engine the vehicle is using If 100 hybrids or electric go over it on battery power for example, it still counts then as cars and therefore the calculated figures will be inaccurate. Therefore "guestimated" figures based solely on volume not engine type are at best misleading at wirst just completely wrong.

Just seen this https://m.facebook.com/peckhamlido/

That's a good question about the lido as funding was raised according to the website in the last post but no further details are available It would be a great return for the area but has it gone down the plughole ?

There's an online petition against the second expension of the ULEZ https://chng.it/y65K5QZvY7 Some interesting comments about why people are signing it.

I find the staff at King's and Bowley Close tend to introduce themselves first time you meet them but then assume you remember their names and roles afterwards. In my experience they are quite happy if you ask who they are and what their role is if you are unsure. The best introduction was from a radiographer who said "I'm Mary and today I'm taking your passport photos" (name changed)

Percentages can be misleading as they hide the figures behind then For example if on a Monday one person walks past a point and on Tuesday two people do That's am increase of one person but as a percentage its 100% Without seeing the verified source data then a percentage on its own is misleading

Spartacus replied to Penguin68's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
I love the fact that 2 years ago everyone was whineing about the introduction of changes to what was a free service Now people are saying how good value it is compared to other boroughs. Short memories? -
If it was / is fraud have the police been involved? If it isn't fraud then it's slander and again have the police become involved? It's a slippery slope accusing someone of fraud unless there is overwhelming evidence that it is.

Having looked at the councillors tweets on this (as highlighted in the thread earlier) it strikes me once again that leading up to local election when councillors should be engaging with and listening to residents, that having your twitter account set to "only people councillor x follows and people mentioned in this tweet can respond" is a bit weird. Seems to me that it reinforces their echo chamber and demonstrates that they don't want to listen to or engage with voters. But that's just my take on it.

This is related to the fire and love the advice https://www.southwarknews.co.uk/news/firefighters-recommend-ordering-takeaway-after-cooking-fire-in-east-dulwich/

Metallic Can you give some more background or reference information to your last post as it seems to assume people know what it relates to ?
