Interesting, so when the consultation occurred last year and the overwhelming view was removed the LTN from those that responded, you still want to claim that the council did a pretty excellent job listening to feedback ? Didn't feel like it at the time ๐Ÿ˜•
  2. Whilst on the huge mantle has been banned in the past, they do make an interesting point that those who voted to give the tories a kicking may have also kicked themselves in the pants as labour now has a mandate to deliver more of the things we all moan about In a few years when a Borough wide CPZ is introduced, council estate green spaces are concrete jungles and its impossible to drive out of your own road. Don't come on here crying as "You had your chance to change the narrative ๐Ÿคจ"

  4. It's simple Ken Peer pressure, they fear that if they aren't on the app then their rivals are and that they will lose sales and by being on it they hope and have been sold the idea that they may get more sales. But the honest truth is that they lose out to the middle man (the app company) who acts like a pimp and takes money off the workers
  5. HP The article talks about joined services between 2 councils to save money by not duplicating staff Makes perfect sense as most council office workers should easily be able to deal with a larger case load without much of an issue It's how many private sector companies work when they merge resources.
  6. I am thinking that if Labour are re-elected locally then we might as well all shut up on the issues of CPZs, LTNs and other things we moan about Southwark for because we will be giving the green light to proceed with their plans Regardless of the government in power, this is about local issues being driven by our local council and whilst the national parties may crow about it, a general election is the time to make a political statement about how the country is run. Please don't confuse the two things otherwise we will get what we don't want by sheer stupidity
  7. KidKruger Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Thanks legal. > And you can turn up with a postal vote paper, > right ? > (Asking for a friend..) If you have a postal vote, you can vote on it, seal it and deliver it to the polling station, but you can't do a vote there.
  8. As a light touch with everyone shouting at each other today
  9. Cyclemonkey Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > There is a reason why Wandsworth has very low > Council tax - the services aee minimal and you pay > extra for everything. With someone who has friends in Wandsworth, that's hokum cyclemonkey Services are just as good, if not better then here

  11. I hope Labour gets a good kicking Rah x3 as the election IS about local issues which they don't seem to care about.
  12. heartblock Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > I think they will become cheaper..all cars will be > EVs one day, the sooner the better. Will they or will hydrogen or other solutions be in the mix ?
  13. Rah x3 Its about a democratic process and the council engaging with and listening to residents But you seem to want to run a "cynical, populist campaign to make cycling as easy as possible / increase cycle use." Pot and kettle here
  14. Waseley Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Do share the pic on this thread. There will be no > issues about privacy if it was in a public space. Pic of what ?
  15. I had that in the past Some where for security training and if you didn't report them questions were raised Others were "dodgy" and you got reported if you did open them Either way a course followed. I failed by opening "Kim Kardashian wants to keep abreast of your security status" as it was both dodgy and needed reporting. I was torn and simply put it in a tractor folder deleted it
  16. Lol Forget LTNs, forget building on Green Spaces, are you simply voting for whoever offers you a free curry Foxy?
  17. I guess what will be good is that only people who live locally and are affected by the LTNs can vote here so we shouldn't see outside influces from pro LTN groups (including the cycling fraternity) shepherding supporters into the area to influence decisions.
  18. The chippie on North Cross Road is just about to start using delivery services but has been quoted that they take a 30 to 50% commission for each transaction. That's a ridiculous amount and if that's true across all small restaurants then for them to make money out of it they may have raised their prices Is having an app to feed your junk food addiction worth paying higher prices for or is it better for your bank balance, fitness and the environment to simply walk somewhere and collect the food in person ๐Ÿค”? Cut out the middle man and deal directly with local businesses is my advice.
  19. Apparently tractor sites are linked to porn. Who knew that Massey Fergusan is a chesty Sarah Fergusan impersonation act ๐Ÿคฃ Is it me or does anyone expect Neil Parish to do a statement like this
  20. James Point 40 talks about encouraging zero emission or lower polluting cars and says "Lower parking fees ...across the whole of the Borough" Does this imply a Borough wide CPZ is on the cards if Labour wins?
  21. Was anyone at the Dulwich Hill Hustings this week, what were the main points that cane out of it and what was said about building on green spaces, LTNs and a Borough wide CPZ ?
  22. Got to say, this is doing the rounds and made me smile
  23. I've had mine (or was it yours and mine is still to come) Do you pay by dd and are you band a to d ?

  25. Jazzer Just had a similar conversation about end of year budget and the concept of "pre election" was raised (as in look what we are doing to improve things) No idea if there's a correlation or not but it was an interesting point. Also why were the Rye Lane roadworks not done when the lane was closed to all traffic is a mystery ๐Ÿค”
