Life's gonna hurt, and if you choose to take drugs then you also choose the consequences. No one forces you to take them so if life turns around and kicks you by giving you a reaction then frankly you were in control of your own destiny and the sad thing is it's the people left behind that get hurt the most.
  2. I'm looking forward to 20 years from now when Joe Peckham and Funny are on here complaining that a music festival on the Rye has kept their kids awake all night and they are now too tired to go and do their jobs. Assuming of course that they don't od on some dodgy tabs first that is like so many people I knew in my youth have.
  3. Interesting, they are married you know. So are you saying married people don't or should have sex and children ? Wow what an amazingly different place East Dulwich would be if that was the case! Like him or loath him, as a married couple they are only doing what other married couples do..
  4. They seem to be out early this year.
  5. You are right Blah Blah, however what I am saying is that by simply showing ID to prove you're not John Smith when you answer the door to the police at home would defuse the whole are you Mr x , no I'm not debacle and resolve things quickly. Clearly hedgehog was within in their rights not to prove their identity, but sometimes volunteering information on who you are will clear up the situation a lot quicker and may help avoid additional confrontation.
  6. That's quite an allegation hedgehog or a leap to conclusion, I'm not saying you're wrong or doubting you but if you are going to bring a case forward make sure you have solid evidence. Police officers are often tasked with visiting the address of people who, for example, have either failed to attend court or skipped bail and all the information they get is a name and address so they aren't expected to confirm the details are correct as they were told to attend a premise. It may be that the person they are looking for has given your address and that's where the confusion lies, or that at sometime in the past the person they are looking for was known to frequent your address (possibly before you moved in) and the police are using old data to find someone. Sometimes, and it's not a reflection on your actions, just saying who you are and showing a letter, driving licence or other similar proof will stop them from trying to establish if John Smith is there. Remember they are doing their job and stretched massively by demands on them so the happy friendly Bobby who has time for a chat is sadly mostly in our past. I hope the fact that they went away will mean an end to the situation and you have no more visits of this type but it may be a good suggestion to call up the police station and establish why they came to your address so that if someone has given a false address you can get the record rectified.
  7. It's alright Rockets, mankind didn't actually land on the Moon either... 😱😂 Oh hang we did and I don't think you're far off the mark with the above.
  8. With the passing of Dusty Hill this week this really should be the only choice and a fitting tribute
  9. Just as we're being encouraged to go back into the office.... left hand / right hand 😱

Got to admit I keep on reading the title of this as "Broexit" a thread about the break up of two best mates over something trivial (sounds like a soap plot line) Thinking deeper BoJo and Cummings could be the leading players!

You're right Alice, but for the record a little light relief can often break the tension caused when two sides are at loggerheads and there's no apparent way of meeting in the middle. But I'll be the first to say "sorry mom"

I guess the real crunch point is if Boris delivers on his promises to level up t' north and if the former red wall remains blue or reverts back to red. London has a lot of labour supporters but not enough to be the deciding factor in a GE so it possibly relies on how voters outside of the M25 feel on election day!
  14. first mate Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > In fairness, I think a number of us are guilty as > charged 😀 Oh we all are, but there is only so much room on the Ft. bit and it would have been a rock opera if I named everyone 😱
  15. Sorry couldn't resist as this thread has been going on and on for so long.

That's a really important question concerning why it was closed in the first place...

Wow that way leads to madness then machines demanding equal rights and before you know it ... we will be employed to look after aging robots and ...oh you get the picture 😱
  22. Ed26 A possible counter to the "if they delayed it another month" is that more young people could be vaccinated and the current wave could be smaller with less people likely to catch it when we unlock. It's a tough one to call
  23. Madness Let's divide the footfall .. they would be better off extending north cross road market to become a bigger area attraction

  25. The awkward thing about bringing people over to look after us as we age, is that eventually they will age and require looking after which means we need more people to come over and look after them and when they age .... It's a vicious circle and the ideal solution is going back to extended families where the younger generation all help to look after the older generation. But the western world moved away from that in the pursuit of happiness through home ownership and as a result ...
