  1. Sean, I'm sure you wouldn't have bored the bejasus out of me by talking about music. I think you'll find I can be just as obsessive. It's only a few short years ago that I finally weaned myself off reading the NME every week. Still get Mojo though. Yes, those stairs were a bit scary and if us smokers had been up in that room it certainly would have been damned foggy up there even with the windows wide open.

(see > what I did there?) Do you mean the cut up technique that Bowie borrowed from Brion Gysin and William Burroughs? Gun shop, bang bang.
  3. Roughly I'd say about 60 maybe 70.
  4. Spike Milligan's There's A Lot Of It About or any of his Q series. Some of the sketches could be a bit hit and miss others were downright bonkers and hilarious in equal measure.
  5. I've always enjoyed it in there and have a friend who had a birthday do in there last year and we had a great time and were well looked after and the food was excellent but then I suppose a lot of us who were there are fairly regular customers. It's true there have been some mixed reviews on this forum about Le Chardon but don't take our word for it find out for yourself. Personally I'd recommend it but some others won't.
  6. I saw Pop Will Eat Itself at least three or four times back in the early 90s and have one of their albums too. Aren't I the lucky one.
  7. Hello, my name is Jah and I'm in denial and I don't mean that river in Egypt.
  8. I still don't know what IIRC is and then you do this to me (ROTFLMAO). What the hell is that all about?
  9. and a tad bemused
  10. I am having a bit of a funny turn today Your Keefness which I put down to my being allergic to Mondays. Agree, lovely picture of Tillie and Steph and several other ladies too. Oh! get a grip man.
  11. I'll go with the George Canning seeing as Steve was good enough to turn up but wonder if it may be a little small for us lot. The Woodhouse is a Youngs pub Keef, fine drop of ale there and a good idea for a future bash and Mark you're right about bringing the atmospshere, so the Uplands wouldn't be a bad idea either. Also, we still haven't tried the newly refurbed Forest Hill Tavern have we and I rather thought that was going to be next up.
  12. "I wouldn't join any club that would have me as a member." Groucho Also, I've never been a big fan of heavy metal, so I'm sorry I can't help you on this.
  13. Very flattering Sean, and thanks. There really are some lovely looking ladies and one or two handsome chaps in those snaps but I am a tad disappointed there isn't a single pic of the stunningly gorgeous Chartwell. *Rubs hands up and down on thighs in a Vic Reeves style*.
  14. Great set of photos Andrew, well done, a fine smudger indeed. Captured the evening in all it's glory. One thing though, could you go back in and airbrush out my extra chins? Maybe make me look ten years younger and a stone or two lighter. No? Oh well, never mind.
  15. AndrewDBlack was the smudger on the night, perhaps he'll post them soon. Over to you Andrew.
  16. Detects an incoming air of smugness from the Gooner section of the Forum.
  17. *Waves white flag, looks forward to a good smoke*
  18. Oh! thanks ladies. You're very kind. So many ravishing beauties my head didn't know which way to turn.
  19. Oh well, at least you admit you have a genuine mental health problem and for that you have my sympathy. Truce?
  20. No idea but an aquaintance of mine once lived there and if memory serves me well it has got a sort of mini-church type structure in the garden. It's owned or was owned by the same guy who owns/owned the property in Upland Road that has the petrol pumps outside. Oops! that could have been another question.
  21. Oh! you poor man Keef, you have my sincerest sympathy, having to go shopping with one woman is bad enough but two, and with a hangover. Urg! Wedding suit is it?
  22. Hmmm. can't say I'm for or against this and I don't want to sound like I'm sitting on a fence, I just think the location could be a little bit better. Many years ago I lost a couple of friends to heroin and it's not nice. Another friend has been in recovery for 25 years. Also, I'm totally against Methadone treatment. It's just swapping one addiction for another.
  23. Agree entirely with Asset and Alan. Stay right where you are.
  24. Dear Mr Almurray, if you're up for suggestions on ale front then may I suggest Timothy Taylor's Landord? Other than that, you run a great boozer.
  25. Great party Mark, well done for organising everything.(tu) For my sins I am working today. I am also nursing the mother of all hangovers. Met some lovely people who I hadn't met before and others who I already have. Ahem! Is just me but there seemed to be an extraordinary amount of lovely looking ladies at the do last night, some of whom I flirted with in the most appallingly salacious manner and some that I unfortunately didn't get around to, luckily for them. I really am turning into a terrible old tart on my old age. Roll on the next drinks.:))
