  5. Oh bloody hell Keef, Howards Way was so awful in every sense, crap theme tune, awful scripts and appalling acting by all of those involved, only redeemed by the vampish vixen that was Kate O'Mara.
  6. Damn! Forgot all about that. I've been too busy watching Vivian Stanshall and other related Bonzo stuff on YouTube all day thanks to you Simon. Cheers!:)-D

  10. Dear SimonM, since you posted The Bonzos Canyons Of Your Mind I have been transported back to my childhood whiling away the morning giggling like a naughty schoolgirl watching all the old Bonzos clips on YouTube. Big big thank you. "Yes, yes I kiss you perfumed hair, a sweet essence of giraffe.">:D

  13. Animal Magic (great TV theme tune by the way), Get Smart and My Favourite Martian but my all time favourite when I was a kid was Do Not Adjust Your Set which featured future members of the Monty Python team, David Jason and of course the Bonzos Dog Band with the immortal Vivian Stanshall.:))

  16. Right! Come On You Spurs....please, please please let us beat the Gooner Scum tomorrow.
  17. I know where you're talking about EDA, beyond the netballs courts behind the playground at Dulwich Hamlet school. It was the Griffin Athletic Club and the grounds were owned by Sainsburys. The big house on the corner of Village way I believe used to be owned by Sainsburys too.

Annasfield, I didn't take it to mean you thought I was old. I took it as a compliment that you thought I only sounded old when I talk about all those gigs that I went to before you were born. You sound like a top girl to me. Bah! Queen, couldn't stand them. Although when I sang in a band we used to cover Now I'm Here. I actually walked out of one of their gigs. It was a free concert in Hyde Park. '75/'76 I think (there I go again). I was tripping off my tits and could only take about six or seven of their numbers before my friends and I had had enough of their pomp and bombast and made our way back to Dulwich for much needed liquid refreshment.
  20. They definitely owned it, whether they still do I don't know. I went to Dulwich Hamlet too. Happy days!

    Great Gigs

Thanks Annasfield, that makes me feel a whole lot better.:)) It's not how old you are. It's how you feel inside. Oh! Mockney, no no no, not the bloody 80s? Urgh! Dread decade.(6)

The bright yellow one? No, actually I don't drive. Never have. Would have been dead years ago if I had or somebody else would have. I prefer drinking and you can't do the two. Ronnie Lane at Dingwalls, late '79 or early 1980. The poor man was hanging on to a post for support to stand up because of his MS but sang beautifully and with great feeling. Unfortunately the band backing him that night (including Johnny Kidd and the Pirates guitarist Mick Green and Ian Stewart (Stones)) had only rehearsed five numbers but the crowd loved him so much we got him to play the whole set again. Lovely man, great songwriter, much missed.
  23. don't bemoan it
  24. I once worked on a local rag called What's On In Stoke Newington, it was a small piece of paper with F**k All written on it.
