Percentages can be misleading as they hide the figures behind then For example if on a Monday one person walks past a point and on Tuesday two people do That's am increase of one person but as a percentage its 100% Without seeing the verified source data then a percentage on its own is misleading

Garden Waste Collection 2022-23

I love the fact that 2 years ago everyone was whineing about the introduction of changes to what was a free service Now people are saying how good value it is compared to other boroughs. Short memories? -
If it was / is fraud have the police been involved? If it isn't fraud then it's slander and again have the police become involved? It's a slippery slope accusing someone of fraud unless there is overwhelming evidence that it is.

Having looked at the councillors tweets on this (as highlighted in the thread earlier) it strikes me once again that leading up to local election when councillors should be engaging with and listening to residents, that having your twitter account set to "only people councillor x follows and people mentioned in this tweet can respond" is a bit weird. Seems to me that it reinforces their echo chamber and demonstrates that they don't want to listen to or engage with voters. But that's just my take on it.

Metallic Can you give some more background or reference information to your last post as it seems to assume people know what it relates to ?

I think you need to widen that slightly to include the proposal for a Borough wide CPZ

In other news Ukraine are currently no 2 in the paralympics medal table behind China Now that's gotta hurt Putins pride.

Interesting idea for a website and if you can produce an unbiased summary of each party and candidates views on key campaign points it would be a useful comparison tool. In my opinion that could include : - LTNs and alternatives - Borough wide CPZ and parking - Infill development (on estate green areas) - Plans to improve transport - High Street support measures - Social care plans - Schools - Safety (including street light maintenance) This election shouldn't be just about one thing as other equally important items need to be addressed but I did agree that if they aren't listening then they need to be made to listen.

SUV Tyres Deflated on Burbage Road

Apparently they have given themselves a name Tyre Extinguishers ---- not quite the name I would call them.. BBC News - Tyre Extinguishers: Scores of SUVs have tyres deflated by activists https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-60660711 -

CPR Dave Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > > Why aren't people going round deflating dogs too? I've now got a vision of a Great Dane bring deflated to the size of a Chihuahua. I wonder how supportive people would be of this tyre deflation protest if the person doing it was disturbed half way through and the car then driven on a motorway with a half inflated tyre which then caused an accident? Whilst some are arguing its not a criminal act, it could well turn into something more serious in the above scenario. Every Action .... -

You make it sound as if the whole of South East London drives around in Range Rovers and Jeeps I can count the toes on one foot the number of Range Rovers and Jeeps I've seen around here in the last year.. Then again I suspect in your head everyone drives a yellow Range Rover aka layer cake style -
Is it sad or cynical of his motivations After all in a few years we're all supposed to be driving electric or hydrogen vehicles so it's a short term expensive tool that when petrol/ diesel is no longer used will need to look at another way to raise revenue

After the disaster of Christmas post (I'm still misding small parcels that were sent 6 weeks ago) they add insult to injury BBC News - Price of first class stamps to rise to 95p https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-60620378 Interesting to read that coronavirus lockdowns led to a sharp reduction in letter volumes yet the system couldn't cope with the reduced load Something very wrong there..

It appears that the mayor now wants to extend his cash grab out across the whole of London. IMHO he can't generate enough revenue from the existing scheme so casting his net wider. It's not really about pollution as we're all moving to electric vehicles aren't we. In an ideal world Springtime is correct but we are possibly 20 years from that point and if it all goes horribly wrong in the Ukraine global warming could be the least of our issues However the question is still valid of why are we using Russian gas at the moment as economically they massively benefit from it whilst gas prices are high
-
Getting back to the discussion in hand Whilst the UK and Europe are imposing sanctions on Russia which has resulted in gas prices rising why are the UK and Europe still buying gas from Russia which is pouring millions extra into their economy as a result of wholesale prices rising. Whilst it will add hardship in the gas wholesale market it will also cut off a flow of cash to Russia. Admittedly we only take a small percentage of Russian gas but Europe takes (from memory) 40% of their supply.

Try knocking if you are passing to see if they are aware before reporting them. It could be as simple as the owner not being aware since the storms.

Melbourne Grove Market Trial Online Survey
Spartacus replied to andrewc's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Enhanced as in more businesses located in one centre offering more products that will attract people to it. Shoppers are more likely to spend more money locally if when shopping for something specific like "cookies" they spot something they like but weren't expecting to see in the same location so it's good for shoppers who don't need to go to two places and good for local businesses. Market economics ... you are more likely to go to a bigger more varied market then a small or one stall market🤔 -
