  1. I love the East London Line. It has taken 40 minutes off my journey to Canary Wharf and back every day.
  2. Indeed. I miss them too. I was too upset to go to the funeral.
  3. Hmmm... needs a little tweaking but very good. I liked that. Keep it up and keep going.
  4. How'd they work that one out then? He's not won anywhere near as much as the other two. He's a bloody good coach though and I admire the style of football he chooses to play and working within a budget and bringing on the youngsters. Oh! hang on, maybe that's why. Is it? What do you think?
  5. Johnson's been shit all season and Merson still can't walk past a betting shop (allegedly).
  6. "One morning I shot an elephant in my pyjamas. How he got into my pyjamas I'll never know." - Groucho Marx
  7. "Youth is wasted on the young." Oscar Wilde.
  8. I thought it was rather good. Much better than most of the everyday mundane crap that gets on here.
  9. There is an element of truth in it though Keef.
  10. Oh yeah I forgot about that. Have to agree with you Murphy on the way Hodgson and sacked. Bloody disgrace.
  11. Excellent appointment for Liverpool. It's only the Merseyside derby next Sunday and that's got to be a must see next weekend for any neutral at the moment. I'm hoping to get a ticket for the Spurs v Man Utd game but I'm not holding my breath. I'll watch it in the pub if I can't go. So Emerson the two teams you obviously hate the most Man U and Spurs, would a draw make you happy? Or perhaps a win for Spurs would be a guilty pleasure you could secretly enjoy?
  12. Either way Leeds can count themselves a little unlucky to come away from the Emirates with only a draw. Having watched it on TV yesterday afternoon I was impressed with the way they played. On current form they've got to be a must for promotion this year.
  13. I've been thinking of doing the same for ages for the exact same reasons. See you on the street or in the pub.
  14. Elton John... certainly a talented man for 15 minutes back in the 70s but his massively over-inflated ego and colour blind dress sense puts him firmly in with the other buggers on this thread.
  15. Bluerevolution Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Zaba wins appeal against red card. Quite right too. All he did was stand up to an idiot constantly sticking his head in face.
  16. I think part of the problem the Liverpool fans had with Hodgson is that he was appointed by the previous hated regime and he wasn't Rafa. I think it's a matter of time before he goes now but they really do have to make the right appointment and give the manager full backing financially otherwise I can see Liverpool being a mid-table side for many years to come. Liverpool are a massive club and the standards set have to be kept very high otherwise it will be a case of how the mighty have fallen.
  17. Bruce Forsyth - a mediocrity presiding over crap Saturday night television for what seems like forever.
  18. That's the one Ian. And thanks, I'd never seen her sister's obit before. Archie, I saw recently. He's still living in Newcastle and is still a gigging musician.
  19. Hi, I knew the Rackows. I went to junior school with Chloe and her knew her older sister Francis (Franny) very well too. Unfortunately Francis died of cancer a few years ago. Rachel was also a good friend of mine. The plaque was for her and her fiancee Julian who also very sadly died in the Marchioness disaster of 1989 (not '91) with Rachel. Other than that I can't really offer you anymore information. There is another older sister whose name slips my mind for the moment. I believe their mother is still alive but I can't be sure of that.
  20. "I'd hate to advocate drugs, alcohol or insanity to anyone, but they've always worked for me." Hunter S Thompson.
  21. Boadicea.
  22. That's harsh Keef. After United won the European Cup in '68 with an ageing team that included a young Best they should have built the team around him. They fact they didn't and were eventually relegated only tells part of the story. The fact remains that as a player Beckham and anyone other modern day British footballer you care to name is not fit enough to clean the boots of the genius that was George Best.

Keep your > ?50 to drown your sorrows when you miss out on > Champs League next year. ;-) Thought as much. All mouth and no trousers. No sour grapes here. The season isn't over yet. Got nothing to be sour about. We're doing quite well so far. Do you want to take the bet or haven't you got the balls? We've both won nothing so far this season but I've ?50 says you won't win the league. If you're so confident of winning it take the bet.
  25. I've got ?50 says they won't. Wanna bet and put your money where your mouth is?
