  1. I'll definitely be cheering on Leeds tonight. I think Spurs missed a trick by not playing Defoe from the start instead of Crouch. Vidic and Ferdinand pretty much snuffed him out of the game. They seem to have a lot more difficulty with the smaller type of player. When you have an old fashioned target man like Crouch it's sometimes too tempting to go for the easier option and playing a long ball up to him. I think we played into United's hands by doing that a little too often and made it easier for the United back four to deal with his aerial threat. It's not as if we've been playing like that this season either. Crouch has mostly been on the bench. I would also liked to have seen Jermaine Jenas playing instead of Wilson Palacios but I guess we needed him to win the ball in midfield.

  3. So your son wasn't actually hit by this car and he is also unhurt? Perhaps when the driver "stopped momentarily" he looked around to see if your son was alright before driving off? What do you hope to achieve by this?
  4. Who's everyone? Nope. I can't hear them.
  5. Most British footballers are severely overpriced and especially during the January Sales.
  6. Wouldn't you like to see a positive LSD story on the news? To base your decision on information rather than scare tactics and superstition? Perhaps? Wouldn't that be interesting? Just for once? "Today, a young man on acid realized that all matter is merely energy condensed to a slow vibration ? that we are all one consciousness experiencing itself subjectively. 7. Well that's told me hasn't it. Thanks for putting me in my place David. He's currently without a club and back training at Arsenal. I suspect he'll be off to the States for a last payday and good luck to him. He was a top player who's only real glitch was the handballing that got France qualified for the last World Cup.
  8. He didn't do much at Barca did he. He's finished.
  9. He can't be that stupid can he? No wait, hang on.
  10. Oh I don't know Keef, to come up with something like that shows he's got a very highly trained sense of humour.
  11. I had to laugh when I saw this quote from Ray Parlour: - "Is it the case that 50 per-cent of West Ham fans want Avram Grant sacked and the other half want him to stay? Or is it the other way around?"

Fuck the royal wedding. To have a street party on Lordship Lane would prove to be impossible. Too much traffic and public transport. Have it on your on street if that's what you want just as long as it's not on mine.
  13. Comedian Micky Flanagan in the CPT yesterday watching Spurs v Man Utd.
  14. Well that's told me. Thanks Hal9000, everything is much clearer now.
  15. What the fuck are you lot on (about)?
  16. I think it's good etiquette to not post the results up on here before MOTD for those who do not know the results and want to watch it without knowing what they were. Spoils the enjoyment somewhat otherwise. Also - Mac, I think Spurs have a better chance of winning the Champions League than winning the Premiership.
  17. As an Aquarian I don't believe in any of that astrology nonsense.
  18. Celine & The Nite Wreckage First album should be out in March (hopefully).

The goal he scores against United in that 5-1 mauling was pure genius and one that Bestie would have been proud off. He was my idol when I was a kid. In fact he was George Best's footballing idol too.

Really looking forward to today's footy. Obviously I want Spurs to turn Man Utd over but I'd also love to see Liverpool win as well. COYS!
  21. Bloody hell! You're right. Maybe I am going senile after all.
  22. Hugenuts you're really being a terrible bore. I saw him play live just the once. At White Hart Lane where he scored that sublime goal where he chipped the Spurs defence and our keeper Pat Jennings from just inside the box. Even as a Spurs fan you had to admire and applaud such great skill. Up until then, no one had ever done anything like that before. What's more I remember very well watching him regularly on MOTD and On The Ball and the time he terrorised Scotland in the Home Internationals, the time he whipped the ball out of Gordon Banks in mid-air and "scored". And remember clearly watching the European Cup final of '68 aged ten when he rounded the keeper to score and ended up 5-1 winners. We're not all young bucks like you you know. Some of us are a little more mature in years and haven't quite gone senile yet.

  24. Good advice Minkturtle. I thought it had a diary feel to it too. Hence the tweaking.
  25. It's possible Maradona would attract top quality players given money to spend. Depends how much. It would also put the club in the world spotlight because of his fame. It's a big risk as he's completely bonkers. He would certainly need some top quality coaches to work alongside because technically he was seriously found wanting during the World Cup. I think anyone appointing him would be mad to take him on.
