  1. Ha ha! I have to agree with your take on that Narnia. You see he's just playing the media again. He does it well.
  2. So EC, can you answer Narnia's question then?

  4. So they parked the bus. It worked though and they're still above you. That's why you've got the hump isn't it. Get over it. I think it's Man Utd's title to lose now. For a side that hasn't played good yet they're still top and can only get better going into the second half of the season. Arsenal aren't consistent enough, Chelsea's age looks like it has caught up with them and I think it may be a season too early for Man City but they'll certainly qualify for the Champions League this year. League Cup for Arsenal.
  5. They don't have to be directed at me. Anna's got the yawns too.
  6. "He cannot kick with his left foot, he cannot head a ball, he cannot tackle and he doesn't score many goals. Apart from that he's all right." George Best. I think George got it right about Beckham as player. He isn't fit enough to lace Bestie's boots but then no one is. Beckham though has made the most of himself by playing the media at their own game and at that he's been very successful financially by turning himself into a brand. He's won few football medals too, which helps.
  7. Give it a rest EC. It's boring for all of us.
  8. Probably died of acute liver failure. He was major imbiber of the sauce. BBC Article
  9. Not surprised. The club hasn't been the same since Alan Curbishley left. It's been one disaster after another. Feel sorry for the their fans.
  10. Talking of poor referees and I can't remember his name (**** Taylor?) and I'd not heard of him before but the guy who refereed the Spurs v Newcastle match was an absolute joke. How the feck Alan Smith, Joey Barton and Cheik Tiote remained on the pitch is still puzzling me now a week after the match.
  11. I did the same once after being over-served at a local hostelry and eventually after a few days my phone died. We later held a memorial service for her at the Crown & Greyhound (The Dog) in Dulwich Village and the staff there were suitably sombre. I was touched and very moved by the service there that day which was much quicker than they usually are. The beer flowed and there was much gnashing of teeth but I remembered next time I went to the loo never to have my phone again in my top pocket. I've had several mobile phones since and they've all managed to live a good long life until I've decided to upgrade and left them lying dormant in a draw just waiting to come to life again.
  12. Sell out.
  13. Agreed. Ferguson is what he is today because he's a tough old bastard. Like him or loathe he is still the most successful manager around and he didn't get where he is today by being nice. As John Lennon once said about the Beatles. "You have to be a bastard to make it and the Beatles were the biggest bastards."
  14. Narnia Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > I think JL was referring to the rivalry between > the clubs fans' and not you specifically EC. Correct.
  15. I was agreeing by "understanding" Emerson. You may have missed that. I can cope but the bile gets on my tits. Quids is perfectly correct in what he says.
  16. Emerson, I understand that and it wouldn't suit you to take the blinkers off.
  17. ???? Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > ...and whan Mick jones got that diving > header....... Oh how we hated that Leeds team then but it was against The Arse so still a corker in my book. This current Leeds team though are looking a good side and I watched them at WHL earlier in the season when we beat them in the Cup (I've forgotten the score but I'm sure DC will know). It's time they were back in the Premiership so hope they keep up the good work and get there (Jeez! have I been drinking? It's one thing to get plaudits about your club playing scintillating, entertaining, attacking football and Spurs have been great to watch but the point is to win something and we've won feck all yet. If I could have one trophy in our cabinet at the end of the season it would be the *European Cup. COYS! *I can dream can't I?
  18. You know it makes sense Quids. :))
  19. Freddie Flintoff? Freddie Carson? Freddie & The Dreamers? Going back to Woy. I think a large majority of the Liverpool support have had it in for him from day one simply because he wasn't thier beloved Rafa. Apart from Benitez who would you like to see in charge and how do you think they'd do a better job? Please don't say Kenny Dalglish, though I have a feeling you will.
  20. Nice one Sean. Good to hear that side of the coin.

  22. I'd quite like him at Spurs as it happens but would he be happy being a squad player or would he rather be a big fish in a small pond. He's got the talent and needs to make that step up. Does he have the right temprement?
  23. One player who has really impressed me this season is Charles N'Zogbia of Wigan. Despite his stupid sending off yesterday he has been their best player by far and has come on leaps and bounds since he left Newcastle. He has pace, skill in abundance and great technical ability. I wouldn't be at all surprised if there are a few clubs in for him in the New Year. I could see him doing really well at a club like... well Arsenal actually.
  24. How much? Jeez!!! No-one else can afford that sort of money in these harsh times. Not even Chelsea and I'd be very surprised if they did something similar despite their current problems on the pitch.
  25. Hoorah! Well said Mick Mac.
